It was my 1st stay in AHILYA FORT HERITAGE HOTEL and I must say that “My stay was short and sweet.” The hotel was beautifully designed with great architecture. You will feel it once you enter the Lobby. Since my stay was just for a day, I could not able to see the facilities. This place is very perfect for tourist to avail the premium services. They provide me a huge room with splendid view. All the staff members were highly polite and professional and made my stay a memorable one. The food was awesome. Overall my experience was good and will surely visit again.

A historic place near Indore Madhya Pradesh. 90 kms from Indore. It used to be the capital of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. It's a very peaceful place. There's a beautiful fort at the banks of holy river Narmada. It's a nice place to visit with friends and family. Maheshwari saarees are world famous. These sarees are hand woven by the traditional method. The handloom workers are doing this job from generations. If you want to get the same in good prices you should visit the main market in Maheshwar. Don't buy it from the fort as it's quite costly. Abhinav handloom is a very good shop in Maheshwar for sarees. So many movies are shot at the banks of river Narmada here in front of the fort. Bajirao Mastani, Padman and Dabang 3 are to name a few. Also there is a resort of Madhya Pradesh Tourism wherein you can also take river side cottages. The view is just lovely and the experience is unmatched.

Beautiful fort converted into hotel. The Ahilya Fort named after Ahilya Bai Holkar of the Holkar dynasty of Malwa who was forced to take over the reins when both her husband and father in law died prematurely. She moved her capital to Maheshwar and made the Fort her royal seat. She was great devotee of the holy Narmada river flowing in Maheshwar and built temples to Lord Shiva all over the land. Must visit to appreciate the beauty and splendour of the place.

Beautiful and serene. Peaceful and spiritual. We reached around 1830 hrs, tired from the journey but on reaching the place and seeing the banks of narmada river, we were rejuvenated. Feeling the cold breeze of the river made us forget the hot weather we had encountered all our way and refreshed us for forward journey. A ride into the river with boat and seeing the sunset was awesome. Also the folks taking dips in the river and people cheering for the movie shooting of Salman Khan was amazing. We could have spent the entire night at the river bank but because of limitation of time had to leave early.

History and Magnificence Quaint, stunning, historic. The fort is all these things and more. We stayed at the Arjuna tent with the view of the temple and the river - I loved it, but it was a bit noisy as it is close to the fort wall. Loved the tea and drinks in the garden. We opted for the sunset boat ride on the Narmada which an unforgettable, magical experience. I loved the library and the temples on campus as well as the weavers of REWA (right outside the fort walls). The food was usually great, but the quality was sometimes uneven

Beautiful Fort on the banks of the sacred Narmada River with a section converted into a heritage hotel. Rooms are aesthetically set up. Terraces have lovely views across the river and the ghats. Staff are courteous and attentive. We are enjoying our stay so far. Mobile Internet is a bit patchy giving one a chance to detox! Most rooms and terraces / view points involve stairs.

I highly recommend this establishment for an exceptional Indian dining experience. It stands out as one of the best places in the city to enjoy authentic Indian cuisine while having a pleasant dining experience. During my recent visit, I was impressed by the attentive and friendly staff, as well as the inviting atmosphere. The dishes were flavorful, delicious, and made with fresh ingredients. The overall visit was excellent, with timely service. I enthusiastically recommend this hidden gem to everyone. It offers a fantastic dining experience with mostly great food. The staff is wonderful, and the well-appointed rooms add to the experience. Please note that rooms facing the temple side may be noisy in the mornings. While we did encounter a cobra near the pool, it's important to remember that this is a region known for snakes. Overall, the hotel and its surroundings provide an exotic India experience that ticks all the boxes.

We had a wonderful experience staying at Ahilya Fort Heritage Hotel. The food is just amazing (They use veggies from their own farm)! Stay at Narmada Suite, if available (Narmada Suite is always booked). The Suite has stunning views of river Narmada! Will visit again soon! Shout out to Anil, Roshan, Kunta Bai and Catering and Housekeeping staff for being super sweet and courteous!

The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way possible. The first thing that caught my attention upon arrival was the friendly and welcoming staff, who were very attentive to our needs and made us feel at home throughout our stay. The room we stayed in was magnificent, it was tastefully decorated with a perfect blend of modern amenities and vintage charm. It was spotless and had all the essential amenities that we needed such as clean towels, toiletries, and a comfortable bed. The view from our room was breathtaking and we could even hear the soothing sound of the nearby river. The hotel's architecture and decoration screamed history and heritage. It was fascinating to learn about the rich history of the hotel from the staff and I enjoyed exploring the different corners of the hotel and admiring the vintage interior design.

stayed on 22/08/22 If you are a vegetarian food is very bad, they don’t have options. There are a lot of hidden charges at this place, it charges per person along with room. So please make sure they don’t scam you. The management is very rude, There is not sense of hospitality. maharaja is just passing time without focusing on his hotel & its services. They don’t take any feedback. General manager is very rude, he uses foul language even on his guest.

An absolutely gorgeous property overlooking Maa Narmada river. Words cannot describe the beauty of the property. Every nook and corner is decorated beautifully and is delightful. The rooms are nice and spacious as are the bathrooms. Very tastefully decorated. All linens are excellent. The service and hospitality are top notch. The staff was very attentive and took very good care of us. Special mention of Kunta ji who was an excellent hostess. The food which is curated by Mr Richard Holkar was excellent. We really enjoyed the location of the dinner which is different every night and decorated beautifully. If you are reaching on Sunday keep your booking handy as the city officials close main roads and don't allow cars to enter. They will allow you once you show the booking.

