2000 years old hill temple. Must visit temple in periyakulam. During festival time they won't allow to top via vehicle. Normal days one can visit the temple through any vehicle. Roads are neat and well maintained. Temple also very clean. The hill temple is old and is believed to be in existence for over 2000 years.  The Temple was believed to be built by Pandya King Maravarman. Also, as per local folklore, there is another belief that the temple was built by a Chola King. So do visit and get lord Sivas blessings. Om namashivaya🙏🏻

kailasanathar temple's main deity is of lord Shiva. This temple is situated on top of the hill, along the road of Theni to Dindigul highway. The view of the western Ghats is so breath-taking and the scenery is so good & eye pleasing from the top of the hill. The lush greenery and this temple is surrounded by the field's and mountains .

Sri Kailasanathar temple arch is on the Periakulam-Theni main road. A tar road leads to the foot hills. Lord Vellai Vinayaka and Chandra Linga greet the devotee at the foot hills. The antiquity of the temple dates back to 1000 years. Sage Agasthya had sung the glory of Lord Kailasanathar and the sacred spring in his hymns. Sage Sattnatha had performed penance here. Western ghats stand as a cover frame to this mount. An old and long iron chain available in the hills shows that a big car was pulled around the hill about 500 years back. Many epigraphic evidences are proof of the antiquity of the temple.
