They lost my son’s belongings and sent him home in the rain and hail with no jacket or shoes. Also all his other things. Maria Davis ( patient advocate) and the CEO Steven Hytry nor his secretary will return any of my several phone calls. Absolutely no professionalism whatsoever. They got their money from the insurance and that’s all they care about. If I could give a zero for a review I would. I highly recommend not to go there as if they lose your property you will ignored and disappointed. It doesn’t take much to return a call and say I received your message and looking into this. No response is a response.Bottom line, They just don’t care.

I would give this place a zero if possible. The staff does not give patients messages from their family. I waited full days before I got any messages from my family after they called all day. The night staff keeps patients awake because they are loud. The day staff nursing assistants were lovely but overall the faculty is a horrible place to be and I suffered in ways that I can’t talk about. I’m reporting this facility to the board because they neglect their patients. Do not send your family here. It was a very traumatic experience

my son is 24 yrs old we live in the San Fernando Valley he was transported here from Olive View hospital on Monday Sept.19 I talked to him and the phone cut off I have been trying to reach him for three days days I can't get anybody not his nurse not his social worker nor the patient advocate only voice mails that are never returned. I started calling at 9:00 am til 9:00 pm nothing for 3 days this morning I am going to send the police department to this facility to do a welfare check on my son . I will post update.......found out they put my son on a bus they gave him 2 bus passes on the bus it's a 10:1/2 hour ride home he left at 4:00 pm some busses don't run all night What were these people thinking. The Social worker responsible for this her name is Rachel. This place needs to have there funding pulled and shut down . DO NOT LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONES IN THE CARE OF THIS FACILITY YOUR LOVED ONES LIFE DEPENDS ON IT.

When facing a heart-wrenching crisis, Pacific Grove Hospital became my sanctuary. Surrounded by a calming atmosphere, I was touched by the genuine empathy of their compassionate staff. They lovingly guided me through my journey, helping me heal and emerge stronger than ever. I wholeheartedly recommend Pacific Grove Hospital to anyone seeking emotional refuge and exceptional mental health care.

I'd give no stars if it was an option. My daughter was there over a week on a 5150, I picked her up yesterday.... They didn't help her AT ALL. Immediately she let me know how she didn't take her meds and the manner in which she "tricked" the staff. Seriously old school these people didn't bother with under the tongue check at pill time, she also learned how to say what they want to hear and their psychiatric staff apparently can't see through that. My kid had bunches of time to hang with other patients who's thoughts were much like hers so her thoughts were validated by other patients and she came back home with more of the problems than she left with and great new ways to get around help being forced thanks to the inept staff who can't even make sure someone takes their medication. Lazy, totally lazy, 1 in 10 phone calls you make to the place will get answered and the voicemail is always full as well. TERRIBLE if you have options use someplace else. They care about collecting insurance payments, not actual mental health. Update: proof in point this place is after money not helping people. Not even 48 hours out of there and my child is back on hold this time for trying to kill someone. SHAME ON YOU she's not on drugs etc NEEDS REAL MENTAL HEALTH CARE which this place CLEARLY doesn't know how to do. If you'd have done your job this wouldn't have happened.

Pacific Grove outpatient treatment center is amazing. I got so much out of the program highly recommend. Ray is exceptionally knowledgeable and truly cares. Dr. Summerhour is the BEST PSYCHIATRIST EVER truly cares extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to get your medication as close to perfect as you can get. The entire outpatient team is amazing.

Do not allow this place to care for yourself or loved ones. Please read. This hospital is currently holding my grieving friend who got transferred here for no reason. He is not an endangerment to himself or others. They have him in solitary confinement. He is not allowed to use the bathroom himself. Where they left him to urinate himself. The original hospital transferred him there without contacting the family . For 3 days nobody knew where he was . And the original hospital just told us they had no patient there by that name . The patient willingly admitted himself while grieving the loss of his wife. Now he's left to piss himself and not given the right to even know his own patient number . Making the ability for the family to contact him almost impossible. This place is going down legally. Do not place a loved one here. Do not admit yourself here. This is a place to punish the grieving not a place to heal. This place is the exact definition of what's wrong with the world . This place is a human rights catastrophy .

I have had such a positive experience working with the team from Pacific Grove. They are all so passionate about helping individuals find the services they need. They are quick to respond to calls and always are happy to hear from me. The hospital offers an array of behavioral health services, and treat each person with a high regard.

This place is well known for being one of the very worst psychiatric hospitals in all of California, and the level of neglect and abuse I faced here was astronomical. I have PTSD as a result, so thanks for the additional trauma. For these people to claim they wish to help is insulting and a downright lie. They are the same people that will tell you off and abuse you when you are in there crying for help. If you have not noticed, many five star reviews are followed by someone claiming to be a worker. Pathetic excuse to raise their ratings. If you value your health and well being, avoid this place like it’s the plague it is.

My name is Tony and I am using a fake Google account for this review, but I was here for a few days 2/2/23 to 2/7/23 on a 51/50- 52/50 hold. Let me say that this place was different, but the staff was very helpful. Mark was awesome I can’t thank him enough for being so nice and the rest of the staff. I will define them all day they have a very difficult job. They were alway nice when talking with me and went out of their way to make sure I was good. I wish I could remember all the names of the staff that were around to call them out in this review.

