Consistently serving authentic Chinese dishes. Their roast meats were perfect, and tofu with shredded beef was so good too. Service is attentive and staffs are pleasant.

I’m ate the because my friend’s birthday occasion. So we ate in the private rooms who can fit 20 pax (2 round tables). The food is presented authentic chinese cuisined, we ate one set menu and most of them it’s delicious and they also served the bird wallet (pretty rare to find the good one in Makati area). The service is also responsive and the staff is friendly, they helped us to make birthday surprise, nice job!

We made a reservation and it's a good thing too because the place was almost full. It's a good thing we have senior citizens so the guard was able to accommodate us and let us park near the ramp. The food we ordered were flavorful. Highly recommended are the Hong Kong Chicken, fish fillet with tofu, and the French beans with garlic. We ordered the sesame balls for dessert and they have a lot of filling compared to the ones from other restaurants. I also tried the taho with ginger juice and it was light. Rates are on the pricey side but all were worth it. The service was very warm and attentive. The staff are commendable.

I'm cantonese. I'm giving star for the freshness of ingredients. But the taste and flavour not balance at all. Way too sweet. Example sweet and sour prawn I only taste sweet. Maybe chef forgot to add vinegar and salt. Over 14 course meal, only steam prawn and fish is good because it doesn't require much flavour. Honestly restaurant at Dampa seaside has better flavour cantonese food.

Food is great and not that pricey. Crowded even during weekdays. Parking can be a bit of a hassle.

We ordered medium portions but could not finish it. Our choice was little too sweet but from fresh sea food and tasty.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in Makati! Authentic, topnotch service, good value for price. Peking duck presentation, taste, and texture is superior. Crab and corn soup is amazing and has actual crab. Their cold cuts is one of my favorites in their menu. Great pancit too — my dad who is a big pancit connoisseur definitely agrees. For sure one of my go-to restaurants for special occasions.

Overpriced. Food OK, but not very good. I ordered takeaway. My invoice included 80 pesos for the packaging! It was only ordinary paper packaging. I travel very expensively all over the world. I have never experienced this before!!!

My experience at Hai Shin Lou Restaurant left much to be desired. The fried shrimps in salted egg, rather than delivering the rich flavor of salted egg, tasted more like margarine, leaving a disappointing impression on my palate. Additionally, the steamed Lapu Lapu failed to meet expectations, as it turned out to be rubbery and lacked the desired taste. One significant drawback was the extended wait time for the food, with desserts being particularly delayed. This prolonged waiting period diminished the overall dining experience, contributing to a less-than-satisfactory visit to Hai Shin Lou. In summary, the restaurant fell short of expectations, with notable issues in both the quality of dishes and service efficiency.

Quality of food is above average. It's not something I will always look for but definitely a treat I will appreciate.

Really good food. Highly recommend the siomai, salted fish fried rice and the sweet and sour pork. For weekend and dinner dine ins, highly suggest calling in advance and get a table reserved as the place is almost always fully booked.

Review for take out - shabu shabu set for 8 with hot prawn salad, taro rice. Quality is slowly declining, this is our go to order since the pandemic, we gladly ordered this set during the pandemic. But now since dine in his been slowly picking up.. We had to complain and ask for replacements for food that taste frozen then cooked. I literally had to drive to the resto and complain before getting our items replaced. But why is our food slowly getting smaller in quantity, staff thinks we hadn't noticed that the weight of the meats and seafood had been getting lesser. When we noticed, not even an offer to make it up to us. Take care of your customers Hope the old manager is healthy to check the orders like they used too.

Highly recommended for Cantonese cuisine with very well balanced flavours. One of my family's choice Chinese restaurants that never disappoints.

Advance booking was a breeze, with just one call I was able to get a booking for the following day. This was on April 2, 2022, this was a long awaited family lauriat during the covid-19 lull. I was part of the advance party so I made sure to come at our appointed time of 11:00 am. Initially got lost as they had another location along the same street where their delivery van was parked. It's good that the resto location was only about 100 or so meters away from there. Soon as we arrived, we started ordering one of the set meals for 10 pax plus a few dimsum. While the food was cooking, we had time to chat, take some pictures, and have a few laughs. Within half an hour or less, they were already serving our order one dish after another, we didn't have to wait long. The waiters were very attentive to our requests and offered to take our pictures. Restrooms were spotless and well supplied. We enjoyed our family bonding at Hai Shin Lou.

It's sad that a once bustling place is sorely affected by the pandemic quarantine restrictions..but the taste of the food is as excellent as ever, even if the menu has been downsized (I miss the fried pork puff😭). The tables and seats are appropriately distanced, contact tracing and hygiene protocols are in place.

Ordered New Year’s Eve dinner 3 days in advance and paid. Had driver pick up food at 530 pm and he was there on time. The food didn’t come out till 730 pm and this was supposed to be New Year’s eve dinner. UNRELIABLE FOR PICK UP FOOD.

This restaurant has never disappointed since it opened about 20 years ago. Originally known as Hei Chin Ro, the food and service are superb. Well worth the visit and the mud crabs!
