Their pasta and nachos, which was what we ordered, are just about average. The place is spacious and yes, you get a view with your coffee. I think those are the only pros of the place. Ordered a french press of Estrelya and it was good. My friend had their Kaulayaw coffee but I don't think she was impressed with the taste. They don't offer any service water, so either you'll have to bring your own or buy bottled water. The service time was quite okay but the servers aren't that attentive. For extra condiments, like mayo or hot sauce, you'll have pay extra.

I would only give this place a star because of the following reasons: 1. Parking - if you're driving to this place with a car. It will be such a headache to find a slot. So better go there as early as you can. Else, it will be park at your own risk. 2. Staff - another frustration from our side. Their staff aren't attentive at all. From the moment we ordered, food serving until bill out. It's such a pain! We've been waving our hand and even called them but it's like taking them ages before they can assist their customers. Even worse, they pretend as if they don't see at all. 3. Food - let me divide it into two items. Cost, yeah it is affordable but I would say there's nothing so special with how they cook it, neither serve it. Have a glance with the food we ordered and how they prepared it. It's BURNED!!! I'm uncertain if they somehow knew the difference between toast and burned. 4. Location - hmmm..view yeah, can do. But not as outstanding like other places that I've been too. And it can be freaking hot in the morning to the point that we can't wait for our food and just leave. 5. Ambiance - that time when we were there, it's freaking noisy. Not to mention the drilling and music all together. I know they wanna earn that quick, but please schedule those maintenance on the day when you're not open. And the music, it's too loud that I feel like I'm in bar. Instead of enjoying a soothing morning breakfast.

If you want to waste an hour or more for an overpriced and distasteful drinks and food, come here at the 'Kaulayaw Coffee' Antipolo! 🥲 I ordered their 'Kaulayaw Tablea' which took almost an hour for them to serve. The taste is so awful that made a good recipe for an upset stomach. (My head is much hotter than the drink that I ordered! 😡) Tried also their 'Bahaghari' nachos, and meh, the ground beef is way too salty which would make you check your blood pressure! 😵‍💫 The place is also cramped and hot! 🥵 (Be ready to smell like their food!) Overall, the place is not recommendable! 🙅 Please do not believe online vloggers over hyping this cafe! 😤 NEVER AGAIN! 😣

The place is easily located along the highway and has good amount of parking spaces. The place is a bit crowded for me and it's "magulo". There were no hosts to sit us, we just did it ourselves. The food, however, is too pricey for its taste. The food were okay, nothing special. Just your standard food but it has good presentation. The meat in all of the dishes we ordered weren't tender, it gets stuck in between your teeth. Matcha Latte tastes too milky, not enough matcha powder I guess.. Although, Oreo Frap tasted good! Overlooking view is really nice and amazing! But that was it. I won't come back here again, nothing special. Dining here once is good enough.

A very nice place with a great view to have your afternoon coffee and a light snack. Dont expext much from the menu though. Many items are not available which is a dissapointment. 1 local coffee only available during our visit. Food could be improved with the high price tag.

If you think this is helpful leave it a 👍 Allow me to share with you my review of Kaulayaw Cafe based on the below, as of January 2021: MUST GO: for the overlooking view from Antipolo of the city Food 👍👍👍 👍 4 of 5 The orders were served within twenty minutes. We had aglio olio pasta 😓, chicken satay with peanut sauce on rice 🙂, and a sandwich 🙂. For drinks we had ice cold beer - Alcalde☺️ All was okay except the pasta was too spicy 🔥 like there was nothing to indicate that on the menu, and the server made no mention upon ordering. 😓 It was spicy beyond tolerance we had to ask for water, and even then, we could only finish half of it. The portions are small, and to be honest, the food is as good as anywhere else. I don't mean to discredit them, but I imagine you won't go here if you're hungry. Go here if you want to chill and admire the night sky 🌃 I didn't try their coffee yet, hopefully that's something excellent. Let me know if you tried! Ambience 👍👍👍👍👍 5 of 5 The view was amazing. We went in the evening and the city lights were lovely. Given the open air setup, you can feel the chilly breeze of Antipolo. I tried to snap as much photos without ruining the day for other diners, check those out. Interior decor and furniture give a relaxed vibe. Comfy? Not so much. I think it was designed that way to discourage overstaying. Accessibility 👍👍👍👍👍 5 of 5 Direct parking wheelchair ramp at the ground floor what's to complain about. Separate toilet for male, female. Cost 👍👍👍👍 4 of 5 The menu has been uploaded, judge for thyself. I felt the price was a little but though compared to the food quality, but please by all means, give them a try. I know they support local businesses so maybe that's part of the cost, but again, I only tried a few from the menu. For the view and the ambience, I think it makes it up to you. ✌️😉 Service 👍👍👍👍👍 5 of 5 To be fair this is my first visit. The staff were polite, although not as attentive - probably because we came in primetime busy. Checkout the pictures, let me know if you drop by and if anything is crazy good on the menu. 😉 #TCBeans

