This
is
the
worst
hospital
experience
we’ve
ever
had.
Due
to
lack
of
caring
and
concern
for
us
and
the
severity
of
our
situation,
we
almost
lost
our
5-week
old
daughter
here.
We
were
sent
here
from
Kaiser
Lancaster,
who
told
us
the
pediatrician
was
waiting
for
us.
Not
only
was
the
pediatrician
not
waiting
for
us,
we
were
told
by
the
person
checking
us
in
that
they
don’t
do
what
Kaiser
says,
they
do
their
own
thing.
We
arrived
there
at
10:00
am
and
didn’t
see
the
pediatrician
until
at
least
1:00
pm.
We
didn’t
leave
this
war
zone
until
7:00
pm
when
we
were
transported
to
Kaiser
Sunset.
They
did
get
us
out
of
the
emergency
waiting
room
quickly,
but
between
unsanitary
conditions
(there
was
blood
on
the
room
floor
when
we
were
finally
taken
to
a
room),
uncaring
staff
(any
nurse
taking
care
of
our
daughter
went
to
lunch
at
the
same
time
they
were
caring
for
our
daughter,
leaving
her
limp
in
our
arms,
and
the
pediatrician
didn’t
care
to
show
up
to
see
us
for
at
least
3
hours
-
she
was
paged
multiple
times,
plus
we
heard
nurses
making
fun
of
other
patients
to
their
face),
disgusting
curtained
rooms
with
no
privacy,
a
hospital
room
that
had
a
door
that
did
not
close
(and
everyone
walking
by
watching
every
procedure
being
done
to
our
daughter),
lack
of
knowledge
from
the
staff
and
the
shear
incompetency
(the
pediatrician
called
Kaiser
to
consult
doctors
there,
and
based
on
the
symptoms
given
over
the
phone,
Kaiser
said
it
was
botulism
-
completely
treatable
-
though
the
pediatrician
didn’t
agree;
which
it
turned
out
to
be),
and
the
feeling
of
hopelessness
when
you
walk
through
the
halls
(the
Green
Zone
felt
like
a
zombie
apocalypse),
it’s
amazing
that
this
place
is
still
in
existence.
The
doctors
said
things
like
our
daughter
might
have
to
go
on
life
support
without
knowing
what
it
was,
as
I’m
holding
my
daughter
motionless.
You
don’t
say
that
to
a
mother
who
is
holding
her
5-wk
old
without
knowing
what
you’re
talking
about.
They
also
constantly
insinuated
child
abuse,
asking
us
over
and
over
if
we
dropped
or
hit
her.
I
understand
asking
because
that’s
protocol,
but
not
insisting
like
we
were
lying.
That
was
uncalled
for.
We
felt
that
AV
saw
us
as
a
cash
cow,
able
to
do
tests
and
take
money
from
Kaiser
by
having
us
as
their
patients.
I
didn’t
feel
our
daughter
was
cared
for,
and
we
felt
like
she
was
just
a
number.
I
hope
that
someone
who
thinks
about
taking
their
child
here
would
read
this
and
think
twice.
Our
5-wk
old
daughter’s
health
was
not
prioritized
and
for
that
we
almost
lost
her.
AV
is
a
horrible
hospital
and
should
be
shut
down.
While
there,
her
health
was
rapidly
declining
and
Kaiser
Sunset
knew
exactly
what
the
disease
was
with
symptoms
listed
over
the
phone.
It
wasn't
until
we
were
transferred
out
of
AV
and
to
Kaiser
that
we
felt
some
hope.
Our
daughter
was
given
the
treatment
for
botulism
from
Kaiser
10
hours
after
leaving
AV
and
recovered
in
5
days,
instead
of
a
continual
lack
of
care
from
AV.
She
recovered
quicker
than
many
of
the
Kaiser
doctors
had
ever
seen
and
she
would
have
recovered
more
quickly
if
she
was
never
at
AV.
I
would
think
twice
about
trusting
your
child
to
such
a
horrible
hospital.
