Beluga points was one of the best places in Alaska I visited during March. It’s about 30 mins from downtown anchorage. The view point is across the road with a railway track crossing through. Excellent views of the mountains, with frozen lakes close by. A little close by they have a small hiking trail as well as excellent pond. Would recommend visiting as it’s a super short drive from anchorage!

Fantastic place! Some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen. There are mountains on one side and a beautiful sea and Island on the other. Great place for drone videos and photography!

Beautiful views from this location. Unfortunately, we did not see any Belugas, even with the use of our binoculars. I would recommend bringing binoculars though for an even better view. Great for photos or for a quick rest stop when traveling down the Seward highway.

Nice pullout with parking and interpretive signage. We've spotted belugas here twice in the last three years, we've had better luck further south. Good spot to bring guests for ample mountain views. Can get very windy at times, so bring your layers. No parking fee or restrooms.

Visited on a partly cloudy Monday night, there were only a handful of people there. So happy I was able to experience this gorgeous sunset! Definitely recommend! NOTE: if you want to get close to the water it is not handicap accessible, you have to cross train tracks. But if you want to stay by the cars there is plenty of designated space to hang out!

Don’t bring your favorite hat, it’s quite windy! And the mom in me says if you want to climb the rocks, wear durable shoes. It’s also quite mucky on the beach :D Gorgeous views and a great place to stop at on the way to Girdwood!

Beautiful but chilly. We didn't stay long or see any whales - not sure if we actually could see whales from there. Easy stop off on the side of the road from Anchorage to Whittier.

It was beautiful it's a great sunny day saw the nursing belugas whales, very difficult to see in this photo but that white section it's in the water or the belugas nursing, think they were like four different pods that day. In one photo the paddle boarder the paddle boarder was pretty far out just difficult to make out but paddle boarders riding the bore tide wave. It was a hot beautiful day with wonderful Cool breeze.

Beautiful scenic stop. Great view of the bay. You can cross the railroad at your own risk and go to the beach as well and climb the small rock outcropping for great views

Likely the most photographed site along Turnagain Arm. I am always impressed on a clear day, with surging tidal forces, and scenic imagery of this place. Today I was able to see Beluga whales, a first for me.

Pulled up fully not expecting to see any actual belugas, just to check out the scenery. We were happily surprised to see 5 belugas rolling around not too far from shore.

Nice drive with views galore. Great place to relax the mind. Not too busy during this season.

Great spot to keep an eye out for beluga whales parking is available slight difficulty getting down to the actual area but once you make it cross the railroad tracks looking twice before you cross you're going to have a great view of the basin

Didn’t see any Belugas sadly, but the view is amazing. (Belugas do in fact visit the site, but are a rare animal to spot.) We did see mountain goats on the opposite cliff face. I recommend bringing binoculars if you want any chance at spotting wildlife.

The snow on the mountains and the shining waters make for a breathtaking sight. The peacefulness of the mountains is a stark reminder we must slow down and enjoy natures beauty. This area is a great place to start.

I didn't think this was any more than a quick roadside stop but we lingered for at least 40 minutes. Great views, can go out and walk around near the water and on the cliffs and hills.

There were no Beluga whales visible in the cold winter month of February. If they are out there they are well camouflaged among the floating chunks of ice. The large tidal changes are clearly evident along the shores here at low tide. If you want to see the Belugas then bring binoculars and wait until Summertime.

A great view point of Turnagain Arm. There is a pod of beluga whale that live in these waters year round and this is supposed to be a nice place to be able to see them when they’re around. We unfortunately didn’t get to see the whales but we were still in awe of the beautiful scenery. This is a well-visited location but they do a great job of keeping it clean and free of trash. When traveling south out of Anchorage on the Alaska highway, take some time and stop at Beluga Point. You’ll be glad you did!

One of my family's favorites! Great stop to stretch the legs, check out the water and have a good look both ways along the inlet. Make sure it's clear when you pull back on the highway and get up to speed quickly as its on a busy bend.

We weren’t lucky enough to see any baloogas while we were out here. But it’s a gorgeous spot to sit for a while. And there’s even some great rocks for climbing! The rock climbing is a bit sketchy just the way I like it.

This place is great. Walked up the trails and explored a great hidden wonderland. You can see so far out, the water is beautiful. If your lookin for a quick adventure I recommend this place.

Beluga point is absolutely grateful ....there's a question as to whether or not you can cross the train tracks to get a better picture. I looked into it and the answer I got so far is that it's not encouraged. And that's as far as they told me. I was told that the train track itself and property 10 ft on other side belongs to the rail station. Watch your step as you're heading down. I recommend this for any family with children older than nine. Be very mindful of the train, on train tracks, the way the sound bounces off the cove, off the freeway, and off the ocean will have that train sneaking up on you faster than a pitbull with an attitude.

Beluga Point on the way south from Anchorage is a nice quick stop for viewing the gorgeous surrounding area. It can get super windy here and my car door almost took me out but that’s great if you want to fly a sturdy kite. There are signs warning people from grass passing onto the railroad but a ton of people do it. Seems like not a great plan.

Pretty stop off area. Parking lot was good sized, however, there is no trail to get to water area. You do have to do some climbing over the rocks, but if you want to stop and snag some groovy photos this is a good spot. Also a good spot to watch the bore tide come in. Alaska is so beautiful!

Spectacular viewing point with free binoculars. The beluga were swimming about but not surfacing. There was a sheep on the cliffs behind us. There was a wedding taking place down by the water.

Mann, what's not to say about this place. ITS NOT HOT!!! Lol. The views that you see at this point are some the most people only see in movies. There is soo much to take in. Beluga Point is just that nice little piece of land that let's you see basically a 360 degree view of mountain ranges. It is absolutely breathtaking.

ITS SO BEAUTIFUL! I went tonight right at sunset. Not to busy, peaceful and just beautiful. No beluga tonight but they'll be here soon!

This is a nice stopping point when headed to Seward. I didn’t get too far from the car as it was windy and I didn’t have a proper jacket. The view is impressive. I can imagine seeing tons of whales if it was the right time and right season. I hope to go back during the summer.

It is good to stop there but we didn't come across belugas, As we drove a little further down the highway we saw people looking excited and taking photos. We stopped and noticed a few beluga wales, only their backs though. It was fun

I come here often from Anchorage to call my 2 sisters in the Lower 48. Very relaxing. Love to watch the water and all the tourists. Years ago, I would drive here to get my twins to nap.

I wish they had stairs to climb down n up the parking lot to the tracks. It's beautiful but be careful crossing

Beluga point is the best view point to stop on the way between Anchorage and Seward. It is one of the best spots in the area to watch sun set behind the mountains in front of the ocean. On the clear day the view is spectacular. Also, it is popular viewpoint for whale watching. We didn’t see any whales, but people who were there a bit earlier saw few Belugas passing by. So they are around and you just need to be lucky.

Some people refer to Alaska as beautiful and a wonderland. I think Majestic sums it up nicely. Beluga point is full of photo opportunity and gorgeous views. My wife and I enjoy coming here for a walk in summer or winter.

Great views, very close to southern Anchorage - all nature lovers should make the drive for a quick visit

My second time here, love this little stop by the side of the road. It's a great chance for whoever's driving to get to take in the beautiful sights along this route. No bathrooms. There's adequate parking, then you can cross over the railroad tracks to a rocky area, with a little beach. Can get medium windy.

The Beluga Point Site is an archaeological site located along the Turnagain Arm of Cook Inlet. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It's named for the Belugas spotted here from July to August to feed on Salmon.
