The Maidu Museum & Historic Site is an Interpretive Center museum dedicated to public education about the Maidu peoples. The museum sits at an ancient site where Nisenan Maidu families lived for 3,000 years. Not well maintained, some rooms are locked not able to see all things..

Unfortunately in a state of utter derelict, with the museum covered in dust. The exhibits and the posters though are very insightful and are of great interest for someone with interest in geology or in the geological history of the land they stand upon.

There couldn't be a more horrible way to showcase and preserve paleolithic finds. Fossilised Dinosaur brains and poop lay on the floor. No barricades, no glass, no air tight means to preserve them. Fossilised Dinosaur eggs in giant rocks just stand testament to all kinds of weather outside the museum building, prone to all kinds of wear and tear. No security guards, no cameras, nothing! One could just take away chunks of those and no one would even know something is missing. Beyond pathetic is what the maintenance is, over there. Bad work, Madhya Pradesh tourism! One would expect better, considering it is one of the largest paleo era sites in the country.

Not at all maintained. It was a good initiative and very well developed but the management have not at all taken any pain to maintain the display area or the open area. They need to have a major overhaul to come back in shape.

๐Ÿ‘ We were amaze to see a dinosaur fossil museum on our way to Mandu. But soon realised that the park is still in itโ€™s developing stage and few fossils were on Display. Entry fee is Rupees 10 only and one can spend 10-15 minutes max! A strictly one time visit place!
