Nice and cozy atmosphere. It's a well known place and a popular place for families and friends to meet up. The menu changes constantly which offers a lot of new dishes to try out. Everything is made fresh and only as long as it lasts, and is therefore always very excellent. Plenty of drinks and deserts to choose from. There's a parking lot available but be aware that it fills up quickly and just around an hour after opening it will be full completely.

We did a “taste of Antigua” tour here thru NCL 🚢 cruise line and I would give it 6 stars if I could! We tasted three different rums, and they give you refills, the food was great, but most importantly, they covered a little bit of everything: history, education, currency, language - was my favorite one (!), wildlife and life after hurricane Awesome guides !!! John and Megan took great care of us! They shared a taste of Antiqua we couldn't have gotten anywhere else! Great homemade Rum Punch and anther local drink made from a flowering plant (wish I remembered what that was), and high quality local rum! Thanks for a great experience!!

What a great way to spend a few hours understanding how rum influenced the island economy, really good local knowledge and lots of rum to try too, although I have to admit the bread pudding with the rum sauce was delicious 😋Thank you every one for being so welcoming even the guy who wanted his rum shop to be open when we were having our talk, hope you managed to get a drink later 🍺

They display a lot of nice rums up to 15 year old but only served the 2 & 5 year old on our tour. Food was ok but the chicken finger was very good. Was very hot today. 🔥

Drove here from English Harbour for a Friday evening drink, and it was closed. No idea what the opening hours are, but the ones on Google are wrong.

<Food poisoning> This was a shore excursions from Royal Caribbean. For starters the description from the cruise line made it sound like a distillery tour but it was not. We sat in the bar listening to 10 min about rum, 1 hr about carnival, 1 hr about socialism and were offered small tasting of three rums, not even half a shot. Then we ate a small plate consisting of a chicken strip, 1 conch fritter, a jerk chicken leg, salad and a drink of plum juice they called golden apple. My wife went to the bathroom and their was a live rat in a trap back there. 4 hrs later the food poisoning hit and my wife was violently ill for 5 hours. It's now 2 days later and she is feeling like she was kicked in the sides and is afraid to eat anything.

We had a great time at the Backyard. They had a nice lunch for everyone on our tour. There was also much sampling of good Rum. We then had a young lady who took us through the history of Antigua. She was very knowledgeable and answered many questions.

Great Service, Excellent Food and Drinks. Probably the only place where you get bang for the buck! Incidentally if you are a fan of cricket the Backyard has a place of honour reserved for THE Greatest cricketer 'Sir Vivian Richards'.
