The best beach in Turkey. Clean, sandy and away from everything as it’s located in the national park so all kinds of business are forbidden there. Few things you need to know before you go: ☀️It’s very sunny and hot there. There are no shadow options there. It’s like a desert with dunes. 🅿️&🏖It's about 500m through the dunes from the parking area to the sea. It takes about 10 minutes to go down to the sea and 15-20 minutes to climb back to the parking. Parking is free on the Patara observation deck. 💧Food and water: bring everything you need(especially water). In the nearby village, there are some cafes but the quality is not ok. Their business is a one-time visit so that they don’t care about quality. 🚘Road: 99% of the road from Fethiye or Kaś is a high-quality highway. The last mile is a dirt road strewn with stones. It’s not a problem for any car. 🌊Sea: in most cases it’s calm. You need to walk about 50m to reach depths of 2m. Note that seaweed may colour water in hot summer months. ⏱Time to visit: you need a full day. Sunsets are stunning. It's not a big problem if you climb back to the parking area after the sunset but you need to save your parking location 📍 and have enough battery. Animals: there are no animals that can be dangerous. 🩴👟Cloth and shoes: you need cloth which fully covers your body as there are no shadow on the beach. It's crucial to wear shoes that can protect your feet against extremely hot 🔥 sand when you climb through dunes. It can be hot even under the ground. 📍Location: you don't need to pay for the entrance or parking if you go by car to the “Patara Sand Dunes” as all locals do. It’s a beautiful parking slot 500m from the seashore.

Really natural Sand beach that's is a great visit after the Patara Ruins. However I like to point out that in contrast to other reviewers there is an important point that you need to know. The beach is one of the few nesting beaches left for the endangered sea turtles caretta carettas. And as much as I love to tell you all go visit and enjoy the beach, I'd like to also say, please respect the place, keep it clean and leave after sunset. No camping and especially no light / fire as this disturbes the turtles laying eggs and the baby turtles from finding their way to the water.🐢🐢 If you want to sunbath, stay as close by the sea as possible so the area where the turtles lay their eggs at night is not disturbed Thanks for caring🙏! This beach is beautiful. We went mid May and it was very quiet. No sunbeds/umbrellas out but this didn't bother us as we wanted an unspoilt view and walk. Too early for turtle nesting season but you need to bear this in mind from June onwards as there are sections of the beach that you can't sit/lie on. Definitely worth a visit before or after the ruined city.

Tourists totally destroyed the best beach in Turkey. Garbage everywhere. Turtles 🐢 can't stand this any more.

Patara Beach is beautiful beach ⛱️, everything clean, sea with gradual entry. Admission is 40 TRY (beach + ancient city). The beach was very windy, the sea was choppy and cold, considering the history we went to, it is very natural for it to be like this. The sand is very nice from the must-see places, the sea gets deep immediately, it is very enjoyable to play with the waves

Beautiful beach, very long and wide. There are enough space for everyone. Sand dunes during the sunset looks great. Think it's not fair to include this beach to the ticket for the castle, but maybe cause of this the beach is clean

340 lira per person to go to a big beach littered with cigarette butts. The ruins are largely overgrown, with farm livestock grazing amongst them. Quite picturesque if you like that sort of thing but obviously the authority taking the money isn't interested in archeology or conservation. The rebuilt assembly hall sticks out like the proverbial on a snooker table.

Entrance fee per person is 340TL. There is a huge parking lot so no issues finding a place to park a car. Lots of people and only one place to get a shower and WC. You can rent sun beds and umbrellas for 100TL for each unit(card payments accepted at the bar). Equipment is in a bad condition. Water and sand is quite clean. You can grab a drink or snack at the bar.

Nice beach. Big parking place very close. A lot of room on the sand also. The water is ok, good for kids. The problem is the wind. We were there four days in a row (in june) and 90% of the time the wind was so strong you couldn't even open the umbrella.

There is an entry fee to Patara. You can either pay the one off entry fee or get the museum card. The museum card then allows free entry to Patara and other museums across Turkey. For Turkish citizens, this is 60TL and for foreign tourists it’s around 375TL. You can also access the ruins with this as well. The Patara beach is Sandy beach with clear water. However it is extremely hot, you feel like you are really in the middle of a desert. It’s also very windy and there’s big waves in the sea. The beach is sandy and it doesn’t get deep quickly. There is a premise for food and drinks. There’s showers and toilets free of charge. There’s is a good big car park free of charge.

This beach is fun. Great sand, Looks like you’re in a desert, but you’re not- You’re on a beach with clear water, mountains, giant rocks to climb, food and chairs. This beach is made for fun as you can play volleyball or soccer or frisbee. U can even buy trinkets on the way home to remind you a great day. I suggest going for a sunset. Enjoy !

Great stretch of sandy beach, finally something clean and not littered with millions of cigarette butts. 90 lira to get in per adult.

Definitely one of my favorite beach. I usually don’t like sand, super huge beach but this one is stunning for so many reasons. No people (if you go in the middle far away from the restaurants, very clean sea, windy so you can enjoy it also during the hot hours, a unique background with these fabulous sand dunes and an incredible peace. You must go with a beach umbrella and something to drink/eat, but I assure you a very quite place!

Really nice place, the trip on the car was easy and it took us about 40-50 minutes from Kas. On the way to the beach you will be asked to pay 200tl per person. This includes the beach as well as all the ancient sightseeings. I recommend to come here early in the morning as it’s quite popular with the tourists and you will struggle with the marking after 11:00

Nice beach. Gradual sandy slope upto 500m. Gives a feelings like in Swimmingpool. In Bangladesh, the world largest sea beach has simmiliar gradual slope characteristics.

You should definitely stop by after the beach. There is a shop that has affordable and beautiful products. Just above the walking boards, the first shop is the first shop. There is a dazzling design.

I love Patara! The ancient people who chose to settle here and build this amazing city knew what they were doing. Walking down the sands can be a challenge but definitely worth it. We didn’t visit the facilities.

A lovely long sandy beach. A little tricky to walk on as the slope near the water is quite steep, but absolutely doable if you love a stroll in the sand. Once you get past the area near the cafe, you have the place nearly to yourself

What a beauty! Patara beach is known as nest of the caretta carettas. they lay their eggs in this place. That's why Patara is protected as national park. We entered there with our national museum card but i've no idea what procedure they are using for non-turkish citizens. hey if you know, please inform us💕 i went there 13th of June. It was windy but anyway i swam a lot. there was a service for parasols. It is a sandy beach and the sand is white. I loved it. there is a food place over there. the car parking is just 5-10 minutes walking away. it is quite easy to get there. Also there are minibuses to the center of Patara. I definitely loved it.

Sand on this beach is not such tiny so it could be cleaned off more easily and water is not muddy. Looks very similar to an ocean shore but waves are smaller while still very long.

👍👍 Am incredibly beautiful beach nestled between to giant rock formations. We got here at 6 AM to ensure we got a parking spot and to take pictures before the vast amount of people came. 😐 The place is not bad, especially considering that the beach is free. But there are three pretty big minuses for which I shoot two stars. The first problem is a terrible entry into the sea, large stones interfere very much, you constantly slip. The second problem is the cold streams of water, beca...
