following up with specialists that listen to you & actually do proper testing is essential. grateful for the one RN who actually treated me as human during the ordeal. most staff including the doc on call had horrible bedside manner & alleviated none of my concern that brought me to the ER in the first place. Still experiencing symptoms days later.

I’ve been working with their billing administrator/vendor for over two years to resolve my bill. Payments are often un-applied or applied incorrectly. The hospital sends out bills years after your visit - it’s a mess. I would recommend avoiding based on the billing aspect alone. Some of the nurses during my actual hospital stay were great. Others ignored me and one even laughed at me when I needed help walking to the bathroom after an 8 hour surgery.

It is surprise for me that, this center can get 5* as they post it on the hallway. My husband stayed in ICU for more than 2 weeks. Most of all the Staffs, RN were good especially Denise and Grace but 1 R/n name Elizabeth was different. She was mean, lazy and overbearing. I am glad that she was on the service with my husband only a few days. When my husband moved to the floor, the caring services were so horrible. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the visiting time was very limited. Not many patient's relatives around, all the staffs don't work hard and careless to patients. I came to visit my husband on Sat 1/8/21, in charge RN was Martha. My husband 's nose and mouth were bleeding so much, I pressed the bell many time but no respond from the staff office. I had 2 Staffs were working around to call her. Finally she came and said because we did not have nurse to respond all the call and look clearly every patients. I believe, 2 above RN work as Medical Nurse for money, for high paid, not with the spirit of service.

This is by far the worst hospital to get any medical service, especially if you are in urgent need of medical care. I had to wait almost 8 hours to get no concrete answer to my medical emergency except blood being drawn, pain medication and when I tried getting my lab work results staff acts oblivious and hang up your calls. I will never put my life in the hands of the staff and doctors here ever.

Clean room nice staff very friendly and helpful. Security process I believe could be improved. If you have a sign in sheet it would be beneficial for the security guard on staff to require some form of ID to prove the name they are writing is the actual name of the person.

Do not go to this hospital. Worst hospital in the area. I've had 2 family members go to the ER here and they do nothing to help with your emergency. The wait is horrible and they treat the patients as if they mean nothing. If I could give this place 0 stars I would.

Do not go there. They charge me almost $700 eventhough I was not seen by a doctor (I just waited for hours in the waiting room and then left because they did not have any open bed and there was no one at the front desk) Their customer service always goes to mail box. I have never seen anything like this.

What kind of ER allows a kid to sit in the waiting room while they’re bleeding from the head. Front desk was equally mean. Bedside manner out the door. When asked about diagnostic testing for his head injury, such as a CT, instead of saying he has no need for it, the doctor says ‘a patient doesn’t order testing, the doctor does’. Where is the care and guidance we need? My cousin was in a major car accident and his first one. He was shaken up. I’m in rage for this hospital that lacks the empathy to help others.

Worst hospital. Nurses don’t care about you , you have to beg for pain meds after major surgery. I felt so alone and under cared . I only chose this hospital because one of the surgeons, who did surgery on me was contracted with this hospital. I would never again do any sort of business with them.

My lady came here for an outpatient surgery. At first, I was like “HELL NO” because the reviews on this place were horrible. However, the surgery went smooth and the nurse Jesse Castro was an absolute angel, we left there very grateful for her. People like that are rare and the reason you get this review @ south coast global medical center. Thank you! 🙏🏽

Hello I am a not over the age of 18 but I know how it went. When I arrived at 6 am there was no one there and it took about 25 minutes just to get in there. side note i have a cast on because I have Toe walk and i got a chopstick in there pressing on my foot. i was in a lot of pain to were I would cry. they made me sit in a room and take my blood pressure and ask me questions while i am crying. then they got me in a room and sat down next to my mom. one of the doctors heard my mom complaining about the no help and a man said not to get mad and calm down then i sat there for maybe 3 minutes in a lot more plain and the people that said they are looking for it was standing around with the other doctors talking about there "car insurance" so we left and drove to a different ER . i would never want to go back and the worse experience.

