Loose
Cannon
is
where
you
will
quite
literally
experience
the
taste
of
paradise
courtesy
of
celebrity
chef
Colin
McGurran;
the
most
earthly
and
engaging
Michelin-starred
chef
you
will
ever
meet.
Whether
arriving
by
land,
foot,
or
sea
your
first
glimpse
and
sense
of
the
restaurant
is
exactly
as
you
could
only
dream
a
beach
bar
in
the
Caribbean
would
be:
tropical
breeze,
palm
trees,
white
sands,
translucent
blue
sea,
a
jetty,
a
pair
of
massive
Antiguan
cannons
(Antigua
means
“ancient”
in
Spanish),
and
an
impressive
landmark
anchor.
There
is
an
area
cordoned
off
in
the
sea
exclusively
for
the
use
of
guests
in
the
bay
and
inflatable
sofas
floating
in
the
sea
and
white
day
beds
adorned
with
pretty-patterned
covers
for
post-prandial
lounging.
Loose
Cannon
is
situated
on
Galleon
beach
in
Freeman’s
Bay
in
English
Harbour
where
Nelson
first
arrived
in
Antigua
in
1784
and
where
the
Mcgurran
family
arrived
in
Lockdown
2020!
Thanks
to
Colin’s
experience
and
impeccable
taste
you
immediately
receive
a
Rolls-Royce
reception
from
him,
and
his
amazing
team,
and
instantly
detect
the
detail
of
years
of
his
management
of
high-end
establishments
such
as
the
speed
of
service:
I
had
barely
entered
the
restaurant
before
I
was
offered
a
drink
by
the
lovely
Sebby
from
the
incredible
selection
of
mouth-watering
cocktails
and
mocktails
to
the
amazing
Sommelier
selection
of
wines
and
Champagne
(in
a
beach
bar!)
Lucy
was
incredibly
helpful
and
informative
about
which
wines
to
choose
to
accompany
the
fancy
beach
bar
menu
of
tapa
style
dishes
and
signature
main
dishes
such
as
the,
already
infamous
on
the
island,
delicious
Loose
Cannon
burger
and
fries.
Thanks
to
Colin’s
global
meanderings
and
knowledge
of
other
cultures
and
cuisines
the
menu
is
a
fusion
of
British
classics
with
West
Indian,
Arabic
and
Spanish
tapas;
interesting
and
varied
(catering
for
all
dietary
requirements
which
we
were
asked
about
before
ordering).
Colin’s
Loose
Cannon
is
unique
and,
without
doubt,
serving
the
best
and
most
creative
beach
bar
menu
in
the
whole
of
the
Caribbean.
The
service
was
fantastic;
all
the
food
arrived
fast
and
was
beautifully
presented
and
really
tasty.
The
waiting
staff
were
all
so
friendly
and
it
was
lovely
to
chat
to
some
of
them
who
previously
worked
with
Colin
at
his
Michelin-starred
restaurant
Winteringham
Fields
and
who
have
now
come
to
work
at
Loose
Cannon
(such
as
superstar
couple
Ryan
and
Nieve).
Colin
rightly
prides
himself
on
caring
enormously
for
the
welfare
of
his
employees
and
as
a
result
they
love
to
work
with
him
and
even
follow
him
half
way
across
the
globe.
There
is
a
very
happy
vibe
and
good
energy
in
the
team
and
this
resonates
throughout
the
clientele
which
is
made
up
of
locals,
regulars
and
visitors
all
visibly
and
tangibly
interacting
with
each
other
as
they
enjoy
the
delights
of
Colin’s
menu
in
this
idyllic
and
enchanting
corner
of
the
Caribbean.
Rumour
has
it
Colin
has
more
tricks
up
his
sleeve
with
the
opening
of
his
next
island
adventure
when
he
reopens
JackieO’s
in
September
this
year.
I
can’t
wait
to
return
and
sample
more
delights
and
iconic
scenery
from
the
North
side
of
the
island...
