Andalur kavu is a famous and prominent temple in Andalur in Dharmadam village of Kannur district, North Kerala. This old temple is in the name of Lord Rama and the main festival is celebrated in mid-February: the first week of the month "Kumbam" of the Malayalam Calendar.

Andaloor kavu is a temple where the theyyam ritual is performed in the festival season. The theyyam in this temple is based on the Ramayana. It is the one temple, most people gather in andaloor during the festival season.

Don't know much about the place really. Visited the place for a marriage event. I went with group of people, after the event we went to the park to hangout for some time. The place was really good, it was clean and maintained. It's accessible from the road and much more visible from the place. No charge for entrance, no restriction for photography. Enjoyed with group of people and spent sometimes.

Theyyam kavu where you can see many roles in Ramayanam shown through theyyam. It is a big festival in this area where the whole villagers follow vegetarian food during the whole festival season. There are fire crackers and fair also during the festival. The place is bit crowded on the main days.

Andalur Kavu, located at Andalur in Dharmadam village of Thalassery, is one of the ancient temples in North Malabar region of Kerala and is believed to have been built by the Sage Parasurama, the fifth version of Lord Vishnu. There are two Kavus [shrine] in the temple – Mele Kavu [Upper Shrine] represented as Ayodhya and the Thazhe Kavu [Lower Shrine] as Darika.