Fantastic view, lovely atmosphere, great service (staff are smiling), but pricey food. Its pricing does not correspond with its quality or flavor. I could have had nicer pasta for the same cost. The coffee and refreshment are decent but not outstanding. We are still likely to return here, if solely for the location and scenery. I hope they improve the food 🤞

HIRANG! i love it! 🤍 One of the two reasons why I gave 3⭐️ The other reason would be the view. I love the view fromm2nd floor but that's it. Okay. Let me give you an honest review. -We ordered 3 coffees - Amore, Dayang amd Hiraya. We drank only half of it because we didn't like the taste. It's either too sweet or the taste of the coffee and milk didn't blend well. We've been to a lot of coffee shops but we really don't like this one. I love how they incorporated Filipino concept in their menu or even on their physical store. Am not sure if they used Philippine coffee beans in their coffee (i hope they do) but they should do a taste test and give justice to our own products. -Please use clean table wipers. Your tables smell...really bad. Amoy basahang hindi nahugasan. At least use a spray so it wont smell. Maybe that's one of the reasons why I didn't like the food. From the moment we sat down and waited for our order to be served, we can smell the foul smell of your table. -Dirty Restroom. Don't have water in the faucet. No flush. Only one cubicle for men and women. Imagine. -crews were nice BUT... Forgot to take our orders. Forgot to give straws when they served us the coffee. Forgot to serve the cakes. Forgot to give us water. It's management's fault because i think they are understaffed. Considering the volume of the customers and the price of your products, you should hire more or at least give incentives to your staff for overworking. If I were to come back to Rizal, I would definitely try other cafes nearby. It's not worth it considering the long drive, traffic and long queues. Shout out to you, Kuya guard! He was really funny and nice! He entertained us while waiting to be seated.

4 stars for the place. Ambiance is good, however, food is a bit pricey for the serving size. Tastewise, its nothing special. I was served with a cold carbonara. They are not also flexible to some of customer’s request. This is not a place to go if you are looking for good food in Antipolo. We travelled and brave the rain and traffic just to be here but we were disappointed with our experience. This is an honest opinion, I don’t mean to discredit them. Hope this helps the management to improve their customer service and food quality.

Parking isn’t easy but there are kind neighborhood folks who will help you find a good spot. Visited on a Sunday January 10 2020 at 3PM-ish and place has a queue but the good thing is, it is managed well but you might have to wait longer if you want a seat or seats in the “overlooking” area. Which just means more close to outdoor but wherever you are seated - whereever, you can still appreciate the view. Better not to be seated in the over looking part on the 2nd floor if you think it might rain because it doesn’t have a roof. Didn’t have the chance to check the third floor. Ordered kaulayaw coffee which according to the server is the best seller. I don’t recall the exact price but it’s iced and it felt like I spent 129 or 139 or 149? And the quantity is like a tall (?) americano size from SB and then ice was added. Ordered the salmon at 498 and I’m so happy it’s a thick cut! it’s worth it. Ordered roti with egg and was unhappy because it was 2 slices, cut in half. And the egg. I expected at least 4 slices for the price of 100++ Wagyu cubes was 350++ with rice and no drink Tocino with egg was 229?? I don’t recall the price and with rice and no drink Despite a long queue and continuous pour of customers, our food was served in 20 to 25 mins as mentioned by the server. I noticed they cleaned each table once a customer leaves 👍 Music was loud so we tend to speak louder where if it were not, folks wouldn’t have to exert much effort which also means less spread of air but of course, if you don’t want to be exposed. STAY HOME. Fortunately, the customers observed wearing a mask if not eating or drinking. The toilets were clean and had no odor. Place was well lit too. I would go back for the view and maybe try the other coffee only 😊

Good place to hangout. Nice Antipolo viewing deck. Limited parking space. Nearby pay parking is Php50. Good coffee. Food nothing special, limited options. Place and ambiance could still be improved. Saw Freddie Aguilar dining in with friends.

