Crazy huge 3,000-year-old ciiiiity 🛵💨🎉 Super cool ancient city carved into the side of a mountain with several large structures still fully intact amazingly enough 🤯 Apparently this used to be one of the largest ancient cities in all of Turkey back in its day but today there is a four-lane beautiful paved somewhat twisty highway just in front of this old girl 🛣️🛵💨🔥 Also just in front of this ancient city is a little truck stop where you can purchase all your favorite all natural items like honey, tahini, and even fresh fruit somehow all the way up here on this frigid cold desert mountain 🤯 Freshwater shooting out of multiple springs at this truck stop was definitely a welcomed surprise 🚰🚿💦🏄‍♂️⛰️

What an amazing place. There's a lot more than what you can see from the car park and it was virtually deserted. We felt like archaeologists discovering a lost city.

Very large city with a theatre that we thought was one of the nicest we have seen, because of its preservation and the carved feet at the bottom of the bleachers. I believe it is now closed because of fires, so said a sign. So try to find out before you go. There is also a small market just before the turnoff. They have roasted corn, vegetables, fruits and spring water for free.

Loved it - there was only 10 other people on the day we visited and for the morning it was just us. Ticket office was unmanned so free to get in. The information boards have pretty much all faded but it's easy to walk around - worth taking the path through the forest to the old bathhouse.

Astounding antique city in the heart of Lycia one of the well protected cities, just sit in the amphitheater or in the state agora, take a deep breath, relax and feel the Zeitgeist.

Impressive archeological site. Admission is free and we were the only people there in morning. Unfortunately, amount of information posted is minimal, but there was reception and google helped me understand the site better. Took me 2 hours to see everything at a normal/slow pace.

Amazing Lycian city high up in the mountains. It’s a drive to get here but well worth it - fascinating site to wander around and completely empty when we went.

Built on a magnificent mountain slope, Arykanda has well-preserved Roman baths and monumental tombs with a relatively small theatre.
