I usually don't like to write bad reviews about anything but I guess I don't have choice. The location is decent but I believe the rent is considerably high compared to other apartment complexes. Sound isolation is not the best and you can hear even if someone above you is taking a shower or playing music. There have been more and more power outages recently. Some people don't pick up after their dogs. The call box didn't work for about a year. The common area is closed after business hours which is not the case in other complexes. According to the owners, nobody is allowed to have holiday decorations on the balcony rails, hang curtains on the windows and even door mats in interior hallways (seriously??) I have to say that this bad review is for the above factors and a couple more, but mostly for the owners or whichever company that own the property. Fortunately, the management team has been great and I think they just follow orders. Tyler, who is the current manager, has been very flexible and understanding. He tries to go above and beyond but like I just said, it's sad when the owners have other interests or attitudes towards the residents.

Lived here for just under a year and to say the experience was miserable is an understatement. Upon move-in, we discovered that the previous tenant had caused significant damage to the apartment, and it seemed that no one had done a walk-through after (or did and didn't care). The master bedroom door was broken and wouldn't close, there was a cracked window, the shower doors wouldn't close and the handle was broken, many of the soft-close kitchen drawers were broken, the floors were deeply scratched, the closet doors were broken, the shower head escutcheon was not attached, and there were various other small issues. We immediately contacted Tyler, who assured us that he would make it a priority to fix all of the issues, and that the master bedroom door had already been ordered. A week later we found out the door had never been ordered and it ended up taking 3 months to get a functioning bedroom door. It took over 6 months for everything else to be fixed. Also, the maintenance crew and management would never let us know when they were coming, despite us repeatedly asking them to because my partner works nights and sleeps during the day. We even spoke with Beztak corporate and made this clear to them as well. Not even two days after that conversation, 3 maintenance crew members entered my apartment and entered the bedroom where my partner was sleeping, startling her awake. When she questioned them about it, they said the manager had spoken to me even though I was at work when this happened and hadn't spoken to anybody. The cherry on top of all of this is that the maintenance team would constantly mark the work orders I submitted through the online portal as "complete" even when they weren't, so nobody knew what still needed to be fixed and what didn't. When I spoke to someone about this, they apologized and told me to resubmit the open work orders, which I did, and they marked them complete again 2 hours later without fixing anything. Additionally, a few weeks after moving in, construction began around the complex where they proceeded to rip up nearly all of the sidewalks. We were never notified of this prior to it beginning, and again, this was a massive inconvenience to my partner who sleeps during the day. We specifically sought out a quiet place to live for that reason and we certainly didn't get it here. It also took over 6 months of us living there for all of the smart home features we were promised (smart thermostat and keyless entry) to fully work. We were never offered compensation for the broken items, construction noise, lack of promised smart home features, incompetent management, or any of the other things that made living at Uptown Ann Arbor a nightmare. It's no coincidence that the most recent reviews are all negative, pretty much all of my neighbors were fed up with them by the time we moved out as well. So happy to be out of there. EDIT: Just to address their generic response: the regional manager, Hailee, was fully aware of all of these issues the whole time. Even with her involvement, nothing was done correctly or in a timely manner.

I took a tour here recently and was very impressed by how nice these units are and how friendly the staff is. Tamara did a great job showing us around and was able to answer all our questions including information about amenities, pet policy, and all kinds of other detailed things we were curious about. She was professional and friendly, and really made an impression on our family. We are looking for places to move to in this area and will definitely keep Uptown in mind. Thanks again, Tamara, for making such a great first impression!

I lived at Uptown Ann Arbor for almost 2 years and absolutely loved it! The apartments are brand new, conveniently located (<10mins to Whole Foods/Target/etc) with a nice community feel. Also the management (Ashley and Tyler) are always so helpful; definitely recommend!