Disappointing Experience at South Coast Medical Center I recently visited my mother at the South Coast Medical Center after she was admitted due to a severe allergic reaction. I brought her some toiletries and necessities, hoping to find her in good hands. Unfortunately, my experience at this medical center left much to be desired. Upon entering my mother's room, I found that the sink had no running water. Both my mom and the other patient in the room were instructed to use the call button on the other patient's bedside for assistance. This created an uncomfortable situation for both patients, as they had to rely on each other for basic needs. The other patient mentioned she was hungry and thirsty, but despite pressing the call button multiple times, no staff members attended to her needs for hours. When I approached the staff to ask for water for my mother, they laughed at my request. Only when they realized I was serious about the patients' well-being did they inform me that my mother would be discharged. The discharge process was disorganized and unprofessional. Dr. Robert Canon and his nurse Darlene were condescending and rude while explaining the situation. They asked repetitive questions and provided no clear solutions. When I expressed concerns about my mother's ongoing symptoms, Dr. Canon's response was inadequate and dismissive. Furthermore, the staff attempted to send us home without any paperwork. It took considerable insistence on my part to receive the discharge documents and prescription. The front desk staff Chloe and her co-worker appeared unprofessional in their attire and demeanor, even talking and laughing about me within earshot. The overall experience at South Coast Medical Center was disheartening. The staff seemed more focused on socializing than providing proper care to their patients. Additionally, patients were seen sleeping in the hallways and asking to be put in a room. I would advise caution when considering this facility for your loved ones' medical needs.

Listen to the reviews. My husband just got a surgery. Let me say the nurses prior to the surgery were nice and friendly and helpful. After surgery is another story. Rn Claudine Todman is so rude. I was just walking in to my husbands room and she was rude and just starring. Anytime we needed something cause my husband was in pain, she took forever to answer the telecom and way more to go to the room. Honestly we were so close to leaving to another hospital. But his other nurse male guy(Don I believe) he was more understanding and helpful. Honestly stay away from here is crazy. Also there was no chairs in his room. And visiting hours is at 10am not 8. Which i was told to come back at 8am. 3 star is only because of some of the staff were very helpful.

This hospital is horrific! Please do not waste your time coming here. The staff in the ER are unprofessional and yell at you! They lie straight to your face. My boyfriend had something logged in his throat and couldn’t breath and they did nothing for him. He had to walk out and rush to another hospital. To find he had a pill capsule stuck in his throat. Just please don’t go here I don’t even understand how this place is still operating! It’s sad and un safe!

I just recently had surgery here. If I didn’t feel so close to knocking on heavens door, I would have taken pics. 1. I woke up abruptly after surgery when being transferred from op table to rolling bed. 2. I was in so much pain since they didn’t let me “relieve” the gas after my surgery. I would have rather have been stabbed and this is a result of rushing patients thru so they can make more money. 3. Nursing staff was bad - did not stop in to check, change my bed pan, or pick up after I used the facilities. I normally do neat and tidy but writhing in pain so I couldn’t do it. Also there was one nurse who refused to give me pain medication. She was not helpful at all. She had no idea how much pain I was in and j in remember begging her for medicine. 4. Hospital was very dirty. I remember mustering anything I could to show I could at least hobble 5 feet so I could get out of there. 5. I’ve had surgery before, and this was clearly the most harrowing experience. We are new to the area so we didn’t know what our choices were. Do not come here!

I had a procedure scheduled at 7 AM, and I was instructed to fast for more than 12 hours before it. However, my experience was extremely disappointing. I ended up waiting for a staggering 4 HOURS past my appointment time, which not only caused unnecessary stress but also made the fasting period even more challenging. This level of unprofessional service is unacceptable, and I would strongly advise against anyone choosing this facility for medical procedures.

Horrible experience..My friend was really sick and I took him here..we waited over 5 hrs. in the lobby and he was not seen. My friend was so sick and finally, after such a long wait we decided to seek real medical attention and decided to go somewhere else. It was unbelieavable, the receptionist and staff didn't even care about our long wait, considering that my friend was in extreme pain. My goodness, I can't believe these places exist, and no one does anything about it..Please do waste your time and visit this place, service is awful, and very far from "Emergency" hospital.

The treatment I got was fast and quick and pain was under control fast. I enjoyed the rest of my stay, everyone was professional and made me feel better. The case managers were able to place me somewhere good. I would like to thank Trish L in Medsurg and Kevin D for going above and beyond!

Don’t have your Baby here unless you want a C-section… I should’ve known My cousins had their babies here and all of them had a C-section but with “different excuses” and it happen to me. I already had a baby 2011 with natural delivery at a different hospital. 2020 I felt that I was dilating the nurse I had was really nice & she said everything was good before her shift was over not even 3 mins later another nurse came in saw my babies heartbeat paper and said “how long have you been here” and than walked out and came back saying I need a C-section. I said “no, I’m not getting one” she left and came this a doctor that wasn’t even mine to begin with and said that the baby heartbeat was low.. they called my doctor and convinced me to stay.. they were giving me an epidural with a needle and literally poked me 5 times I kept screaming cause either one arm would go up or my leg and she said “I don’t know what you are talking about I only poked you once” well my guy checked after and saw 5 needles pokes also the nurse that helped me after after said that hospital is known for having C-sections. 2021 I had another baby at St Joseph and NATURAL thank god

It is the worst hospital that exists, they treat people worse than animals. If you don't want to have a bad time, avoid that place.
