(Translated by Google) Ankara Catholic Church. Istanbul-Ankara is affiliated with the Latin Catholic Religious Leadership. It is located in Kardesler Street in Ulus district of Ankara. In 1915, the French College of Saint Klement was under the direction of the Brothers of Christian Schools. At the same time, this area was close to the old Armenian neighborhood of the time. During the great fire of 1916, St. Klement College and the surrounding area were burned. Only one wall left of college. As a result of the great work of the monks who taught French at that time, the brothers were named after the street. Thus, the street began to be called the Brothers Street. In 1928, a building was built on the ground floor of this old college with the French Embassy Chancellery on the ground floor and a small chapel on the first floor of the Embassy hall. In the early years, the French consul lived here. He later transferred his apartments to a small French school until 1962. As a historical building, the most important part of the Azize Tereza Church building is the chapel located on the first floor and restored in 2002. The main mosaic was made by the French artist Hervè Vital, who quotes the Cappadocian churches. On the right side of the main mosaic are two great kings; The two great kings point to Adam and Eve, coming out of the grave on the left to the light of the resurrection, to look at us. On the left side is Jesus Christ with the Child in his arms, on the right side is the Messiah who holds the Bible in one hand and blesses it with the other. The very soft colors of these two mosaics provide a complete integrity with the bright colors of the church. A fixed candle holder in front of each of its mosaics accepts the small lights that accompany the hope and prayers of the believers. At the heart of the cross, made by Madeleine Diener, the mystery of Efkaristiya is told. with two open fingers, the merging of two natures (God and man) with the body of the resurrected Jesus Christ, the other three fingers, the Holy Trinity. To remember the victims of the Old Testament, the column headings were decorated with 4 ram heads, and bread and wine were decorated with corners of wheat and grapes to remember the celebration of the New Testament sacrifice. The light of the chapel depends on the stained glass on the side of the columns. Six of these stained glass, D.P. Made by Dagrant in Bordeaux. They were in the chapel of the Old Izmir French College and were kept in Kadikoy when this school was closed in 1920. In 1952, they were installed where they are now. To complete the series, four other stained glass windows of the same style were made in Florence and mounted at the same time in the church. (Original) Ankara Katolik Kilisesidir. 1952’de şu an bulundukları yerlerine monte edildiler.

Pleasant and small a Catholic Church. In Ankara, there isn’t any church which have decorations like St.Tereza have, Only apartment churchs all around. If you want to visit a church in Ankara, then St. Tereza is a good option to visit.

(Translated by Google) I went to Sunday to pray. Polite people, but there are parties to be criticized. For example, the priest can not speak good Turkish, I had to tell him if I had the opportunity. The passage was read from the Bible. Readers were so reluctant that I didn't understand anything and also need acoustic microphone not good. I wanted to get a brochure. (a few-page thing) the price is 15 TL.Such places should not aim for profit. If you say I'm going to sell three-penny brochure, what is 2 TL 15 TL.

This building used to be the French embassy back in 1800s. Considering the architectural and aesthetic aspects of this edifice, it is a real masterpiece. You can see astonishing decorative glasses and windows which present amazing lighting. No matter your religion, as soon as you enter the place, it lifts your spirits and gives you a good feeling. If you enjoy good architecture, or a spiritual experience, don't miss it. p.s. You won't have any problems accessing the place considering the means of public transportation available.
