This is a must see if you are in the Antalya area. The uniqueness of Termessos is that it’s hardly been excavated and so many things are left as they had been when the city was abandoned. The sheer size of the cisterns is truly spectacular. The highlight of course is the amphitheater and the breathtaking mountain view! Having seen a lot of ruins and ancient cities I can say that this is truly unique and you shouldn’t miss it!

Beautiful place! Have to visit. Ruins, views, history - great! Possible to go on taxi. Recommend to visit via route by maps.me or else navigator. Starting from the tombs to city, bath, school, church, other buildings and finish - awesome antique amphitheater. All visit takes 3-5 hours.

Worth the drive and mini hike. About 30 mins outside of the city of Antalya, it’s surprisingly unspoiled by tons of tourists. $2 entrance fee (May 2022) but well marked signs, nice size car park and lots to explore.

If you like ruins then this place has to be on your bucket list. While it was unconquered by Alexander The Great, nature is winning that battle. Most of it is in ruins, but they are impressive. It's a long winding road up to the parking spot (but on a good road) and then a 45 min steep uphill climb, so wear good trainers. But what waits is well worth it. Lots to see (signposts in the site could be better) so allow lots of time. Take food and lots of water.

The amphitheater and the surrounding city are really amazing, definetely worth a visit! The city is located inside a national park, so you need to a car to access the starting point then hike upwards! It was a hard climb but it has amazing views. The mountains surrounding the city, the harmony of nature and the buildings is just a must-see :)

Very worth to visit. This is the unique place, an ancient town of Turkish Macu Pikcu in Taurus Mountain. Termessos is not so touristic, because you must hike approx 1km up, 1km down and around 3.5-4km in the Termessos itself when you reach it. You should calculate roughly to spend 2h if you walk quickly and 3h if slowly. Very recommended! 10points

Prepare for uphill hiking and totally unrestored structures but man is that theater at the top amazing. No joke you'll be parkouring across fallen stones all over the place but it's so worth it to just sit in the theater looking at the mountains in the background. Yeah, you've been to amphitheatres but this one's definitely got the best view behind it.

There is a serious hike up a very steep and rough path to get to the main part of the site but the necropolis to the left of the car park is worth the visit on its own. It is a beautiful location with breathtaking views.

Most amazing experience with endless ruins sprawling across mountains, partly hidden by forest and debris. Sad and magnificent, how grand the city once was. The area is worth several days of exploration, not hours. Take water and snacks with you and leave no trace behind, be better than others

Amazing place. You must see these ruins. They are wonderful because of their location in the mountains. Entrance fee 20 Lt per person. You pay at the bottom of the hill. Then you drive 9 kms and park your car. Afterwards you go up the mountain to see the ancient city. First ruins are already on the parking. Then you reach next ruins after about 15 minutes. Take hiking shoes, because you have to walk on the rocks. We spent 2 hrs there, but you could spend half of the day there. Take water. The road is wide and very good, don’t be afraid to drive there with your car. It is easy. You drive your car to about 1000 meteres, so the views are amazing.

How can you not get five stars to a 2000-year-old ruin that is over 1,000 m above sea level? It is understood and is natural has any ruin in the country, with some amazing and breathtaking views up there.

What a miracle...I think the Romans were giants if you look at the massive rock bricks that they used to assemble such a theater...but why on top of a mountain? Quite a walk to discover this beauty...Take your own water etc. because there is no kiosk or restaurant selling anything.

Breathtaking hike through the ruins to the summit! The ancient city features a magnificent theater, the monumental tomb of Alcetas (one of Alexander’s generals), Hellenistic Defenses, multiple temples, as well as several magnificent necropolises. It provides one of the most stunning examples of ancient cities in Western Turkey. I suggest around 3-4 hours to explore the site and hike the trails fully. Even if you are not a huge history buff, this is a fantastic hiking spot with a scenic view of the Turkish countryside.

This is such underrated place in Antalya and I wonder why it isn't even a UNESCO heritage site. Anyway, probably it's better that way as it's so unspoilt unlike Aspendos, Perge and Side. Here you can just chill without so much tourists and savour the history of the place. There's no way of coming here by public transport except taxi. We took taxi from Konyalti beach (Sea life resort) and paid 400TL (Return)+ 12.50TL entrance ticket (1 person) a total of 425TL (2person) as of 16 November 2021. The only thing that I didn't like was the taxi driver told us that he'd only wait for 2 hours! It's really a shame as we barely explored the entirety of this settlement. Wear proper walking/trekking shoes as it's really craggy and some of the marble path was so slippery (I slipped more than twice!) Also bring light refreshments and water to enjoy it more! Be responsible tourists and clean up after yourselves. Happy exploring!

Amazing place. Worth hiking, worth exploring. Take your time to explore every corner before the theater. I'd say that you need at least 4 hrs to have a good look. Quick look (depends also on how good you hike and how many photos you take ) is appr. 2 hrs Bit just go there, it's gorgeous

The theatre is breathtaking... mainly due to its mount top location. The fact that there aren’t many visitors and the place is a bit remote, brings some feel of time stall and peace. As for the rest of the buildings, they have mostly collapsed and unless you have some background in architecture or archeology, you may find it hard to appreciate. Some say the walk up is strenuous... I’d say if you don’t have mobility issue, you’ll be fine! Yes, you have to walk over ruins sometimes but that’s to be expected. It is somewhere in between a walk in the park and hiking. Shoes (as opposed to flip-flops) will help but proper trekking shoes are not essential. It’s a 9km walk from the ticket office to the ruins. Thought those were more strenuous and certainly more tedious - if you could arrange a transport for those, you may want to do. For me personally, it was worth it even for the theatre itself. I could spend a good amount of time when I was the only person there and it was a special moment of silence and reflection.

Super cool ancient city. We went early mid week and because it was late November the place was deserted. We had the whole grounds to ourselves making for a great experience and lots of good photos. There is also a lookout at the top you can climb up to that has excellent views of the surrounding valleys. Be prepared to do some hiking around to see all of the city. Rock carved tombs are fantastic as well, some are in good condition.

A city of brave warriors who Alexander the great couldn't take it and just left it to their local people.

You should visit, this is the most important historical places in fifth of Antalya. A little bit hard to walk the route for who has problems with the heart and weight. You should be there before 15.00. Nice trip..

Very beautiful place. We were there with children when it was +37. But everyone climbed to the top and was quite happy of seeing such beauty place. Recommend to visit!

So worth the drive and it was only 10 TL to get in. The road is a little narrow but good. The theater is the crown jewel but don't miss the cisterns as well. The other great part is very few people go here.

You will need a car, coach or taxi to visit this remote, mountain site. We took a taxi from Antalya for 65Euros including the driver waiting time. Pay 20 lira per person then drive to the parking lot up the mountain road. Then start the easy but rough climb. As a minimum you will need good trainers plus water as there are no facilities. Climb maybe 2km and gain 250m to reach the beautiful and atmospheric theatre before descending through the various ruins to again reach the ruined colonnaded street. The paths are informal and rocky but not difficult. The ruins are as nature left them after earthquakes, not repaired, not reconstructed with no interpretive signage. The beauty of the site is its unimproved and atmospheric condition. To descend to the parking lot seek out the path through the tombs. There is a detour path to the tomb of Alcetas. Return trip to car park will take around 3 hours. We had the site largely to ourselves midweek in October.

Best ruins I've visited ever. I mean normally you dont expect much from ruins. In this case you have to climb on a quite serious rock. During hot weather it can a challenge. But when you're up, views are stunning, ruins look really impressive and history of the place makes this place even a more special one. Highly recommended!
