Nice restaurant next to the Mezquita. The size (it's big) makes it slightly less cozy. To compensate that we had a nice corner table, and were served by a fast and friendly waiter named Isaac. Tapas are good, especially the meat balls with saffron and almond. Good wine, and they have their own craft beer, which is excellent.

I read all the amazing reviews before going there. I think this place is for tourists. The squid was very good. The Flamenquin was the worst I have tried in Spain. The waiters were initially very pleasant, but they were too busy chatting to each other to pay attention to the customers. In our case, they also forgot the bread and the wine.

It’s a nicely decorated and big restaurant in the heart of the city. Make sure to make a reservation otherwise waiting time can be really long. You can find traditional recipes besides usual tapas plates. They offer different sizes of most of the dishes like tapas or full portion as most of the places in Cordoba. I loved the risotto with oxtail. The meatballs in a saffron sauce was tasty too. I have been to many parts in Spain and first time to try Salmorejo here and I kinda liked it. The wine selection is also good and they offer many glass options which is rare. Overall my experience was positive about this restaurant.

Cordoba. Solid good food with very good service! See pics with comments on what we ordered. The host also helped order a taxi for us to catch the train on time.

I was excited to try here and had even booked a table for Christmas Day due to all of the great reviews but have to say I was very disappointed. The servers were great, very polite and spoke in English but most of the food was bad and/or underwhelming. Eggplant was tasty, fried bacalao wasn’t tasty and had bones, calamari was tasty but very salty, meatball sauce was odd and the cheeks were very tender but the sauce was bland. Wouldn’t go back and unfortunately couldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Lunch in February 2024. Food was really tasty. Good presentation of the food and nice ambience. Our waiter Fran was nice and helpful. Was open and serving food at 5pm when many places don't serve food. Taking into account quality and portion size it was good value for money.

Excellent food. We loved everything we ordered. The waiters were nice, friendly and patient. The fried eggplant is a must try. The squid was cooked to perfection.

We visited on NYD and they were very understaffed with staff struggling to keep up. In saying that, we were happy with our wine and not too fussed that all our dishes came out one at a time with time in between. Food was probably the best quality we had (in Cordoba) and prices were expected for the location it’s in.

It’s a huge restaurant with a fairly large menu. We stopped by for lunch and glad we did. The baby squid was delicious! Our server Rodri was very pleasant and attentive, a rarity during our trip.

Very good value for the money! You get varied dishes to choose from- also in size tapas. This is perfect if you are alone and want to try different dishes. Also very good price. Friendly english speaking service. Thank you Antonio and especially Barbara for your suggestions. The carrillada iberica was one of the most delicious dishes I had in Córdoba!

We’ve had a wonderful dinner with my family. Staff was so kind, giving good advice of dishes and wine. We ordered a full potion of baby squid, a full potion of oxtail risotto (really good! Recommended), a full portion of fried calamari, and tapas sizes of cream soup (apparently topical Cordoba dish). It made two adult nicely full :) Thanks to kind staff, especially Javier who served our table tonight. He was so professionally recommended dishes and drinks to us, and made our night very special. Wonderful staff and great food. Highly recommended ;) See you again Javier!

Very delicious and various food. One advice - try to select around 5 -7 different dishes, but in small portion, so you'll be able to taste local food. Very recommended place

Delicious! Great value for money. Very friendly waiting staff. I was recommended a very original dessert from the local area. Clean, pleasant atmosphere and well worth the visit. Their bravas was very nice, cooked from actual potato with their own unique sauce, and the dessert was decent, it reminded me of bread pudding from England. Just to let you know the bravas in the photo is a ration (basically a large portion). I also ordered a flamenquin but forgot to take a photo, I was probably enjoying the food too much.

We knew in Cordoba we had to try oxtails and based on the review, we decided to try Bodegas. It was one of the greatest decisions ee have made. Amazingggg food. Amazing deserts. Can’t recommend this place enough. Dont forget to get bread with your oxtails.

The only reason I gave this restaurant four stars is that it lacks the ambiance of some other bodegas, but the food was outstanding, and so was the service (thank you, Javier!). We tried lots of different tapas, a delicious (and reasonably priced!) bottle of wine, and dessert. The stand-out dish was the orange and cod salad (pictured), which we probably would not have tried if our waiter had not recommended it. It was a great experience overall, and I would definitely return (and ask specifically for Javier).

Amazing food and great service from Rafael. Recommended a perfect wine and made sure we had everything we needed. The meatballs in almond and saffron sauce were our favourites.

Already booked again for tonight! Great food, many choices, even simpler ones has an interesting edge over similar dishes served elsewhere! Our waiter Ruben was very nice and patient when we struggled with picking out the dishes, advising all the way through! Definitely coming back! We had salad with cheese and pear, Mozarabic meatballs, oxtail risotto, chicken tagine and French toast in coconut soup for dessert. Enjoy!

