Terminated my membership at this gym not long ago after working out here for 7 months. My experience was pretty mixed. They have just about every machine you could need which is cool, despite the gym being a bit more on the smaller side. I completely appreciate the hardcore, pro-police/military culture they’re trying to cultivate too. There were a few times though when I was treated kinda rudely by other patrons (and maybe a staff member?) completely out of the blue. It ended up leaving a bad taste in my mouth and that’s ultimately why I chose to leave. Atmosphere feels weirdly off in there. Kinda like a “social club you have to be invited to” One thing I’d suggest the owner do is buy more plates for the racks. I often found myself having to walk clear across to the other side of the gym to find a plate in the size I was looking for.

The jiu jitsu in the mornings & evenings is excellent, very knowledgeable instructors. The Muay Thai classes are just hands down excellent. The Muay Thai instructor is proficient and knowledgeable in all aspects. He is very thorough in the demonstration portion of training. The training regimen is efficient for all levels. Overall if you wish to continue your training or begin your training, the Bull and Bear gym is the place for you.

This place is awesome! It’s a real gym that offers the atmosphere you want when going in to get a serious lift in. The members and staff are all like family and are all very friendly and polite and always helpful. The float tank they have is a hidden gem here in the area and if you have never used it you have to try it out! They offer an infrared sauna and also jujitsu classes as a side bonus! If your wanting an atmosphere to get you in the mid set to make some gains then this is the place for you!

Top notch facility. They have everything you need. From fitness training to combatives training. Staff is very friendly. First time using a Float Tank today and...WOW. I have osteoarthritis and still recovering from my second hip replacement. The session left me feeling amazing. Will be adding floats to my recovery. The float tank room is on par with a fancy spa feeling and very clean.

Experienced firsthand today how great not only the owner and staff, but also the members are here. Currently stuck in my membership with Gold’s for a couple more months, but as soon as that’s up (or maybe even before), I will sign up here. Great place and great people. This gym has everything you could ever need and more to get in a good session.

I absolutely love this place already. Bull & Bear know exactly what they are doing. They have everything you need in one spot, and nothing that you don’t. Great atmosphere and great staff. If you’re not going here, do you really gym bro?

Enjoyed the last 4 yrs. Working out typically 4 days a week at Bull and Bear. Compared to a dozen gyms i have worked out in, Bull & Bear is top class in equipment, people , friendships made, comradery , ease of working on equipent without waiting, new renovations , clean and military mantra. Overall a top notch gym if you want a no frills workout and focus approach to training. Gary Stevens Usmc msgt ret

I’ve been doing jujitsu for about 3 months and have nothing but amazing things to say about the instructors and other people that go to the gym.

Great first impression! Went into Bull & Bear for the first time today, and was met by some great people who showed me around as the front desk was busy (which was no big deal). They added an addition recently for the powerlifters a nice rogue bench, calibrated? KG plates, 1/4 inch pin squat rack. The equipment is older hammer strength (just what I like personally) with some cybex equipment mixed in. This is a smaller gym, with an area for Ju Jitsu, etc (they had a class going on when I walked in). Wasn't too busy for the size of the gym at all, dumbbells go up to 125lbs, the powerlifting area had room for deadlifts, 2-3 benches and the squat rack. The non powerlifting area had a few squat deadlifting (with platforms) combo racks, ample amount of chest, back, leg, and shoulder machines. They also had stair masters, treadmills, etc. If you're looking for brand new, "fancy" equipment this is probably not the place you'd prioritize (outside of some nice powerlifting items). However, if you're looking for a smaller, less packed, let's get in and get the job done type of gym (as I am) I'd say this is the ideal spot if you live anywhere from South part of Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, or Fuquay. The other gyms in the area are more commercial and more packed. Thanks again for the introductions by a few members, and being very welcoming.

These guys are the best what a staff.amazing instructors. The morning classes are great for fitness and learning the gentle art of folding people in half. They even have an afternoon class if you work at night where he trains law enforcement on how to defend themselves .

Float Tank First Timer - Totally Recommended Sore from training, and over-stimulated from staring at a computer screen all week, I was thrilled to take me a float at Bull & Bear. I totally loved it. I haven’t experienced a float tank before, so I didn’t know what to expect. Within minutes, my mind was calmed like I was deep in meditation. The experience was soothing and rejuvenating. Although I think I may have dozed off during the float. When I came out of the tank I felt like I fell asleep in a movie theater. I injured my back pretty extensively about 18 months ago. Soaking in a tub was part of my physical therapy regimen. I wish I had access to a float tank back then. It would have been accessible from my wheel chair, and I would have benefited so much from using it. It took all the pressure off my back! Another perk of the tank is the size. I’m over 6' tall, so actually being able to fit was great. I haven’t fit in a bathtub for a soak since I was in grade school. As for the club. It’s totally flipping awesome. Especially if you like to workout. If you go to the gym to text on the phone and snapchat with friends, this isn’t the place for you. People are there to work and work hard. Sure the members know what they're doing and look amazing, but they're some of the nicest people you'll ever meet, too.

Great atmosphere. Most people keep to themselves or are all about socializing. It’s a great mix. I enjoy having everything I need in one place. Jiu Jitsu, bjj, wrestling, boxing, weight lifting and cardio all in one place.

Just joined this place is amazing, a lifters gym with a family atmosphere and no egos. Literally took me 3 minutes to sign up. No bs, not trying to sell me anything. I love the weights
