If you find yourself or a loved one here please read. My mother was unfortunately transferred to this facility and stayed for over a month. This stay included family having to repeatedly request contact with her primary MD that was assigned to her at this hospital. In the over month and half she stayed here we never met him. Other experiences included finding my mother cold & soaked in urine, had to take it up to the director or nursing, CEO and other upper management to ask for position changes every 2 hours, narcotic overuse (my mother was verbal, denied being in pain and RN still gave oxycodone) being ignored by nursing staff when an IV was infiltrated, nurses unable to contact the primary physician for DAYS which is completely unsafe and negligent and a hospital acquired infection that required an ICU transfer and antibiotics for 2 weeks. There is also a severe lack of professionalism by staff including nurses and doctors. For example, nurses coming in the room and not explaining what medications were being given, taking PERSONAL phone calls in front of patients and families in the patient room, ignoring family concerns when there was a change in a patients condition. Doctor's not returning pages by both family and staff, not washing their hands before and after touching a patient, flipping up a patient gown without concern for female modesty while looking at a g-tube, not including family or patient in a plan of care. Being told by the house supervisor that he no longer wanted to hear what we had to say when voicing safety concerns and kicked out of his office. Cleanliness standards leave much to be desired. There was old crusty feeding tube formula on IV poles, urine catheter containers being stored under roommate's ventilator table, reusing the same g tube syringe for weeks. I've been an RN for over 10 years and am saddened by how poorly my mother was treated even with advocating for her and having family present everyday. I have never seen such disrespect and lack of compassion. I felt like I was constantly working everytime I was there instead of visiting with my mother. I should have never had to meet with a house supervisor, director or nursing, head of the patient advocate department and the CEO to voice our safety concerns.

My husband was admitted to Kindred on Jan 13th - he was on a ventilator, extremely weak and unable to move his body due to a 4 week induced coma and malnourishment (he lost 100 lbs prior to being moved to Kindred). After only 10 days at Kindred Santa Ana he gained some weight back and was regaining his strength . We chose this facility over other options because FAMILY is important to the staff and they welcome visitors with very generous visiting hours. Family can make the difference between recovery or not. Some of the other facilities did not allow family in, and that was just not acceptable for us; not seeing your loved ones will slow recovery time. We also chose it because the staff is friendly, helpful and truly CARE about their patients. The Respiratory Team is amazing. The Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, RD, ST, nurses, etc. all wonderful. And Dennis, the patient advocate, always makes sure that I'm happy with how everything is going. :) My husband is recovering and I know that he's in great hands at Kindred Santa Ana. I feel fortunate that I took the time to research and make this good choice for him. Highly recommend it!

If you want your loved one nurtured back to health go to Kindred Santa Ana. My grandmother was with them for 20 days and was not able to walk when she first came in. She was not eating and had difficulty breathing. She is now walking, eating way more than before, and breathing perfectly fine. We got support even after she left Kindred and was set up with Home Health to continue rehabilitation in the comfort of her own home. Any issues or requests that were made from my family and I were heard and handled to the best of the staffs ability and I do appreciate that. I do have to say family involvement is important when a loved one goes to an unfamiliar place. But Kindred did their best to make my grandmother comfortable. They were very accommodating and I am very grateful to have such an understanding staff. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication especially during a stressful and uncertain time. Your efforts are not unnoticed and I know that anyone that comes to this hospital for rehabilitation will have a similar experience because everyone genuinely cares. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Here is a photo of the aftermath!

I have a deep respect and appreciation for the physicians and staff at Kindred Hospital Santa Ana. My dad was near death upon his transfer to Kindred. The medical care, positivity, and love my dad received not only saved his life, but has him thriving to the point where he is expected to return home in a few weeks. The congeniality of the physicians and staff has been invaluable for my dad’s mental health through his traumatic illness. My dad has built genuine friendships at Kindred. My family and I enjoy engaging with the physicians and staff during our visits; they are both professional and refreshingly personable. I highly recommend Kindred Hospital Santa Ana. You or your loved one will be in good hands.

My father was a patient here. We come in everyday and the staff here were very helpful and courteous. When my dad was in ICU Erlinda was very thorough in her care and when he got out of ICU too. She was helpful even when we’re not in ICU either. The staff here were so considerate towards my dad and always help us when we have questions. Thank you so much for your care.

