Can
it
really
be
true
that
train
tickets
are
only
issued
to
tourists
carrying
a
Turkish
phone
number
even
though
you
are
able
to
show
your
passport
or
have
a
valid
email
address?
According
to
the
ticketing
officers
and
the
information
personell
at
Ankara
Central
Station
then
yes.
With
the
amount
of
tourists
visiting
Türkiye
each
year
I
could
not
imagine
this
to
be
a
requirement
giving
people
the
only
option
to
buy
a
Turkish
phone
number
to
get
a
train
ticket
even
though
it
might
not
be
necessary
otherwise.
In
this
case
I
had
to
abandone
my
plans
of
trying
out
the
Ankara-Istanbul
train
line
and
to
rely
solely
on
the
bus
network
which
I
enjoy
making
use
of
and
doesn’t
have
such
a
requirement.
There
is
definately
room
for
improvement
on
this
matter.
