I bought few meat puffs (porota puffs) from "The Grand" Hotel Aluva, it's costs Rs. 20/- per puffs. Though it's a meat Puffs it has only onion which is cooked in masala and porota covers this masala from 4 sides its got good shape. We did get a single piece of meat from it, masala tastes neutral. Puffs thin upper layer and thick bottom layer. In my opinion it's only a below average puffs, nothing unique in it except it's shape. It noticed this place after watching a Vlog. The Vlogger say a lot about this puffs about is taste and softness. An ordinary puffs meat puffs from other Bakers taste much better that this. I have only tasted meat puffs from this place, I need taste their biriyani and all lot of other dishes are written there in their menu list. What I felt is all items are in affordable price range.

A nostalgic restaurant in Aluva. I ate here for the first time in 1999. Beef Biryani, the taste of which still lingers on the tongue. Porotta puffs is another super delicacy here. It will be ready by three o'clock. Parking space limitation is a major problem. Don't forget to check into the Grant Hotel when you come to Aluva.

Tasted chicken biryani from this place few times. Tasty one and pieces are good. This is a old hotel which is nearer to bank junction, service is good and they are cleaning tables before serving food. Good maintenance. Would have more enjoyed if chicken puff is available with the same texture of beef puff. Meals won't be available here. Vegetarians can only find ghee rice for lunch here. Overall a good visit for non-veg lovers.

The best biriyani in the locality. More than 50 years old. The aesthetics of this hotel is vintage. The hotel is neat. Authentic dishes are served here. Must try. The service is fast. Halal food is only served here. The tea snack dishes are also delicious.

Had mutton biriyani which was good. Had nothing much to complain about. If I have to nitpick something, then the pappadam they served with the biriyani was dead cold. They accept UPI payments. One of the best option in town to have food considering the price to quality ratio.

The great kannur appam. I don’t know why people are rushing to this hotel for have biriyani. Its just a biriyani by my point of view. But I would say, tea & snacks are the best in town. One of the oldest hotel in Aluva; they are famous for CB and return porotta puffs. I usually eat porotta and beef curries from here and they are of great taste. The best non-veg hotel in Aluva, I would say.

Ate porotta, and egg roast, porotta really rubbery one, even though not cooked well, egg roast below average, only sweet taste!!! Milk tea need to written over on glass!!! Absolutely not satisfied!!! Never visit again

After 20 long years, today again entered the 'Aluva Grand Hotel'. It was a famous hotel in Aluva to eat Biryani and Ghee rice at that time. I was a regular visitor at that time. Today's neychor was very disappointing. The rice was not fried at all and had no taste. So I left only the memories of the old taste in my mind.

This hotel has been in existence since 1905. This place is one among the finest for Mutton Biryani. The Parotta and Beef Roast is also a must try. The pricing is reasonable, the place is well kept and clean and has an old school charm. It's a must visit place if you are passing by Aluva or is somewhere near Aluva.

Biriyani is normal and decent with small rice. Quantity of beef in Beef biriyani was less. The hotel has a good ambience of an old building. Menu is very small but the quality of meat they're serving is best. I was satisfied with the taste of biriyani. We ordered one beef, one chicken biriyani and two porotta puffs. For those who read this review, I warn you , Don't order the porotta puffs reading the hype given to it on online. Its just waste of money. After having biriyani, We went to try goli soda sarbath from KV Kammath shop. Its a must try.

Food is good... Tasty... But they have hiked the prices a bit... Old timers need to beware... Expect to be billed approx 200 rs per person...

They have retained the old architecture to the building and have enough seating capacity inside. Please note that there is no parking space for 4 wheelers but the 2 wheelers can be parked on the roadside. The mutton dishes are the famous item and you can also try their puffs which is also great. Second time - I tried their Tea(very good) and pazham roast(with avil stuffing inside) which was different from our normal pazhampori.

Wow that was a relaxing restaurant took us to minimum thirty years back atmosphere of a Kerala style restaurant. Half Beef biryani I ordered was enough for me. Very tasty with kattan chay. Am happy

Great biriyani. Had chicken, egg and mutton biriyani. All biriyanis tasted excellent. The salad, pickle and pappad were also great. Reasonably priced. Their fresh lime was exceptional and costed just 20 rupees. Still has the vintage restaurant charm. Highly recommended for their biriyanis and fresh lime.

Good food , have space to park , I tried porotta and beef roast , porotta is nice soft and fluffy and crispy beef roast is good had a different taste and masala. Not much of masala added it's not much hot and spicy. Good flavored spicy. There is also so many variety of tea snacks which I have never even heard off. This is not my opinion (as I was just a viewer), but all my friends' and cousins' who have experienced the Grand Flavours. My friends had porotta, beef roast, beef curry and chilli chicken from there. Everything was finished in a spree 😀 I even took some parcel of the same, and my ever criticizing aunt was all praise about the porotta and beef. 👌 The building, if u look closer, is all made of wooden pillars, wooden walls, all made 150 years ago. They preserve the building as such in a well maintained condition. Do not expect a 5-star ambience, but u will be 100% satisfied tummy-wise and mentally.🤓☺️

Bought c.biriyani and chicken roast tatse is average but qty is good. Service is not great server told only 4 items in menu since we are from tamilnadu we were not able to communicate properly.