Great experience thus far at Uptown. Tamara (the leasing agent) has been wonderful since my first call, to move in, to present. Tyler (the property manager, if I'm not mistaken?) has been equally wonderful and understanding. I lived at an apartment building (Six11) on campus last year which was considered my many to be the best place to live on campus. Construction quality and management were terrible. Walls were like cardboard and other tenants were extremely noisy. Uptown is about a 10 min drive from central campus. Tenants are mostly young professionals (some seemingly very well-off judging by the cars I see in the lot), grad students, and a smattering of small families with young children. My next-door neighbors are UM medical students and the gentleman across the hall is a figure skating coach. Super quiet and friendly tenants. Uptown is also located on wetlands so there are some pristine nature views from the gym/common areas. The only major problem I had was with the bedroom blinds. There are blindingly bright lights turned on throughout the property after dark which I assume are used (understandably) to mitigate liabilities. The blinds in the units do essentially nothing to block out this light (it feels like there are alien ships landing at night). I complained about this and Tamara and Tyler enthusiastically assisted me with coming to a solution. The maintenance team will be helping me install a blackout film. Overall, super satisfied with the professionalism and courtesy of the Beztak team. As an aspiring real estate developer myself, I hope to have a crew like Tamara and Tyler working on my properties in the future.

I’ve been living at Uptown for about 8 months and it’s been nothing but a positive experience. Besides the modern and airy interior and beautiful landscaping, the people working here are just so kind and helpful. Any time I have had an issue, Tamara has been there immediately to help with a warm smile. She always goes out of her way to make sure I’m taken care of and exceeds my expectations. Dealing with maintenance is always easy and pleasant. Tyler’s friendliness is unmatched. Overall 10/10 experience so far!!

My apartment located on the first floor, it’s freezing cold in winter, prepare to have heater on September to May, the lighting is terrible, the room air isn’t great either, often times it’s smelly for no obvious reason, and you would have the lights in if on the first floor. They raise ~$300 each year you renew the lease. It quickly become unaffordable. Last but not least, they charged me 100$ for deep cleaning the stove surface which I have thoroughly cleaned. I guess normal wear isn’t tolerated. They also charge $500 for carpet replacement due to marks left it. So prepare to pay for unreasonable move out charges out of pocket! I’m glad my lease is up so I can finally move out! Not recommend for anyone due to terrible living condition!

We are absolutely blown away by the efficiency and kindness of Uptown! We first scheduled a virtual tour with Tyler who answered all of our questions and sold us on the Chicago-style apartment right away. After hitting dead ends on multiple apartment complexes, nothing beat the luxury finishes, location and immediate customer service that Uptown offers. Then, we were in constant contact with Tamara during the signing process who secured us the best deal and listened to our wants/needs. The process was seamless and convenient, something we have never experienced from other rentals. We can tell the staff is very invested in making this living experience amazing!

I lived in Uptown Ann Arbor for a year in a third story apartment in 3154. The staff went above and beyond to meet my needs. The office staff were always kind and accommodating. The property was well kept, clean and maintenance was available 24/7 for any needs. The pool was pristine and quiet. The gym was beyond top notch with advanced equipment. It was a pleasure living at Uptown Ann Arbor. Safety was a priority, and as a working professional, I was pleased that the environment was quiet, well built, stylish and well kept. I rented a garage and car space, and never had an issue. Tyler and Tamara were always helpful and did everything possible to ensure I was happy renter. I would recommend UAA to anyone moving to the area. I toured multiple sites, and it was the most modern, quality complex in short distance to the university. They did an outstanding job, were responsive to any request and helpful throughout my stay. I would highly recommend living here, especially if you are pursuing a luxurious quality apartment complex outside of the university traffic. Thank you all for being such great hosts!

I lived here a little over a year and had a wonderful experience. I lived on the ground floor had French doors to the patio which I made full use of and loved. I signed my lease with Ashley. Tyler was the manager while I was there and they are both gems as human beings and property managers, they truly care. I had a good experience with Beztak Properties, honest business transactions. This is an immaculate property with an awesome maintenance team, Steve always fixed any issue immediately. Know that you and your belongings will be safe. As to the noise complaints, I have heard this from two other tenants, but being on the ground floor I never heard anything uncommon for apartment living, I can see how maybe the middle apartments will echo, so avoid that if your extremely noise sensitive but I was really happy on the ground floor without unexpected noise from an apartment. I also loved the gym, it is very well maintained, clean with new machines, this property had everything I needed to live comfortably. This building is mostly young professionals so I got to make really cool friends.
