People often mention ancient, city, village, daha, ruins,

(Translated by Google) I chose to take this route while walking the Lycian way. There is not much left as an ancient city. There were 6-7 colossal sarcophagi, bath remains, church remains, 1-2 rock tombs and various debris. I did the night camp on the plain behind the sarcophagi. When I set up my tent and started drinking my coffee in the camping area, I was very impressed when I saw the stones scattered on the floor in old Greek. When I started to research the environment a little more, I started to see the remains of buildings, columns, bases and podiums used everywhere, and I realized that there were actually more than 3-5 sarcophagi here. The ancient city is a city that lived just like patara, most likely the people who lived in this village must be the descendants of the people who lived in this city 1500-2000 years ago.

I stayed at Sidyma homes, with Fatma, she was so sweet, and her food was amazing. She doesn’t speak any English, yet we communicated very well.

Visited mid March 2023. Allow at least two hours, maybe three in order to see it all. Wear trainers as a minimum (rough and bumpy underfoot), long trousers and maybe a long shirt (lots of branches which can scratch you). Free entry. The ancient city is not where the Google maps pin is. You need to continue up the hill until you reach the end of the road and park by a dilapidated house in a field with some ancient ruins in. The ancient city is spread out over a large area. There are no information boards. Lots of tombs and one of them has amazing carvings on the underside of the roof. The lady who lives in the last house on left before the 'carpark' (house on blue stilts) sells çay and food and also makes her own shawls too. Well worth a visit if you are nearby.

(Translated by Google) It's almost exclusively for hikers, as it's not in a place where people can say let's go and see. That's why the destruction in the ancient city developed naturally because there was no malevolent person. When I reached the necropolis with the giant sarcophagi in the village of Dodurga, among the piles of ancient stones, where nothing but goats and centuries-old olive trees were around, I remember saying I am glad I came here. I also remember that the village mosque was built in the 1940s, and ancient ruins were visibly used in its construction, and it was quite interesting.

(Translated by Google) At the end of the road, with the guidance of a very helpful young man working in the cafe near the mosque, we walked through the dried creek bed right next to it, but our two sons, one of whom was 4 and one 8 years old, were able to walk comfortably. The only problem is the beetle beetle branch butterfly was too much and it was on you because I'm talking about a 1 m wide road :) it's just like Indiana Jones movies :) but the end of the road leads to an incredibly beautiful plain. And on that plain you are accompanied by squirrels and turtles. There are many sarcophagi. But nature and scenery are so unique that they overshadow history. We took a walk up and down in silence and enjoyed the place. It's never better than other places, but the atmosphere is amazing. With animals. Turtles have created traffic, they are literally walking around whizzing left and right. You go there just to see it. We lost our way back and proceeded through the village. We reached the exit much more easily and quickly. It is much more logical to enter and exit through the village, I think the entrance is free.

Ancient city in untouched place, without crowd of tourists. Better go on foot, or take some car like Suzuki samurai. Prepare to spend all day.

Very quiet, atmospheric Lycian ruins tucked out in the middle of nowhere up in the foothills of the mountains. Not easy to find, the tag on Google Maps is not at the actual location.

Fantastic, largely unexcavated ruins to wander around. The centre of the village is where the agora used to be and the mosque actually several lots of ancient stone columns and a large stone with Greek inscription. Lots of tombs, one with some exceptional relief carvings on the underside of its roof. All for free.

I highly suggest for everyone to take this path while hiking the lycian trail, the ancient city is marvelous to experience. It has such a mystical vibe to it, it's like every tree and every structure is telling it's story. I highly suggest you to climb to the building on the top, it has a great view. Also i also suggest everyone to wander in the village as well, the first settlers built their homes with the stones and pieces from the ruins so it's worth seeing.

(Translated by Google) I would say don't go by seeing the sign that says Sidyma on the main road and thinking it's too close. There is no signage or direction until 2 km from the ancient city. We found it difficult to get in and out of the villages. A few leftover ruins. There is no information about what is what. The village and the ancient city are intertwined.

The ruins are very widespread. Some are set amongst the village settlement area. You need good walking shoes. Not a great deal to look at but there are a few tombs and structures to see. Free entrance, no toilets.

Not much was saved. It’s better to go a little out to see sarcophagus by the old pink house

👍👍 We really enjoyed our trip to the gorge - our advice for a trip is: You definitely should use water shoes. We had these so didn’t rent the jelly shoes available around the entrance. You are wading through generally very shallow water a lot of the time. Wear clothes that you are comfortable getting...