The staff here at Kindred have provided me with excellent care during my stay. I give very high marks to the PT team who helped me progress from hardly able to do anything to helping me walk and handle most daily skills. I also give kudos to the wound care team who were able to promote rapid. healing of my severe pressure wound . The nursing team was also very caring.

My dad was transferred from St Joseph hospital to Kindred Hospital. So far we have had a good experience, even though they have covid restrictions with visitors at this time the staff has been very informative and always making sure we understand the plan of care for my dad. Dennis my dad’s patience advocate has helped us during this though season and Dora from administration greeted us the first day and provided us with all the paperwork we needed. Sometimes is hard to get a hold of the nurses but together with the patient advocate’s help and the case manager’s help we have kept up to date with my dads status. I am grateful they started allowing visitors again for one hour a day because I believe family helps the patients recover faster. The respiratory team has been doing a great job for my dad. And I am really happy that everyone so far has been compassionate, understanding and caring. We are praying that my dad will be able to get all the physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy they offer once he gets better.

My husband was at Kindred Hospital for 2-3 weeks to recover from surgery for osteomyelitis. As difficult as it is being in the hospital and watching your loved ones deal with long-term illness, the staff at Kindred were compassionate and caring. Thank you to everyone, including the doctors, nurses, nurse assistants, physical therapists, and the case manager. Special thanks to Dennis for your compassion and thoughtfulness from the beginning of the stay until the end.

My husband Danny is a patient at Kindred Hospital in Santa Ana and has had a positive experience during his stay. The doctors and nurses have been very professional and very encouraging. The Patient relations representative Dennis Santos has been extremely attentive to my husband's needs and has such a joyful personality. I cannot say enough of the staff and care my husband has received.

Appreciative of all the kindred nurses and staff. They are very attentive in whatever requests we have. Dennis is very attentive in advocating for patients. My family and I had a meeting with team of directors caring for my father, and it was great seeing everyone working collaboratively on my father's case. Thank you for all you do.

Our mother has been in Kindred Santa Ana for 40 days so far. The staff, starting with the receptionists, office & environmental personnel, up to the medical personnel & nurses are highly caring, courteous, and true hard workers in their positions and jobs. They’re truly going above and beyond in delivering great care and services to the patients. We are a demanding family and from the day one, we have nothing experienced but smiles, positive attitudes and immediate responses when we’re physically there or when we call to ask questions or request for something on our mother’s behalf who does not speak English. It is absolutely obvious that Kindred Santa Ana has planned and looking to reach high standards. We’d like to recognize the management team for their great planing and setting goals across the hospital. Same time, we’d also like to suggest the management team to continue the great efforts in refreshing some equipments and tools for medical personnel to deliver flawless care. There are old IV pumps that are noisy throughout the day and malfunctioning periodically. The old and partially broken chairs in the patient rooms, broken wheelchair at the reception area, insufficient closet size and drawers in patient rooms, etc… We highly appreciate everyone’s hard work at Kindred Santa Ana. Thank you and may god bless you all.

My mom has been at kindred for 12 weeks and her condition is not very good do to her medical condition. The staff here from day 1 have been nothing short of angels. From Dennis the director , respiratory nurses, pulmonists, dialysis, bedside nurses and assistants have been giving round the clock care and always giving updates when we come to visit my mom. It can be so scary choosing the right care for your loved ones as it was for our family. I believe we chose the right place with kindred and I wish you and your family the reassurance if you choose kindred Santa Ana that your loved one will be taken care of in the same matter here.

My husband has been staying here for 19 days and has made such great improvement! The nurses and staff are always so welcoming and friendly. Always attentive to my husbands needs as well as our special requests to accommodate his anxiety triggers. Dennis and his team have been very helpful from the beginning and we are looking forward to a full recovery and have my husband back home soon! A plus is that this place is less than ten minutes away from my home!

“I was very pleased with my experience having my mother at Kinred hospital. I can be a hard critic of emergency care places and the people employed by them. This time was a world away from previous experiences elsewhere. It was good to have my mother treated with professionalism and care. When I say the doctor and all the other employees of Kinred hospital Doctors, nurse’s Care made my mother feel she was in safe hands. A big thank you to all of them.” Specially Princess,Luz,cici

August 21, 2023 Dear Kindred Santa Ana, Ashley, Karen, Luz and Nurse Supervisor, My father, Cai room# 17B, has been in the care of Kindred Santa Ana for the past Saturday and Sunday . During that time, we have noticed the support of nurse Chieko has been exceptional. The care she has provided him has made a tremendous positive impact on his health and overall wellbeing. We would like to request additional focus of nurse Chieko on caring for my father going forward, if possible. Our entire family would greatly appreciate it. Best wishes and regards, Jimmy

