Great winery in the middle of the town, family owned and served with nice real people. They’ve generously offer complimentary tasting for their premium wines. We’ve had a platter and a few glasses of wines which was greatly served and presented. You wouldn’t think of this nice big winery in a town specially for a victorian wine lovers, but absolutely gorgeously designed inside for some lovely quality time with your friends with some separated rooms

Wonderful wine tasting experience. Tastings are held in what was originally the family home and the setting on a cold winter's day is perfect. The staff are delightful and highly knowledgeable. The red wines here are, in my humble opinion, the NEXT LEVEL.

The Ashmead Family are so generous with their time and will take you through the history of Elderton Estate as well as the Barossa itself, explaining the transition from traditional settlers, fortified wine making, and the modern Barossa that the Elderton Estate represents so well. The Elderton Estate Cellar Door is headed up by a team of fantastic industry career staff that will take the time to walk you through the full range of current vintage and heirloom back vintage wines. Elderton has a wonderful selection of entry level wine that you can enjoy right now, a gorgeous range of mid cellaring Estate wines, and their amazing range of top international competitive wines are a must in any cellar collection. Try them all and buy a selection of white and reds to enjoy all year round or put down in anticipation of what is to come from careful cellaring.

Lovely original homestead with the most friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit with our favourite being the dessert wine. Also some great tips shared by the staff for local accommodation and places to see thank you.

Had a fantastic tasting with the Lovely Jodhi today. Wines were stunning, and beautifully paired back, showcasing some Wonderful fruit and a richness in flavours. Highly recommend a tasting here.

We visited Elderton Wines in July 2022, as part of our Barossa Valley Trip. We were fortunate enough to take part in a tasting of some of their premium reds which were accompanied by cheese. The lady that guided us through the tasting was fantastic with her knowledge of the wines and the family history. Definitely one of my favourite wineries.

I have been going to Elderton for about 30 years now, so the wines are no surprise any more, they're always great. We visited mid-morning in the middle of the week. What a great time we had. As well as the cellar door manager the winemakers joined in as well. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the property and of course the wines. There were a few jovial remarks being thrown around as well. The wines are excellent, and I use them as a go-to for dinner parties or BBQs. Thoroughly recommend them.

For my birthday the family booked a Wine and Cheese Pairing Experience at Elderton. The wines were excellent and went so well with the selection of cheeses. Our host guided us through the tasting expertly and told some great stories about the wines. The private room we were in added to the experience - very nice. I look forward to doing another tasting - perhaps the Wine and Chocolate matching.

Whilst I now live in the U.S., every time that I am back home in Adelaide I make time to visit Elderton Wines. It is such a wonderful cellar door experience, the staff are so bubbly, and owner Cameron Ashmead is always open for a chat. Back in the day, the 1996 and 1999 CSM were my go-to, and now the "Ode to Lorraine", and the COMMAND Shiraz, is straight from the Gods.

We have been enjoying Elderton wine for approximately 15 years and it's our favorite label. As a result of our purchases, Phil (my husband) is an Elderton Commander. Along with this title is an invitation to the annual Commander's luncheon at the winery at Nuriootpa in the Barossa Valley, with members of the Ashmead family and other lovers of Elderton Wines. Beautiful food along with outstanding wines is served throughout the afternoon. We have also stayed in the Elderton Accommodation in Nuriootpa while attending this fantastic afternoon and can recommend this to future travelers to the Barossa Valley. All purchases either by phone or online arrive safely on our doorstep within a week. The new Cellar Door is one of the best we have visited and the staff is second to none. Our love of the Elderton Wines is so great that we chose to purchase and serve it at our sons wedding and received many rave reviews from our guests. Cheers, Phil and Colleen Aikman

Carolyn served us here and she was fantastic. Really enjoyed chatting to her and hearing about the history of Barossa and the vineyards. What a location! Drive through the wine fields to get to the old homestead turned cellar door. Great staff and a cute old ginger kitty, this place has lots of history and is well renovated. The wines are smooth and our favourite of the region now. Sit by the fireplace for a warm atmosphere on a comfy couch

Recently did the Elite tasting experience with Cameron, having tasted the first Helbig '15 some years ago and the Command often. Cam's deep knowledge and passion were generously shared with my boys & me and we had a great time. So much so that we left a sizeable amount on wine buys, including 2 Helbigs to carry us through the rest of the week. Do the "Elite" too - it's so worthwhile.

Thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting experience and the accompanying local cheeses and produce. Our host was very informative and mixed in some fun history. The renovations to the homestead are stunning and it really was a lovely experience. Highly recommend!

Toasties and tastings was a great way to have lunch with matched wines. The toasties were really well made and tasty. And the building is very atmospheric so sitting on leather couches beside the fireplace was great. Would recommend.

The winery hosted us with a wide range of tastings in both white and red. The hits were the reds named after the winemakers.

We finished up a day of tastings here, and we're very comfy on leather lounges. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about their product but also about the regions other wineries and places to eat. The wine we tasted were excellent, with great examples of Barossa staple Shiraz. Elderton Merlot was good for an often overlooked variety, and Golden Semillion enjoyed by my friends who like a sweet wine.

We stopped in near the end of the day hoping to catch a taste on the way back to our hotel. My wife and I join the ranks of Cameron fans in these reviews. He quickly assessed our interest and poured tastes through the Elderton lineup accompanied by interesting anecdotes. We left with a few bottles and renewed interest in Elderton’s offerings.

After being ignored by a rather famous winery across the road 😳. I trusted my Google recommendation & am so glad I went to Elderton. Cameron is an excellent host & produced some wonderful stories and in-depth knowledge of the products. Beautiful surroundings and absolutely delicious wines. Spent way more than I expected, but so totally worth it 👍