Phenomenal all around- not only was the food absolutely delicious, the staff were incredible. Our server, José, was fantastic and fun and made such a lovely experience for our lunch. If you’re visiting, definitely make this a stop- and it fills up so make a reservation if you can! (We went around 1:15 PM and walked in without needing a reservation, it was packed when we walked out.)

An excellent establishment that served the finest of local/Andulician cuisine. One can tell they work with some of the best local chefs and produce by the quality of the cuisine. Even the olive oil served was excellent and pungent flavour. I started with the oxtail croquettes with mayonnaise. Simple, sublime and delicious. I then tried other regional/national specialties including the oxtail, tortilla, patatas bravas and carillada. All were beautifully cooked and full of flavour with good use of seasoning. Also very reasonably priced for the quality and quantity. I will definitely return.

Excellent dinner. Unique dishes. My server Monica was great and offered great suggestions. I had the shrimp with black ink aioli, the lamb with honey, raisins dnd nuts. Both were amazing. Followed by the Torrija for dessert. With wine.

Delicious croquettes, superb Sangria and world class service by Antonio made our visit to Bodegas Mezquita a real winner. If you're visiting Córdoba make sure you stop by to enjoy the amazing Andalucían cuisine, a cold drink and friendly conversation - our server made us feel like we were old regulars despite being our very first (but surely not the last) time there. Highly recommended!

This was probably the best meal we had during our trip to Andalucia! Our server Javier was super friendly, hopsitable and made the whole dining experience more memorable! Highly highly recommend the mojito tuna - never eaten tuna in this way before but it was so delicious. Make sure to get bread to mop up the extra sauce! The soup of the day was a chickpea stew which was really hearty and filling. The oxtail was delicious as was the aubergine which was both sweet and salty! We went at 7pm and there was not much of a queue. Highly recommend this restaurant!

We had a great experience at Bodegas Mezquita; easily the best food we've had so far in Andalucia! Our server, Jose Rey was wonderful as well. We asked him for a wine recommendation and he did not disappoint, also helped explain everything despite are (really) poor Spanish skills; we had a lot of fun! I echo some of the reviews here about going for multiple smaller portions as everything we had was absolutely delicious. Also, definitely try the stew of the day! You should be in for a treat.

This place the best restaurant I have tried in the whole Spain! It gave us the best taste of Andalusian food. Servers are very nice and hardworking, extra level of taste in food, fair prices and perfect location. Would 10000% recommend! Also try the Olive oil 🫒 there with bread 🥖 the taste of all foods are so authentic 💯

We had our lunch at this charming restaurant next to the Mezquita. The food was tasty and flavorful. We loved the shrimp, ham croquettes and the salad. The service was nice and staff was friendly. Jose and David were really great. Give it a try if you are in Cordoba.

FOOD ordered: Orange and cod salad, almond soup, fried eggplant served with Ximenez sweet wine reduction, pork cheeks stew, and a combination of house desserts; all very delicious. SERVICE: Almost overbearingly attentive. COST before tip: 41.4€ (food + 2 glasses of wine).

Great food and very friendly staff. Located very close to the mosque-cathedral. We went there for a dinner. Tasted the Andalusian cheese platter with marmalade, oxtail croquettes, fried aubergine with honey, gazpacho. All were delicious. The house Rioja was nice. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Glad that I stopped by! Almost every plate you can pick the size you want average or ration, and you can taste a bit of everything! Salmorejo with break basket is the best combination! Must try!

Beer, salmorejo (cold tomato soup), and oxtail cordovan style (average size portion), totals Euro19.40. I think reasonable. Food taste is good. I was give a table by the door despite I asked to be seated more inside the restaurant. She said the tables were reserved (but it was 3pm, I saw quite a few empty tables, and I knew two tables of customers came in without a reservation and were seated inside). I do not know why, just stating the facts.

The Fino and Protos were a real treat. Wow. The food was exceptional. Traditional Spanish dishes prepared with respect. Our waiter was Antonio: muchas gracias for all your attention!!

I was encouraged by tourist guides, it’s indeed famous and has very good fried eggplant. I really like the mazamorra but not a big fan of the oxtail. The Sangria is a bit like sprite. The tortilla de patatas is quite so-so. Dessert is quite good (caramelized French toast with ice cream + cinnamon)

I had a wonderful dinner here on my second night in Cordoba. The food and the service was excellent. I highly recommend this place for a great Andalusian dinner. Very close to the Mezquita.

I really enjoyed my dinner at this restaurant, the waiters are very welcoming and friendly. The fish I ordered was amazing especially with some bread on the side. The dessert is a cherry on top. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Everything is good but not excellent. Cant complain as the price is also not high. Nice service. Perfect for one normal day.
