Pokagon is an AMAZING park... but DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING THROUGH THE INN!!! The Potawatomi Inn is filled with unprofessional people who do not think getting back to you about your concerns is worth their time. After booking and paying for the Inn for my wedding, they tell me last minute that it is going to be under construction and were absolutely unwilling to accommodate me in any other way. Per contract I was due a refund. For 4 whole weeks I had to play phone tag and call daily to finally get my refund a full month after I requested it. On top of all that, I lost my deposit on my photographer, and also had to find a new venue, caterers, etc. last minute. Again, I absolutely love the park, it is a beauty. But if you want to save yourself some major stress and let-down, do not book anything through the Inn.

Lake was beautiful and very clean. Wonderful trails through the woods. They had inside swimming besides plus horseback riding and game rooms. Comfortable and lovely places to sit inside and outside. Volleyball nets for the young. Just a perfect getaway. I love how some of the older rooms were so historical. Can't wait to go back.

We loved the location. However, they leave much to be desired. First complaint, the beds are SO STIFF it was like sleeping on plyboard. Had to pay $10 extra for a fridge then found out all of the bottom floor rooms come with it included in the price. They charged the bride and groom extra for a table for the DJ to set up where the ceremony was. 3 people we had in the wedding party had to have showers/drains fixed, including us. Our drain was not draining. Some rooms have jets in the tub and some don't. I did not. Even pillows were stiff. Loved the environment and the aesthetics. Needs better execution. The gentlemen who worked both nights was super nice and once I did authorize the extra charge to my room, he brought it up within an hour but he had to fix someone's toilet leaking before he could bring it up. I don't blame him, he was as accommodating as he could be, and I'm sure, just following the rules set before him.

Money hungry business… This hotel is in a beautiful location, and the trails are wonderful to walk around. Unfortunately our stay at the hotel was not as wonderful. Traveling across the country my husband and I were excited to end a day of driving a bit earlier than usual. We called hours before arriving to book our night. We were quoted $149 for one of the cabins, because they didn’t have any dog friendly rooms available in the hotel itself, we were excited about that! I pull in first and have to pay $9 even though we were staying at the hotel, I was confused by this but paid anyway. My husband on the other hand told me he was able to just drive right through. We go to check in, and the front desk representative seems confused when we say we have a cabin, she can’t find our reservation, she asks who we spoke with( we don’t know!) then finally after minutes of her looking through the computer she said we have a room in the hotel. We said fine, but we have a dog. Then she says, “oh well that won’t work because this ain’t a pet friendly room you have booked.” We again said, we’ll we know you didn’t have any more rooms here that’s why we were told we would be in a cabin. Another few minutes go by of her frantically searching the computer and she says there is actually a little note here on the reservation that says we are OK to have a dog in this room. Great! Then she tells us, we actually owe $159. I said, no. That’s not what we were quoted, and she said someone must have given us the wrong quote. We asked if the cabins were the same price as the rooms, she said yes. This was also incorrect, we find out later. We pay what we need to and go to the room. There are stains on the floor , a blood stain on a pillow, no fridge, the air vent fan in the room was extremely loud. The pool and sauna were great.. for the first night. We decided we wanted an additional day off from driving the next day for ourselves and the dog, so we can explore the grounds. We go to the front desk and ask now a different representative the price to stay in the same room for tomorrow. He tells us it would be $180! Oh and also mentions we owe them an additional $11 right now. what!?! The first representative miss-charged us. I asked what if we didn’t come to the desk right now or at check out? His response “ we would have just taken the $11 from the card on file.” I don’t think I was being rude at all, but I did end up saying that this is kind of ridiculous, we are here wanting to stay another night you guys and your upcharging the room and trying to get more money from us from one of your employees mistakes. From what I know of customer service, you would eat that $11 because that’s on one of your employees that was in the wrong. I asked why we couldn’t get the room at the same rate as tonight and blah blah in the end we didn’t end up getting any sort of deal or help the guy just kept explaining the fees. This place is money hungry, and does not have great customer service. The sauna didn’t work the 2nd night, which is something I was really Looking forward to using again. We would not stay here again.

We have always enjoyed going to the inn every winter to just relax by the fireplace. This year, the fireplace was not working and every time we would ask at the front desk we were told the maintenance worker is going to go and fix it which never happened. Then we were told it has been broken for months. The food in the restaurant was cold, tough meat, and expensive. They no longer offer complimentary coffee and tea. You can only buy it when the restaurant is open. The faucet in the bathroom was not working properly so we called but nobody came to fix it. Needless to say it will not be a destination on our list in the future.

The inn needs better access to free coffee in the lobby for guests. We had to boy coffee from the front desk. Our wedding reception was shut down early because of the music being too loud after 10 pm even though the booking was till 11pm. Also, the WIFi and phone service was not good which is bad if you're trying to organize a wedding event.

The grounds and inn are gorgeous. Some of the staff were wonderful, some not so much. The room was ok. It was tiny and water dripped from the ceiling vent continually. The bed was comfortable. The food at the restaurant was disappointing (who doesn't put any chicken in a chicken pot pie?). We opted to leave the park for any remaining meals. We completed the Hell's Point Challenge, but not without getting lost twice as there are no markings on the trails to tell you which way to go to complete the challenge. With several crossroads through the hike, it is easy to make a wrong turn. With my autoimmune issue, the extra 2 miles or so we walked were painful. All of that being said, the views were stunning and the wildlife was truly a special surprise for this nature lover.

Stayed four nights in a double queen room. The room was very spacious and clean. Most of the staff were polite. The pool and hot tub were spacious and the temperature was just right in both. Overall, the inn is beautiful, relaxing and well kept with pleasant staff. Would love to see some minor upgrades in the aquatic area. Had a great time.

Been coming to Potawatomi Inn since I was a kid. Now with Grandkids. Love the lodge, the views, tobogganing and the quaint family atmosphere. The pool area needs a total renovation and deep clean. Small TV doesn't bother us as in all the years never had it on. Our room temp was nearly 75 no matter what we turned thermostat to and had to fix a couple small room issues ourselves. One MAJOR complaint was our kids arrived a day before us and couldn't get in their rooms three and a half hours AfTER 4pm check in (730pm) and was only offered a 10% discount. They have 3 small kids. That was totally unacceptable.

Can't rate the rooms as we were only there for the day to have the Christmas Eve Buffet and have fun on the toboggan run. The parts of the Inn we did see were very clean and well maintained. The service and food at the buffet were delicious! Plenty of choices and very fresh.

We scheduled our trip based on the availability of a pet-friendly room. We arrived at 10:30pm to a room that smelled strongly of urine. Staff handed us a can of powdered deodorizer and told us there were no other rooms for us. Of course we checked out first thing the next day and left, cancelling our vacation at Pokagon Park completely.
