It’s a little disappointing for us, the quality of food certainly didn’t meet our expectations fir the price we paid. We paid 2x of how much we paid at lunch for the similar food but nothing spectacular at all. The decoration of food was not that great for both main dishes to deserve a picture. The sea urchin is really some kind of foam over raw shrimp without much sea urchin in it at all

Separated into multiple dining rooms all differently decorated and a contemporary tapas bar at the front, we settled in a classic dining room, walls covered with photographs of infamous diners gone by. Following a quick peruse of the menu and vast list of generoso wines, we selected an aperitif from @bodegaselmaestrosierra and tucked in to what would be an incredible meal. -LA TORTILLITA DE CAMARONES DE EL FARO -ERIZO DE MAR RELLENO -JAMÓN IBÉRICO DE JABUGO 5J -TOSTA DE ANCHOAS Y BOQUERONES -RABO DE TORO GUISADO A NUESTRO ESTILO CON PATATAS FRITAS AL MOMENTO Am giving 4/5 stars purely because the service was a little inattentive. It was busy, but it's probably always busy so they should maybe hire a few more staff.

Tired of tapas and looking for something a bit more special? This may be the place for you. A little pricier but well worth it. An extensive and varied menu accompanied by great wines and friendly and helpful service. You won't be disappointed.

Not delicious rice. Small and expensive. On the other hand salad was very delicious . 45 euro for lunch menu in Spain that doesn’t include drink is very expensivd.

THE PLACE NOT TO MISS Perfect place for typical cadiz food at the bar / tapas lounge The service is as good as the food with agreable waiters who take time to recommend food according your taste. The restaurant itself on the other side of this place is probably the best restaurant in town The fact most customers are spanish shows it is definively perfect spanish food Enjoyed very very much this place and the very fresh cuisine and will definitively come back.

Amazing restaurant, very authentic food for a reasonable price. I recommend to stand at the bar if you want to taste your way through the menu (tapas not available inside). My favorite was the fish on laugen bread (very German of me) and although I’m not a big fan of fried stuff I really liked their fried dishes as they didn’t taste as if they were soaked in oil. The meat with the sweet potato purée was insanely good as well. Don’t think I can decide for a favorite dish 🙈

We got recommendation for this restaurant as one of the best in Cadiz. The food was awesome. I had excellent fish - catch of the week. My boyfriend had very good red tuna. Unfortunately I can’t say the same about service. All staff looks angry and their behaviour was quite rude (to all guests not only us). Also the toilet doesn’t look like in a luxury restaurant. So for me one visit was enough. There are many tapas bars in the city with great food, nice staff and similar toilets :D

Excellent lunch and value for the quality!! We ordered the smoked gilt-bream and sea bass - divine! The mil hojas is not to be missed, even if you are full.

Great place for lunch, we sat on one of the small tables and served our tapas one at a time, lovely food and a very large wine list.

Local guides recommended this restaurant to us. It was an excellent suggestion. FOOD: Amazing complimentary boiled potatoes marinated in sherry vinegar and olive oil, a renowned house specialty. Memorably delicious sea urchins. Very good jewfish with chanterelles. Perfectly cooked grilled sea bass. Assertive and delectable goat cream cheesecake and very fragrant hazel nut flan with out of this world mascarpone cream. SERVICE: Impeccable. COST BEFORE TIP: 70.88€ for two people (food + one glass of wine).

Some of the best food I have ever eaten. I so much regret not going back before leaving Cadiz, instead going to the hyped and overrated Casa Lazo. The bartender was old-fashioned in a good way, he had a certain pride in his style of serving. He recommended me a fish and meat tapa, both out of this world, and included was also a fantastic potato tapa plus lots of bread. I can't believe how good this was. I guess I have to go back to Cadiz.

Fancy-ish. Wait staff attentive and professional. Food was great. Wines were a little overpriced but fit with the quality of the service. Lots of great local inspired options.

This restaurant was recommended by Rafael who works at restaurant el Faro del Puerto in puerto Santa Maria. We ate here an evening before. He told suit was the sister of the chef Fernando Córdoba. Since we had a wonderful dinner, we decided to try El Faro in Cádiz as well. So We made a reservation for a lunch. And we had a great experience. We felt very welcome. The ambiance was nice and clean. The food was excellent. We ordered several dishes e.g. oxxtale, rice with seafoodbroth, tenderloin, grilled vegetables and even desert. All was very tasteful, fresh and delicious. We highly recommend this restaurant. Good food, nice people, good quality and good ambiance.

We were lucky enough to walk in and get a table without a reservation. The food was excellent from the fried shrimp, jamon and eggs to the seafood rice to the fillet and fries. It’s very reasonably priced considering the quality of food and the outstanding service. This place puts service at most American restaurants to shame and it is a several levels above the put a plate in front of you and expect a tip service you see in the states. If you don’t try this restaurant when you’re in the area you are missing out.