I would give 0 stars if I could. After I voluntarily walked in for overwhelming anxiety that was affecting my daily life, I was never given a walk through of what the process was going to be like. The receptionist was not friendly and handed me paperwork to fill out without explaining anything. After meeting with someone and explained that my main complaint was my anxiety, they took me back and got me settled in the late evening. Later that night the medication nurse came to give me medication that wasn’t even discussed with me. I kept asking what it was for and all she said was “it’s for sleep” I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and I took the medication but then the next day was terrible. The whole places smelled bad, floors were filthy and had old stains that accumulated dust and food on top. The chairs had all kinds of food in them around them and everywhere. There were no stimulating activities for anyone to do to help alleviate anxiety, agitation or sadness which resulted in more people feeling restless or anxious. The worst part is the staff. Not only did they spend more time talking amongst themselves but they sat on their phones and completely dismissed anyone, including myself , whenever someone tried to get their attention. People were not treated with compassion and there was a huge lack of communication. The icing on the cake was when I asked to leave, the staff FALSIFIED INFORMATION and stated that I couldn’t because I shared I was going to take my own life and that they wanted to try me on two medications and even stated the wrong medications I have never taken. I told them that I was there VOLUNTARILY for moderate anxiety and then they had to jump through hurdles an hoops and hesitated to let me leave. Eventually they let me go because I kept pushing. It was a HORRIBLE experience.

As a mental health provider I hold Pacific Grove in the highest regard. They set a standard for patient centered care. I am so glad they have the ability to help the community and humanity as a whole!

My family admitted me here for my addiction of drugs 11/2023. And I was in treatment here for detoxing from heavy active use. My first thought of this place when I was given my bed was that it was gonna be a bad experience and wasn’t gonna help me at all. It can use a little remodeling, newer furniture. The showers weren’t the cleanest either. But my experience at this hospital couldn’t have been any more perfect! I was at my lowest point in my life. And I was brought here to start my recovery. And my recovery journey could not have started off any better with this place. The nurses were friendly, the councilman was very helpful, and created the perfect treatment plan for myself. And everything that was wrong with me was Perfecto taken care of. I was left alone to sleep as much as I needed, besides the food being good actually, my diet plan was perfect since i did lack a lot nutrition. I was well fed and thanks to this place, I have a very good diet i learned to follow. It was a great vibe in there. Very friendly, and I was treated as such. The group sessions that were held in there throughout the day were very helpful experiences. It felt like the staff in general actually cared for our well being. And every question or concern was solved in a friendly manner. The nurses that I mostly want to thank the most are Yaneli and Dave. They were very friendly and made me feel like I wasn’t alone and kept me feeling like I mattered. Never got an iffy response or any kind negativity from them. And I am very grateful for that. I can honestly say that I never lacked anything I needed in there. And felt safe my whole time in there. This is the place I needed and I walked out of that hospital with my head held high and got my spirit back thanks to this place. My life was honestly saved by this hospital. I walked out of there with my spirit up. And very happy. And my journey to recovery stands strong. I’m very grateful for this place.

My relative was in Pacific Grove's care for two weeks. Thanks to PG staff: doctor, social worker, nurses...everyone for keeping their heads up in doing their difficult job and caring for this group of especially-needed-help patients.

They were really good to me here staff was sweet and kind and helpful to me. My only complaint is that the interior didn't look good and the building could use some work to look more welcoming for the patients. Other than that amazing experience.

I’m not sure where to begin. My wife in a moment of crisis, voluntarily went to Pacific Grove Hospital located at 5900 Brockton Ave., Riverside, CA 92506, on July 6, 2023, to try and contact her psychiatrist. The chain of events that followed were nothing short of criminal through mechanisms of coercion, false documentation, direct violation of Civil Rights, medical negligence, diagnosis errors, treatment errors, and wrongful imprisonment. I don’t use these terms loosely and mean them literally. It is saddening to know these places exist and operate under authority with vagrant disregard of Civil Rights and unethical behavior. THIS HOSPITAL DOES NOT DESERVE ANY STARS.

Thankful for the Angels who are caring for our Family members. But it would be nice to be included on the journey to understand more for when they get released and to be kept informed of their progress.

Pacific Grove Hospital (Outpatient) is a great place to receive alcohol & drug after care service. Coming back from recovery, I didn't know where else to go for after care. Pacific Grove is the place to get PHP or IOP and continue after care for both mental & substance abuse. They have friendly dedicated & caring staff. Arleth & Ray are great therapist that will work with your needs to get mental stability. They will help you work on obtain the right coping skills in order for you to remain sober and together mentally. Great place to be when in recovery. I highly recommend this place. Staff members are so caring and dedicated they always welcome you as you walk in the door.

The moment I came in I felt welcome by the staff and the patients which is key for feeling safe and vulnerable to me. This is the first time I’ve done an outpatient program voluntarily and I’ve learned more in the first week than I have in any other program. If you really want to find help for yourself this is the place I would highly recommend.
