In Ann Arbor? Stop by this amazingly well curated museum. You won't be dissapointed! Pay what you can. A hidden gem! Small enough to do well in under 2 hours, but you'll remember your visit for a lifetime.

Free admission! Please make a donation. History up close and personal! A small museum with some amazing artifacts from ancient Greece and Rome, with some terrific late Egyptian artifacts. You have to see the sarcophagus to believe it. History is a lot more colorful and vibrant than you imagine.

Very interesting museum with mummies, beautiful glass, and stone artifacts. Ancient Rome, Egypt, most from digs done by U of Michigan people. 2 floors, but it doesn't take too long unless you read all of the detailed descriptions. I especially enjoyed the coins, some of which were gold.

We were required to wear a mask which was slightly annoying (even my 6 yr old) but wasn't really a big deal. There was lots to see for my teens and my little one. There was only about 8-10 other people there so not crowed at all!

Amazing place to visit. Small but intimate collection of Babylonian, Egyptian and Roman artefacts. And they are very transparent about their origin which is very refreshing. Would highly recommend for a quick refresher about ancient history. And it is free which makes it irresistible.

Amazing museum, so much history and child friendly. I never thought there would see so much Roman history in one American building but this is just fascinating. In fact, they have a to scale 5/6 version of the room of the mystery’s and the room is so huge. The re-making process of the room is just as fascinating as the history of color through Rome.

Very cool museum that's a bit tucked away. If you're in town and have a few hours to look at some artifacts and learn a bit more about history, then you should definitely stop by. My favorite piece was the coffin of Djehutymose.

The museum has moved (15 years ago) from the old stone building to a newer structure behind. Not as charming but better lighting and more room. Great things to look at and nice info pannels

Very nice museum that's not huge or crowded. Very clean, safe area, free admission. We parked at a public lot a few blocks away (library lane, lots of spaces). And we really enjoyed seeing the vintage artifacts. Open the drawers under many displays for more to see.

Got a very illustrative tour by one of the staff staff who happens to be my daughter :) What amazed me was the fact that there was so much detail from so many many years ago and the intricacies of forming some of the exhibits especially the glassware. And the highlight of The Visit was the mummified child. Highly recommended that you do it it's a very historic building in regards to its history and it lends a good presence in the college community. My return trip I will visit it again.

What a great place, I was surprised that there weren't more people there. Maybe a reason could be is, its humbling that people had it together better than we do now, or thinking people from the past were stupid, they were not. Seeing where man was then from now you'd think man now would have made even bigger leaps than we have. Nothing new under the sun. I was most surprised by clear glass & colored glass & the craftsmanship there was no OSHA back then no steel toe sandals, yet they got it done. Go and see for yourself.

Great museum... Interesting pieces, nicely organized and loved the pull out drawers with additional pieces. They also had a very informed, helpful staff. The heat was on full blast in the building so it was a little hot.

A free place to take kids. We had a guided tour for our homeschool group. It was so nice. The staff is friendly, while educated.

Do you like ancient civilizations? Art? Pottery? Egypt? Looking at things in general? This museum. Search and find activities for kids and adults, well organised displays that lead naturally into each other, and just a genuinely fun place to be.

Cute little museum with a lot of cool artifacts inside. The lighting was soft which really contributed to the immersion, and a lot of the discoveries were by Michigan alum which was really cool. Seems like the place is adding new artifacts and exhibits too.

A great museum to spend some time in. Lots of artifacts from various civilizations and time periods. I came here and got a tour as a part of a professional development seminar through U of M.

Nice collection, but a bit on the smaller size. The exhibit descriptions are crisp and interesting to read. However, in many cases it wasn't clear how the objects ended up in the museum collection!

I was very impressed today with Ranya at Douglas J Aveda institute. She did an amazing job on my hair. I can say she truly pampered me by washing my hair and massaging my scalp which felt amazing! She then gave me a haircut and styled my hair. It looks phenomenal!! Not to mention the botanical product she used on my hair which made my hair feel so soft. Thank you Ranya for a beautiful job!!

I went here the other day to check out the museum. Needed to write an essay for an English college class; so, I came here. The people there are super nice and knowledgeable. I'll definitely come back. 👍

Very interesting! The docent there was very informative and made the visit a lot of fun. So nice when a knowledgeable and enthusiastic person guides you a bit and saves you from reading all the tiny printing!