It was a good experience. The food was amazing the flavors are good food presentation - BEAUTIFUL!!! the staff were helpful and attentive there’s enough parking space available the ambience, has room for improvement. I, personally, am not a fan of animals roaming around the dining area because sometimes they just jump up the tables.. so maybe that’s something that they can work on. Overall it was a nice experience, will definitely recommend this place.

We dont usually eat out these days but for last Saturday we decided to have breakfast on one of the places in Sumulong Hiway Antipolo where the weather is cool and the place is not too crowded at this time of the day. Our desire to maximize our stay at the place had us ordering the Magayon (Tapa with egg and rice), Liwayway (Bacon and Egg Pancake sandwich), Lungti (Pesto Pasta with Buttered Seared Chicken) and Kundiman (American Pancake). For our drinks we got hot French Press coffee Liyag (Benguet Blend - Dark Roast) and Irog (Sagada Blend - Light Roast). The staff made sure our order was served fresh, hot and on time. There is parking available. The place is open until 10:00pm but last call for orders is 8:30pm.

Conveniently located along the national highway, with a great view of Manila skyline. There is not much parking space though. The place is always packed with customers so expect that there is a wait list. Upon entry, host will advise that you can only stay for an hour upon serving of food- no big deal for us. Foods and drinks are generally great- Monte Cristo Sandwich is a must try. Prices are competitive but still budget-friendly. I am also very pleased with their warm service - staff are very engaging. From start to finish, we were accommodated very well. Kudos also to this establishment for helping and supporting Kanlungan ni Maria! 💓💕💞

A very relaxing ambience for a restaurant with a nice overlooking view. They have a very reasonable price for their food and services, it's definitely worth a try 😁

  • 4/5 Brylle S. 6 months ago on Google
Food is mediocre than what we expected, drinks were average and their snacks like french fries and nachos has a room for improvement to match their pricing. The ambiance is cool, probably more of what you're paying for when you visit the place. Service is good but could be better, it takes time for their staff to attend to your requests and orders.

It gets pretty hot here especially during the afternoon since the sun is right in front of you and there's not much shade inside. The food was alright but I enjoyed their beverages more. Their Matcha was 3/5, it can still be improved. Their coffee here was good and everything is considered affordable. Parking can be an issue as well so make sure to go on a less busy day. The view is spectacular though!

  • 5/5 Jae R. 4 months ago on Google
Excellent view of the skyline from the dining room, even without going out on the terrace. It's great that they offer locally sourced coffee beans and I'm also glad they offer traditional food and desserts, yum! A little pricey but I think the view and the quality are worth it. We came in the early afternoon so it was easy to park, apparently it's very complicated at night (the city lights are a big attraction).

Even though we are in a queue when we arrived, it takes a short time to wait for us to he called and be seated. Staff are very accommodating, food is affordable and we love if both pasta and coffee. Definitely can take a photo because of the view especially as we are seated in the 3rd floor to dine.

  • 4/5 Chelse Racar C. 2 years ago on Google
Got there few minutes earlier than the opening hour and we're 2nd in line. The interior's theme is local which gives an ambiance of a simple farm life added by the just right soundtrack of OPM. Everything goes together except the available menu. We plan to have rice breakfast (as how Filipinos do), but the waiter said it's available by 10am. We're there before 7am so waiting for few more hours is really not an option so we opted for an american breakfast that is readily available. Food's taste is nothing special. It's really the view, ambiance, and location that makes it well known by people coming from the metro.

  • 5/5 Gerard A. 2 years ago on Google
Situated just along Sumulong highway, on the side going up Antipolo, this coffee shop is a nice date venue for breakfast or dinner. They have good coffee, kombucha, and other drinks. Food is pretty good too. I recommend the tapa meal and the masagana meal (fully loaded). The view offered is very very relaxing. You'll see the mountain, laguna bay, and the whole of metro manila. Just spectacular.

