Really lovely place. We went for lunch twice during our week staying round the corner in Nelson's Dockyard. There are tables right on the beach, the beer is cold and the cocktails are delicious. Very friendly service and a nice relaxed vibe. They'd just started doing food this week. Everything we had was superb but make sure you have the (Mahi-Mahi) Fish and Chips, even if you're British it'll probably be the best you've ever had! There's great snorkeling right from the beach in front, we saw a Turtle and Ray less than 50m away!!! Thanks for having us, we'll be back....one day!

A lovely beach restaurant/bar. Food is good quality and reasonably priced. Cocktails are excellent. Staff are very friendly. The restaurant has a wonderful view over the bay and is an excellent place to watch the sunset.

It’s actually a beautiful spot The beach bar is really just OKAY to me . The location itself is bright and beautiful with indoor and outdoor seating right on Galleon Beach. I’d say the atmosphere is better than the actual food and service. The food is Mid and the price High. The service is really just okay; nothing to be remembered. There was wifi and they were kind enough to provide me with the passcode. There was nice music to relax when having your meal. A restroom and changing room is also across from the beach bar.

So…. I am a very fair and honest reviewer. I give everyplace the benefit of the doubt and we always have a good time. That said, the Loose Cannon Beach Bar just opened but has some work to do. Or server told us it was her last day and three others were quitting as well because “every customer is rude”..? Say again? We just got there and haven’t even ordered a drink yet, not the way to start things off. Food and service were that of a beginning establishment, makes sense as they are new but management needs to get a handle on the staff. The beach looks beautiful but is all rocks and broken shells. Great place to look at but not to walk around in the water or to swim. Now, that’s not the bars fault at all, just more of a PSA for people looking to take a dip. Head to pigeon point, rendezvous or one of the other 365 beaches.

Excellent! We came here quite a few times during our vacation. Cocktails are great.. Fish&Cheaps and burgers, too! They also have live music during the weekend, and the atmosphere is amazing

This place is a must visit when in Antigua. We visited in the afternoon for a lunch and were more than impressed. Food and drinks were amazing, service was great. We loved the ambience of the authentic beach bar feeling with the upscale quality of the food, drinks and service. The beach and bay were picturesque. We highly recommend!!

What a treasure it was to find this beach and restaurant!! We had no idea where we were going, or what we would find. Walking along the beach we found what is now one of our favorite places at Antigua! The food was fabulous, the music upbeat and fun, yet not obnoxious and overly loud. The team was very accommodating for my food sensitivities. And drinks fabulous. Oh, did I mentioned the small quaint beach? Definitely a locals spot! Highly recommend and decide for yourself!!

My boyfriend and I are obsessed with this place. Come during the day and lounge by the beach. They have day beds to rent but we just brought our own towels. The food is also delicious and comes out fairly fast compared to other places we have been to. Also they have a dj and live band that comes in in the afternoon. You can snorkel in the area too

Loose Cannon is where you will quite literally experience the taste of paradise courtesy of celebrity chef Colin McGurran; the most earthly and engaging Michelin-starred chef you will ever meet. Whether arriving by land, foot, or sea your first glimpse and sense of the restaurant is exactly as you could only dream a beach bar in the Caribbean would be: tropical breeze, palm trees, white sands, translucent blue sea, a jetty, a pair of massive Antiguan cannons (Antigua means “ancient” in Spanish), and an impressive landmark anchor. There is an area cordoned off in the sea exclusively for the use of guests in the bay and inflatable sofas floating in the sea and white day beds adorned with pretty-patterned covers for post-prandial lounging. Loose Cannon is situated on Galleon beach in Freeman’s Bay in English Harbour where Nelson first arrived in Antigua in 1784 and where the Mcgurran family arrived in Lockdown 2020! Thanks to Colin’s experience and impeccable taste you immediately receive a Rolls-Royce reception from him, and his amazing team, and instantly detect the detail of years of his management of high-end establishments such as the speed of service: I had barely entered the restaurant before I was offered a drink by the lovely Sebby from the incredible selection of mouth-watering cocktails and mocktails to the amazing Sommelier selection of wines and Champagne (in a beach bar!) Lucy was incredibly helpful and informative about which wines to choose to accompany the fancy beach bar menu of tapa style dishes and signature main dishes such as the, already infamous on the island, delicious Loose Cannon burger and fries. Thanks to Colin’s global meanderings and knowledge of other cultures and cuisines the menu is a fusion of British classics with West Indian, Arabic and Spanish tapas; interesting and varied (catering for all dietary requirements which we were asked about before ordering). Colin’s Loose Cannon is unique and, without doubt, serving the best and most creative beach bar menu in the whole of the Caribbean. The service was fantastic; all the food arrived fast and was beautifully presented and really tasty. The waiting staff were all so friendly and it was lovely to chat to some of them who previously worked with Colin at his Michelin-starred restaurant Winteringham Fields and who have now come to work at Loose Cannon (such as superstar couple Ryan and Nieve). Colin rightly prides himself on caring enormously for the welfare of his employees and as a result they love to work with him and even follow him half way across the globe. There is a very happy vibe and good energy in the team and this resonates throughout the clientele which is made up of locals, regulars and visitors all visibly and tangibly interacting with each other as they enjoy the delights of Colin’s menu in this idyllic and enchanting corner of the Caribbean. Rumour has it Colin has more tricks up his sleeve with the opening of his next island adventure when he reopens JackieO’s in September this year. I can’t wait to return and sample more delights and iconic scenery from the North side of the island...