I got transferred from St Joseph in Orange to Kindred in Santa Ana and at first I was worried because they had bad reviews on Yelp. I've had a good experience they have some awesome Nurse's and CVN's and LVN's here, There's Annie, and Sarah, Patricia, Rebecca, Kimberly, Yolanda, and Ryan..Each one of them went out of their way to make me happy, when I was hungry in the middle of the night or day they brought me snacks and drinks and I've from the Cafeteria because the Ice Machine was broken. They made sure I was NEVER in pain, always on time with my pain medicine.. I didn't like the food I was receiving initially ( unless Madison was working) she's Amazing she would make me special huge spinach, or Arugula salads with feta cheese and cucumbers the works and put a red heart with a magic marker on it! The dietician Eric, who runs the kitchen or is in charge in some capacity, came to my room and asked me what I liked to eat... and OMG everyday since has been sooo yummy, yogurt, fresh fruit, like pineapples and strawberrys, the best spaghetti, and vegetables like zucchini, steamed, seasoned, dessert( black marble cake) or Chocolate Chip huge Cookie, breakfast a omelette.. I've been spoiled. Diane was incredible and Donna the Supervisor is the only one that got me the ok for a shower, I had MRSA and cellulitis they took care of my wounds and when you enter the hospital you will be swapped and cleaned and checked everywhere... lol.. for Covid, Staph, that fungus any infectious disease which was a little embarrassing but I requested just a female present and that's what happened it takes like 5 minutes and then they keep quality control in this place. The last thing you want is any contamination of something contagious like Covid etc to be introduced into the Hospital so, it's a good policy all in all. Last but not least were my case workers ( they make sure you get follow up care, or get to a rehab, or home safely they work on your discharge to make things go smoothly, theirs 3 of them ( well, there was 4 me) Princess( yes, that's her real name) Luz, and Karen( the Gemini,) like me.. they are so young and cute and caring they introduce themselves wayyy before your going to leave, give U their business cards with numbers and if you need them the WILL B THERE.. 😉 All in All Everything I didn't care for or was displeased with, they made it better. I got really attached to Annie and Sarah and Patricia and Rebecca the most... I'm not a very patient, patient and they SPENT A LOT of quality time talking to me when I was distressed or in pain, or hungry, sad. This woman really work hard and long hours, I know it must be hard especially for the Grave yard shifts up all night and then sleeping a little in the day and having to all the responsibilities at home, taking care of kids, husband, grocery shopping, making their own Dentist and Doctors Appts. Then coming back here again, probably very tired, ( Anyone would be with their hours) but they come back and their always smiling ( even if their not my Nurse that night) but they see me and ask " How I am doing"? I say all that to say this..they have bad Yelp reviews but I saw they were mostly from relatives of the patients. And I don't think most of the patients that have had an ok or excellent experience even thinks to give a review for this Hospital or any..normally I wouldn't either. I felt the need to, because here at this Hospital there are some individuals that I mentioned that obviously aren't just here for a paycheck, they honestly care about the patients here and I named them so they are recognized for their Awesomeness😎😘🥰😍🤩

Going home today after 45 days staying at Kindred Hospital Santa Ana, thanks to Dr. Max Nguyen, Dr. Harmanjit Singh, and Dr. Mehta. This is my honest experience at Kindred for over a month. This was my home away from home! I wanted to give a special thanks to dialysis staff especially Eric the Director, the best Dialysis nurse Adam, Ali, and Brian. If i could give Adam more than 5 stars, I would! Adam is not only a Dialysis nurse, he even helped me with my breakfast and made sure i was always getting the food I needed to have a good day. The other department I want to recognize is Rehab. Vina the director has an amazing team, Without Maria, Isaias and Vinas support, i would not be where i am today. Without these these two departments, I would not be going home! I I want to thank Ehab the Nursing House Supervisor for being so supportive and helping me through my stay. Yvette, the nursing secretary, was so sweet and checked on me when it wasnt her responsibility. I have a long list of nurses that I want to thank beginning with the CNAs like Maggie, Gerrardo, Denise my In-N-Out girl, Froiland, Esteban, Bert, and Sujei. I also want to thank my wonderful RNs Robert, Amandeep, Maria, Ruby, and Sherri. I also appreciated my LVNS Sandy, Vanessa, Juliette, Gerlie, BOTH Stephanies, Theresa, and Rebecca. The student nurses are also very helpful and friendly. If there is anyone else I am leaving out, I apologize, there were so many great people here to help me! The lab people are also very sweet and helpful, Ashley and Maricela are the best. I also want to thank housekeeping, Ruth and Enrique for always making my room comfortable and clean. And how could I forget my Patient Advocate, Luz! This is the first hospital where I've seen have a patient Advocate and Miss Luz took care of me and not day and night but every day and hour she was here and made sure I was happy and comfortable as often as possible! And a final big thank you to the girl who made it all possible, my Case Manager, Princess! I could go on and on about the staff here at Kindred Santa Ana. I recommend Kindred Santa Ana to ANYONE who needs a Long-Term Acute Care facility!!!

