It's one of those spots in Korea where you'll find on lists of top places to go, but make sure you keep your expectations in check. It's a nice place, with good artsy vibes. But unless you're someone looking for cutesy stuff, it's a nice place to just walk through and enjoy the ambience. Many little shops with their unique characters respectively. Good place to buy souvenirs, and enjoy the weekend walk, especially if you're visiting Insadong.

A collection of artsy and local stores with markets stalls as well. Lots of nice store with activities and things for kids as well. One store that caught our eye was where you can customise your own key ring or bag strap. Got one with my son's name - ready in 10 mins. Recommend for everyone to have a browse even though it can get a bit crowded.

A must go if it is your first time in korea. Cool place with unique cafes and a small stall that can draw your portrait for around 30-50$ per person. The drawing will take around 30 minutes to complete. Perfect for souvenir

Nov 2023. Here again. I remembered the spiral walkway without steps. There were many small souvenir and arts merchandise shops here.

Nice place to visit and buy unique souvenirs. It’s really crowded but not too bad you still can go visit all the stores. People are nice and they have various cute shops. I got a traditional dress and some unique souvenirs for family from here and it has reasonable price so it’s really worth it. I go here every time i visit this area. It’s such a fun place and there are a lot of other shops outside of this mall so it’s really fun. You should visit here if you visit Korea it’s kinda mandatory lol

The place is known for Korean traditional souvenirs and crafts. It's a nice place to go with your kids to enjoy various kinds of crafts and activities. There are various shops with usually hand made things which is real attraction of the place. I really enjoyed roaming and looking for various new and crafty things. There are caricature shops where you can get painted with your loved ones. There are so many cute craft items which you can buy and create..overall nice relaxing, calming place.

We came here to take the kids to the awesome Poopooland… but that’s now gone!! However, Ssamzigil is still totally awesome and perfect for a half-day out. Great souvenirs, gifts and crafts. Awesome art shops. And great food and beverage. We loved a coffee stop at the Poo Cafe with their fun toile mugs and views of the mountains, and there’s a Poo Bread vendor! You MUST visit this mini-Mall if you’re in Seoul

There are a lot of food portions, it is recommended not to order too much 😂😂, the environment is very comfortable and the weather is quite cold, the street lights are beautiful and casual photos are beautiful, the dolls are very cute, there are many restaurants and storefronts nearby,

This area is absolutely wonderful. It has a whole bunch of cute little shops. They mostly sell handmade items from their own workshop. In some shops you can also make your own creations with instructions. I walked past Samzigil first. So be a little careful.

    It's noisy and there's nothing to see. It's Insa-dong.

Has many independent stalls selling many unique arts, items. Was here in early Dec 23, was very cold at night, so not so crowded. Recommended if you want to walk around and hope to find some special gifts or souvenir.

It’s basically a little shopping mall. Cute to walk around. The shop that makes custom stamp is 5,000KRW cheaper in this mall than it is out on the big streets. I only noticed this after already having purchased my stamp from a shop on the Main Street. While the Main Street receives lots of shopping traffic, I didn’t notice many people here so generally you may find a slightly discounted price.

It's been a long time since I've been to Ssamziegil, but it's still the main street in Insa-dong. There is a lot to see and experience.

as for the whole place, there are tons of unique stores with various different art, accessories, crafts, souvenirs, etc of course it is pretty tourist-y so some of the places are overpriced, but it’s a good place to find a lot of things in one spot personally i only purchased a music box as a gift for my 할아버지 at this one store here that i can’t seem to find to review, but i customized the entire thing from the flower, box, and music, and it was under 50$ !! honestly pretty good price given the amount of options you can choose from as well, staff were super nice when i was asking about the options:)

Interesting place in Seoul. Many stores to buy various things, the vibe of the place is quite interesting. Lots of movement and people. There are cafes in the area and tea houses with local products.

A multi-storey mall with many interesting pop-up stores from small and local artists. A great place to buy unique souvenirs or try out some crafting classes while also supporting local artists! I went on a Sunday evening. There was quite a lot of people walking around, but not too overcrowded. You can reserve 1-2 hours to walk around (longer if you want to join any crafting classes). It has around 4-5 storeys, with an interesting layout where all the floors are inclined so you can just keep walking up/downwards and it is wheelchair/stroller-friendly. I would recommend visiting here for people of all age groups!

This place have many local handcrafts, we went see some of them closely, and notice they're well made. Be sure to check this area if you love local creative items and cute stuff.

Worth going, especially if you like supporting local businesses. A shout out to Welbas that sells skincare products with natural ingredients, but in ice cream form! I truly admire Koreans’ take on their innovation and creativity.

Love this plaza! Every store is super duper cute. Be careful or you’ll end up spending a lot of money! Music boxes take around 20-30 minutes to make so walk around! Although my cousin said I could get cheaper ones somewhere else as this is a tourist location. Spent about 55,000won on my bird box with ponyo’s song.

A photogenic place with many stores that allow you to create something. On my first visit I found places where you can make music boxes, straps or bags with personalized patches, and art by wrapping string around needles. The open area in the center makes the atmosphere great :) will definitely come back again soon.

specialises in local Korean craft stores, good for browsing if you're into local crafts and knick knacks. all shops open uniformly as well so you want have a case of a half-empty mall where the shops open at staggered timings.

Cool crafty, chill place with a good mix of souvenirs as well as handmade stuff. Most of the stuff are overpriced though. Nice cafe on the top floor to take a break.

Not a must see, but a good see. Some but not not completely unique or artisanal booths.

Very cool space for those interested in arts and crafts. Most of the shops sell mostly locally made items so worth supporting. Not many restaurants inside but plenty in the area so not an issue. There is a famous ‘poop’ cafe on the roof but have not tried it yet.

A really cute place to shop for products made by local Artisans. Lots of very wonderful gift ideas, clothing, art, jewelry and even stuff to eat! Notable is they guy who makes Music boxes! I think he does incredible work and it is probably the most innovative shop there.

Very colourful hang out place for family with craft classes at level 1. Hip and trendy venue with modern shops for arts and eclectic stuff to boot. Go ahead and check out the stairless design of this building where shoppers just keep walking up a spiral walkway to visit the shops. Wow.

Ssamzigil is a must visit for anyone sightseeing in Insadong. They have lots of cute shops that sell whatever your touristy heart desires. Some shops even offer workshops to craft the items they specialise in. There's a café at the top. There is an elevator available that brings you to the top in case you want to go downhill instead of up.

A quick walk around. Small shops aplenty ... prefer the street walks. The weekend singer outside sings very well.

It is one of the favorite places I would love to visit every time I go to Insadong. Many levels of shops are filled with handmade crafts that are always ever-changing. There are also workshops for you to make your own crafts with the material they provide, and you pay for to create the one of the kind items that you would like. I will just come back again and again and again from time to time to see what wonders does lies within