The only thing unique about this restaurant is the panoramic view, but the food is ordinary. The menu pricing are a little high. The flavors of the dish are decent. Nothing particularly stood out. They don't offer service water. The restroom is spotless.

I just had a super enjoyable weekend lunch at Kaulayaw Coffee which is a café located on the verdant hills of Antipolo, east of Metro Manila. The main attraction of this place is of course the ambiance and the bird’s-eye-view backdrop of the metropolis while enjoying the greenery, fresh air, the good food and of course the various coffee concotions and dessert. For coffee, I’ve enjoyed with my meal their Bukang Liwayway, a carbonated cold Pineapple drink with espresso. After a lunch of their adobo (Yugto) and beef croquette (Ligaya), I had their Kaulayaw Special Blend coffee (Benguet origin) brewed via French press. This was paired with Alcalde Suman (rice cake) and Palitaw de Sumakah. As you enter this place, you’ll be immediately greeted by the smiling security guard. In as much as the wait staff wanted to please their customers, I noticed, though, that they’re kinda tired (probably due to the avalanche of volume orders and the weekend crowd flocking to there). Perhaps the Management should add more temp staff on busy days, especially weekends. Not to be missed also is their Meownager, their very sweet resident cat (don’t feed her as Kaulayaw explicitly warned in their website) who’s more than willing to lie on your lap to be petted.

  • 1/5 Dx B. 2 years ago on Google
Cafe with a nice cityscape view of the metro with creative names for their food and drinks, but that's it! From parking to dining, expect the feeling that you owe them a favor for being there. If they're treating their paying customers that way, I wonder how they transact with their suppliers if they're sourcing directly from the local producers. 🤔

The view is amazing. However, the main restaurant is overcrowded. Tables are so close together that you can hear other tables chat LOL There's a dirty and hungry cat roaming around, asking for food.I hope they groom and adopt him since pet friendly naman sila. Since mahangin madaming tissue and paper -like trash sa sahig, andun lang sila sa floor nakakalat and no staff bothers to pick up. CR is at the 2nd floor, the space is limited and the floor is wet. Not sure if 3rd floor is much better. We just ordered 2 mains and one drink that took 40mins. There’s a lot of customers since meryenda time. Dumating na yung isang main and halos 20 mins pa yung hinintay namin para dun sa isa. Food is not that great for its price. LASANG POTHOLDER yung seafood marinara. IDK if its rancid or dahil sa seafoods. Seafood is off, yung tahong mukang kawawa. And honestly yung Nachos parang nabili lang sa kanto. Waiters are not organized some of them were attentive, some looks confused. they are not even in proper attire so we dont know which is which. Yung baso din po malansa. I hope you read this kind of comment and work on it para maiprove yung food and service nyo.

Nice al fresco restaurant near the Metro. Good time is early morning before lunch. Parking space is available just ask guard and kuyas. Good food and right amount of serving! Personally liked the tapa because it was tasteful and meat was soft. Will definitely go back with that view and food!

We went to Kaulaw laat weekend afternoon with a reservation. But there is a minor confusion to the dates we reserve cause my name is not on yhe list. I message them on IG and they replied asap, the staffs are accomodating as well and the issue has been resolved immediately. I also appreciate that the manager handle it very nicely too. The place is cozy, as they are in the process of expansion which is good knowing they becoming popular for visits. We enjoy the night with few coffees, the accousitc band at night, and the overlooking city lights from Manila. I recommend going there at daylight or afternoon to enjoy the view while sipping a hot coffee. Hope they can have more food option soon, but the food was nice (just my opinion)

Typical coffee shop with a view. Only hyped by social media stunts. The food is good but a lil pricey, coffee is okay but does not have that wow factor. A bit crowded and has time limit if you dine in there, they have this 1 hr policy to go out after the last order is fully served. MEH.