High end seafood restaurant. Professional cooking and perfect cooking timing. Warm service. Only one improvement,.. see if they can turn the light from bright white to yellow, better atmosphere. The price of Carabineros is quite premium but their cooking is perfect, worth trying!

What a lovely customer service and foods. Alejandro served us in a beautiful way a last minute customer. He accepted us when walked in just 15 minutes before closing time and gave us some advices which we were so happy. Tapas taste was unique and so yummy. Thank you 😊

This restaurant was recommended by hotel reception and tour guide. It didn't disappoint. It serves Michelin quality food at tapas prices because it has a tapas area, that also has seating. They also have waiter service which was first class. We had 5 tapas and a desert, glass of beer and still water 52euro including tip. Cod fish tempura. Beef cannelloni Tuna kofta Prawn fitter Potatoes el faro Tempered chocolate sponge. Absolutely delightful.

I am SO upset. The dinner was yummy and then we get the bill. The waiter had suggested ordering gambas as according to him they were very fresh. Lo and behold the bill for FIVE big shrimp was 190 euros which is $210 USD. $42 a shrimp. And I had to take the poop thing out of the top. I’m so pissed. My family has someone completely fluent in Spanish. For this to have happened is so bad and I’m still reeling from this horrible tourist experience!!

While this may have good ratings, our experience differed. The room we were seated lacked natural light and ventilation, making it less enjoyable. It seems to cater more to locals than to foreigners. Unfortunately, the meat didn't meet our expectations, so we didn't eat it. On the other hand, the fish was decent, but overall, our experience was mixed.

It was a controlled chaos and absolutely efficient. The bartender and staff were actually quite responsive given the huge rush of customers for lunch (1230 to 230pm). We ordered tempura bacalao, croquettes, wines were awesome (local, Spanish and French options by the glass) interior was immaculate. I wouldn't say friendly due to the chaos but very responsive and attentive. This place was offered a Michelin star but refused on the principle that they wanted locals to still have access and anyone to be able to enjoy their food. We only ordered tapas but if we had more time for dinner, their selections are pricier. This is a good rolex for seiko prices. See the photos of the food and the wine list. Definitely will come back to this place.

Go to the bar section and make sure to order the pork cheeks and marinated tuna. Absolutely heavenly.

WORST TASTING MENU EVER… Don’t even know how to describe their food.. frozen tuna, old sea bass ( probably rests from lunch menu.. urchins shells stuffed with something else ( probably fish rests)… fried shrimps was like a shrimp chips from a bad Chinese restaurant… took the bill before receiving the last courses. Had the feeling the waitress felt ashamed serving the food….. The waitress were still good people though…;)

Rrally good, fresh tapas and stuff was very professional. Also there are some interesting tapas that cannot be found on other places.

Sorry to the chef - the tapas were amazing but the service we received was not very friendly, and didn’t create an enjoyable experience. Everything we ordered from the tapas menu was very delicious, but the clams were not nice and we didn’t end up eating them. They were quite large and tasted bitter and murky, not like the sweet fresh taste I am used to when eating clams. Our favourite thing we ordered was the cheese and leek stuffed filo pastry with Pedro ximenez sauce, and very close runner up was the large bean and smoked fish salad, and the potato and chicarrón cróquets. I understand why people are raving about the tapas here, but I will not go back.

Excellent food, wine menu and service. It's great for a quick nibble (there are no seats).

We eat at the bar area, the bartenders/waiters were super friendly :) michelin star style restaurant with a tapas bar soul. Mini shrimp tortillas, tuna cubes and sea urchin were super!

Great tapas, reasonable price if You dine at “the barra”, a bit more expensive if You sit at the restaurant. Tortilla de camarones is unmissable. As most of the other tapas Only downside is the business hours, if You feel hungry for the happy hour, You’ll be disappointed: 20:30 is the opening for dinner…

Nice and upscale restaurant, pricier compared to tapas bars but worth it. Good service and delicious food. Almejas a la marinera and tortillita de camarones are real good.

Very nice ham. Very tasty but not salty. The best ham I had. The deep fried shrimp thing is also very good. I love this place.

Famous establishment since 1946 still run well by Mayte ,daughter of the founder. Pate de cabracho, tortillita de camarones, sea urchin filled with shrimp mousse, seafood rice with clams, rock fish so yummy and superbly executed. Very friendly and timely service. Big thumbs up to Mauri and Marisa.

El faro is divided into two parts: the restaurant and the bar, we were at the bar. We arrived at 21:00 and the bar was packed. We ordered few dishes and we ordered a bottle of white wine- local Chardonnay- for 16 euro. The food was fantastic. Great atmosphere and excellent service.

Beautiful location. We ate there two times in two days. First time we ate lunch. Delicious sea food. You get what you pay for. It's a little pricey but awesome service. Second time for dinner. Reservations required for dining. Again delicious food. Awesome service.

Dropped in at the tapas bar at the recommendation of our Cádizfornia free walking tour guide. We had the El Faro potatoes (papas aliñás), Cádiz specialty and the little shrimp fritter. Really good food, superbly executed dishes.