Great view, lovely heritage and architecture. Must visit the handlooms, they are pitlooms and are a place that transport you back in a time machine. It's preserved yet functions beautifully. The ghats are a lovely view as well, would recommend a boat ride when there.

It all comes down to three aspects 1. People - they are ready to help with a smiling face and so pleasant. Non intrusive but available when you need them. 2. Food - quality of food was impeccable and just the right quantity. In addition the tea and cookies served on the boat ride and the snacks around 730pm are bonus additions. 3. Location - with the mighty Narmada flowing below and the activity on the ghats / temples nearby, the ambience is just spectacular. Overall a great stay and would visit again.

I think anyone looking for a dining experience should check out this establishment. This restaurant is one of the few in the city that provides authentic Indian cuisine together with a welcoming atmosphere. I had the pleasure of dining here recently, and it was a lovely experience. The environment was rather welcoming, and the personnel was really kind and attentive. The food was excellent and full of flavor. The meal was prepared with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. Overall, the visit was excellent, and the service was prompt. I would advise everyone to eat at this place.

My recent stay at Hotel Ahilya was a complete disaster. This place is so overrated. First of all, the location is terrible; it's right by the river, but there's nothing to do around there. The architecture is outdated and feels like you're stuck in the past. The rooms are small and cramped, and the so-called "local art" looks like it was bought at a flea market. The gardens are a mess, full of bugs and overgrown plants - not a peaceful sanctuary at all. The food was mediocre at best, and dining under the stars meant getting eaten alive by mosquitoes. The staff were unhelpful and seemed like they didn't want to be there. Hotel Ahilya is a waste of money and a terrible experience. Avoid at all costs!

The hotel and it's surroundings tick all the boxes for an exotic India experience.

hotel's staffing in other areas, such as housekeeping and concierge services, was equally commendable. The housekeeping staff maintained the cleanliness and tidiness of my room, ensuring that it was always in a pristine condition. They were also respectful of my privacy and attended to any additional requests promptly. The concierge staff were extremely helpful in providing information about local attractions, arranging transportation, and offering recommendations for dining and entertainment options. Their knowledge and enthusiasm greatly enhanced my overall stay.

The one who is looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay in Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh in India for exploring historical places, natures and temples then I will highly recommend this hotel as it has great value for money. Heritage Setting: The hotel is situated within a 250 year old fort, which provides a unique and enchanting experience to the guests. It has been beautifully renovated to retain the original grandeur of the fort. Accommodation: The hotel offers a range of well-appointed rooms and suites, each equipped with traditional charm and modern amenities. Rooms often feature elegant decor, antique furniture, and spectacular views of the fort or river. Hotel Ahilya Fort Heritage Hotel is known for its fine dining experience. Guests can enjoy a variety of authentic Indian and continental cuisine, often prepared using the freshest local ingredients. The hotel's restaurants offer beautiful views and a serene atmosphere. I really liked coming here. everyone should come here once.

The Ahilya Fort Heritage hotel is an exceptional property. Perched atop the famed ghats of Maheshwar, the location is very special of course. But the care and thought that has gone into the design and the upkeep of the place elevates the experience to another level. The entire property is full of lovely little corners are delightful views. We felt like the Narmada room, where we stayed, was the crown jewel of the property. However the real stars were the staff who were extremely accommodating of our needs, and always helpful.

Rising from the Ahilya ghats... it was as spectacular as was the personality of Devi Ahilya. The towering fort stands guard to the pious Narmada river. The fort built from stones are still in a good condition and open for visitors. It has an incredible architecture. It is beautiful. And it is located on the bank of Narmada river which just increases it's beauty even more.

(Translated by Google) Ahilyabai Holkar's capital was in this village situated on the banks of Narmada in Madhya Pradesh. Sitting here, he took charge of the Marathi wealth in Malwa. But at the same time Mahishmati i.e. Maheshwar is also known as the capital of Emperor Kartavirya Arjuna. There is so much to see here. Fort, temples, Narmada river bank and Maheshwari saris have come to the point of attraction here. Carrying Maheshwar, Narmada passes from here. The ghats built on this river are worth seeing. Peshwa Ghat, Phanse Ghat, Ahilya Ghat are famous ghats. Not much is seen on this ghat. Since there is a ghat on one side of the river, you can sit there and see the rural life from the other side. The throne and the palace The fort is located on the banks of Narmada. There is an idol of Ahilyabai on the throne. When he sees this throne, he comes alive all the time and puts it in front of us. The slow flowing Narmada character can be seen from this fort. There are centers for making Maheshwari sarees in this fort. These weavers were called by Ahilyabai from Surat and other cities at that time. The next generation is doing the same thing here. The famous Dussehra festival starts from the small temple in the fort. Temples The temples in Maheshwar are also famous. The temples of Kaleshwar, Rajarajeshwar, Vitthaleshwar and Ahilyeshwar are especially worth visiting. The carvings on the temple, the ideas behind them are all really beautiful. Ahilyabai was known as a compassionate ruler and a strict ruler against criminals. There is a story that he even killed his son with an elephant's foot for his crime. His temple has also been built here.
