We
booked
a
cruise
ship
excursion
recently
(April
2018)
which
turned
out
to
be
Tropical
Adventures
Antigua’s
“Excellence
Circumnavigation
Tour”.
When
we
disembarked
the
ship,
we
were
escorted
onto
a
nearby
catamaran
(Excellence).
After
a
short
wait,
we
were
off.
The
initial
ride
was
slow
and
smooth
as
we
all
got
our
sea
legs.
We
stopped
briefly
at
a
nearby
beach
to
pick
up
some
hotel
guests.
How
cool
for
them
to
have
a
catamaran
pull
up
onto
the
beach
and
allow
them
to
board.
The
drinks
were
plentiful
onboard
and
included
rum
punch,
various
sodas,
or
water.
A
head
(bathroom)
was
in
the
lower
level
of
the
vessel
but
we
did
not
actually
see
it
so
can’t
speak
to
how
clean
it
was.
There
were
lots
of
seating
options
including
outside
on
benches
and
inside
under
shade
on
benches.
There
were
also
some
nets
that
you
could
sit
on
at
the
front.
When
we
got
to
open
water,
we
were
warned
that
it
was
quite
rough
today
and
things
were
going
to
get
bumpy.
My
husband
and
I
decided
to
stay
out
on
the
front
deck
and
staff
made
sure
we
sat
low
and
hung
on
securely
to
the
railing.
They
even
assigned
one
person
to
sit
near
us
and
watch
to
make
sure
we
were
OK.
It
was
very
bouncy
and
exciting
but
also
really
fun.
Everybody
else
stayed
inside
and
towards
the
back
so
less
bumpy
and
less
wind
for
them.
After
a
short
while,
we
arrived
at
a
small
deserted
island
and
pulled
up
onto
the
beach.
The
boat
put
down
a
staircase
and
we
walked
down
approximately
10
shallow
steps
and
onto
the
sand.
Very
easy.
At
this
point
we
were
given
the
option
of
taking
a
snorkeling
tour
with
a
guide
or
hanging
out
on
the
beach.
I
snorkeled
while
my
husband
put
his
towel
down
on
a
private
spot
on
the
beach.
It
was
my
first
time
snorkeling.
All
equipment
was
provided/included.
I
don’t
think
snorkeling
is
particularly
challenging
and
a
good
thing
as
there
really
wasn’t
any
instruction.
We
just
kind
of
figured
it
out
and
started
following
our
guide.
From
what
I
understand,
this
wasn’t
a
particularly
amazing
spot
to
see
colourful
fish
or
turtles
but
atleast
it
was
protected
water
that
was
easy
for
beginners
to
navigate.
I
really
enjoyed
it
and
am
now
going
to
snorkel
more
when
the
opportunity
arises.
After
an
hour
or
so,
we
were
called
back
to
the
boat
and
a
meal
was
ready
for
us.
We
had
the
choice
of
fried
fish
or
BBQ
chicken,
plus
rice
and
salad.
As
always,
the
drinks
were
free-flowing.
The
food
was
fine
–
and
everything
always
tastes
better
when
you
are
eating
outdoors!
After
lunch,
we
packed
up
and
went
back
out
onto
the
water
again
and
started
circumnavigating
the
island
as
we
made
our
way
back
to
the
dock.
The
ride
was
mostly
smooth.
It
was
really
fun
to
sit
on
the
outside
benches
and
point
out
all
of
the
beautiful
homes
we
were
passing.
I
know
which
one
I
would
pick
if
millions
of
dollars
fell
into
my
lap.
We
were
back
on
shore
with
plenty
of
time
to
spare
so
didn’t
feel
stressed
about
missing
the
cruise
ship’s
departure.
The
staff
were
all
very
low-key
and
had
great
senses
of
humour.
Tips
appreciated.
All
in
all,
it
was
one
of
my
absolute
favourite
excursions
and
I
would
definitely
book
with
Tropical
Adventures
when
I’m
in
the
neighbourhood
again.