This was the second time my family had experienced Kindred Hospital Santa Ana. The first time was with my mother and the most recent was my sister. Unfortunately, my mother did pass away a few years ago but not to the poor service of the KH system, it was just her time. For my sister, she was brought in for pneumonia where the doctors had to perform a tracheostomy to assist my sister with her ventilator. Overall, the care provided by their surgery, ICU and then general floor staff including the respiratory unit was very good. My sister was given a bleak, initial outlook but due to the services provided by KH-SA and my sister's overall fighting spirit, she was able to be moved from ICU to the general floor and now has been discharged to a sub-acute facility for further recovery and treatment. Our family is grateful to Dora in Admissions, Dennis in Patient Advocacy, and the ICU and general floor nurses for their compassion and care. Thank you, KH-SA!

The staff at Kindred Santa Ana are very knowledgeable and compassionate. They know their stuff. Mom was transferred here heavily sedated. She is now on her road to recovery. The dialysis team, specially Adam, was attentive, and proactive in communicating with the family and medical staff. The nurses were nice as well. Johanna, AJ and Nina made the family at ease. They were very alert when Mom's heart rate was racing and gave timely medication. The patient advocate, Dennis, always checked on the patient and families. On Mom's first day, she was evaluated by the physical therapist, speech therapist and the infusion specialist. The doctors - gastroenterologist, internist and nephrologist visits on a regular basis but come in at various times during the day.

Friendly staff the nurses are excellent I saw how they would help each other out as a team and took good care of their patients they did take a while though on ansering the call button, but other than that I had a good experience.

Kindred Care in Santa Ana has a well experienced team of professionals. My sister had a variety of complications, but Kindred was able to tackle each one and help her to recover from a complicated surgery. Thank you for your integrity and dedication Kindred Care, you made a difference! My only hesitation in giving them 5 stars is that everyone is spread a little thin (which is common in most facilities these days).

I would like to speak on behalf of the staff working here. From a patient prospective, they deserve so much. They provide such amazing work and work so hard. I appreciate so many of them, to list a few, Marcia a CNA, Daisy from Rehab, Jacob a RN, Yolanda a CNA, Robert an RN so sharp and efficient, Luz my Patient Advocate is so sweet and takes the time to speak with me and make sure I am going fine, Ashley my Case Manager she is fantastic, real smart and quick little lady, Jacob from Rehab, and Jacqueline RN need to stay on board, I can't thank them or recognize them enough. These nurses and technicians are a staple to this facility. My doctor's, Dr. Farukhi, Dr. Christina NP, and Dr. Ehsan are HIGHLY recommended to any and all patients. Dr. Farukhi saved my life, God bless all the staff at Kindred Hospital Santa Ana!

I was anxious to have Mom transferred from St. Joseph Hospital to Kindred Hospital Santa Ana. However, this small hospital has provided Mom with excellent care. The nurses - Nina, Johanna and AJ - were very attentive when Mom urgently needed support. There was a stream of nurses, therapists and IV experts who came in and evaluated Mom's issues on her first full day. Their in-house dialysis team is wonderful - especially Adam. They take their time in completing the process. They are alert in monitoring blood pressure and heart rates. They adjust the fluids when Mom had low blood pressure. Dennis, the patient advocate, is fantastic. He talks to the family and listens to their concerns and goals. Some of the doctors also visit on a regular basis.

Kindred Santa Ana has been great for my wife. She has improved tremendously since she has arrived. The nursing staff is very attentive to her needs. The patient advocate, Dennis, also does a wonderful job making sure she is getting good treatment. The doctors have also helped her improve. People here seem to care unlike some other places she has been.