We've been excited since last night to visit the store but turn out to be a disappointment. We didn't expect that we'll experience this service as we are looking forward to the good food and services based on reviews we saw online apart from the highly raved overlooking view. Arrived at 8:55am upon arrival no one assisting for guest on entrance no worries. 9:20am someone finally placed our order after multiple times of trying to get the attention of the staff. 9:35am the first set of food finally arrived (but with missing drink also no utensils). 9:43am the second set of orders arrived with an iced coffee but tasted almost like water as the ice melted and watered it down. The coffee for first set of order was still not served. After waiting for another 10-15 min because there was no other waiter on that floor, we followed up with the staff about the missing drink and utensils. It looked like she's not aware about the pending drink. She immediately served the coffee after that follow up. Asked for ice that was requested the minute we initially ordered. By the time everything was completed the food was hardly warm so we also asked for the bill as we wasted enough time in the place and wanted to get going asap. When the bill was payed we didn't want to waste another second and left. We waited an hour for everything to be completed and served after asking multiple times and waiting for servers on our floor. They weren't even aware that the table wasn't complete and what orders were still missing. The view was nice, ambiance was pretty. The plates and tables were also instagrammable but the service and food wasn't worth the hassle. Taste and serving size was so-so. Just to summaries my reviews: Ambiance: 9/10 Service: 1/10 Food: 3/10 Price: 2/10 Ps. The time above is base on the picture time stamp.

Made confirmed advance reservation but when we arrived we were asked to wait and they took our contact number again so that they will just text us once the table is ready. We were offered to dine first at Doubledeck resto which was below their restaurant. We really had a bad experience at Doubledeck resto Bar and we tried to go back to kaulayaw to follow up on our table but they just kept saying they will text us. Everytime we follow up we can see new people taking other tables eventhough we should be the first to dine because we made an advance reservation and they confirmed it. Because of the rude staff and bad service as well as not delicious food, we ended up going home. After 2 hours, we just received a text from Kaulayaw that they have prepared our table. WHAT THE HELL??? more than 2 hours even though we had a confirmed advance reservation. Also, they delete comments on their page specially if it's about their bad service and staff as well as improvement on their food. Aesthetic but no quality.

We travelled two hours for this caffee house only to be disappointed! Almost all the menu were not available considering that they only operated for 3 hours. They opened at 11:00 am December 30, 2020. We arrived at 2:00 pm. The store was only half full and yet almost all products were no longer available. The reason? They have just marinated the products! The place isn't so impressive.

A one of a kind coffee experience. Ambience is great. And knowing this shop help local businesses really have a great impact in one's community. Having a great day after an activity in Tanay, let this place helps you relax while drinking your coffee in a wonderful scenic view...

Nice ambience. Good for reducing stress levels and some quality time with your loved ones. The scenery is a stunning view of Taytay, Cainta, and Metro Manila. The best time to come is around sunset time, for a view of sunset in the city.

3 stars overall. location is very good. metro manila night scenery can be seen here. for the coffee and other food, maybe not worth the price, but, you can enjoy the overlooking view of metro manila while having a sip of coffee.

Got a chance to visit this place on the very first weekend of the year. It was quite a busy Saturday but we were able to get a table with this amazing overlooking view of Metro Manila. We ordered iced latte and oreo iced bleded. The view is to die for!

One of the crew said if we weren't informed that it was hot there. Which was kinda rude. Also it would be nice if there was a roof on the veranda or maybe umbrellas. The pasta wasn't good. The tablea was okay, nothing out of the ordinary.

(Translated by Google) I can't stand not giving a review to this shop. I can skip the very slow service of foods and ordering because I thought it was new and everyone was adjusting. But what I cannot tolerate was the rude approach of the owner to her staff. My whole family is just sitting at the counter so we can all hear how he talks and gives instructions to his waiters and kitchen staff. I am referring to the not so tall woman with long hair, wearing shorts and long sleeves. The business depends on the staff. Employees particularly in a business like yours, can make or break your business. Treat them well, be polite to them even if you are the owner. We overheard everything so I was able to react. They can sabotage your products. Please treat them well, give them instructions calmly, do not apprehend them while at work or infront of the customers. Do not terrorize them because it affects their competencies. (Original) Di ko yata matiis na di magbigay ng review sa shop na ito. Mapapalagpas ko ang very slow service ng foods at ordering kase naisip ko na bago pa lang at nag aadjust ang lahat. But what I cannot tolerate was the rude approach of the owner to her staff. Nakaupo lang kase ang buong pamilya ko sa counter kaya naririnig namin lahat kung paano sya makipag usap at magbigay ng instructions sa mga waiters nya at kitchen staff. There was a construction at the lower section of the cafe, super noisy and super dusty. Also very limited menu and most of the items are out of stock.
