Kanch
Mandir
is
actually
a
Jain
Temple
located
at
Indore.
Indore
abounds
in
numerous
temples
and
heritage
sires.
One
of
them
is
the
Kanch
Mandir.
This
temple
is
one
of
the
prime
attractions
at
Indore
at
present.
The
Jains
are
supposed
to
be
the
followers
of
Mahavira.
It
is
a
stringent
religion
and
harder
than
Buddhism.
Mahavira
was
the
last
Tirthankara.
A
Tirthankara
is
the
one
who
creates
the
four
fold
order
namely
the
Monk,
Nun,
Layman
and
the
laywoman.
There
are
two
different
sects
of
Jains.
They
are
Digamvara
and
the
Svetambara.
While
the
latter
wears
white
clothes
the
latter
does
not
wear
any.
Jainism
has
been
elaborately
inscribed
in
the
glass
paintings
of
the
Kanch
Mandir,
Indore.
The
Kanch
Mandir
in
Indore
is
basically
constructed
from
glass
cuttings.
The
glasses
are
colored
and
display
rare
originality
and
splendor.
The
Jain
king
also
known
as
the
Cotton
King,
Sir
Hukamchand
erected
the
Kanch
Mandir.
It
was
built
in
the
20th
Century
and
the
materials
for
the
temple
have
been
collected
from
the
various
sources
like
Italy
and
Europe.
