We opted for a takeaway, and Yak was highly recommended; it didn't disappoint! We had a mix of lamb and chicken Jholilo Masu, and it is exceptional! The chicken was incredibly moist, and the lamb was perfectly tender....next time we'll be sitting in to enjoy our dinner with a glass of wine, and the wonderful charm of the staff. Top marks from us. 05-Jan update. We went for a sit in meal, and the staff are so welcoming. The food was again exceptional. If you want to try something traditional, get yourself to Yak. I'll let the pictures talk for themselves.

Charming staff, pleasant & airy Covid cautious restaurant, great menu ( including lots of options for Coeliac / Gluten intolerance), well presented &beautifully cooked absolutely delicious food ,quality ingredients ,decent portions & can choose mild, medium, hot or extra hot spiciness. Well deserved awards..couldn't recommend more highly! (And public car park opposite with free evening parking).

Walked into the restaurant without a table booking, was welcomed and seated straight away. Staff had excellent customer service, tended to all our needs, provided cold water jug and glasses whilst we pondered the menu. Once ordered food came out quickly. Food tasted exceptional and was well presented. Would go again!

Myself and 3 friends had dinner at yak's last night and had a great time. Two of us were having a birthday and after dinner the staff brought us a cake with candles and some bubbly. A lovely gesture. I'm sure we'll be back.

We got another takeaway from Yak's. The food is great and the family loved their curry. So fresh. Would recommend it to everyone

A disappointing Saturday evening meal. Restaurant was busy on upper level but not so much on ground floor. Staff were very friendly. My main grumble however was that it was a good 40 minutes before we got any starters. Our main course was good however I ordered a chicken main and my husband a lamb main when it arrived both were chicken . Would I eat here again?? Probably not. Failed to meet my expectations and I left feeling disappointed.

Looking for a delicious curry, look no further as Yaks was amazing. My partner and I recent were up from the south looked on Google for Indian/Asian food and founds Yaks, had dinner here and it was fantastic. Everything was super, the food, service and feel. Would highly recommend and definitely will be back when back in the North!

I am a Canadian visiting family in Bangor, I noticed this place on a walkabout the town. I thought the name was hilarious, I can only assume Yaks means different things in different countries. Anyway, I talked my Aunt and Cousins into going and it was just great, 5 stars across the board. We showed up not long before closing, but we were welcomed in and treated so well. The food was just amazing, very like the Indian I was used to but with some different Nepalese curries on the menu as well, and the MoMos......these were divine, fried and steamed. Julia was a really lovely girl serving us and I would recommend this place to anyone.

Brilliant food. Really interesting menu with the Nepalese special section. Fantastic vegan options too and they made a special request tofu curry for our 4 year old. Lovely staff who did everything we asked and surprised us with an anniversary treat for the parents.

My wife and I went for an early evening dinner on Saturday. When we arrived there was only 1 other couple in the very spacious restaurant. We were seated quickly and ordered our drinks. We had just given our food orders when nearly 100 arrived for a private party so the service slowed away down after that. We had to ask twice for drink refills. 25 minutes after our order the food arrived. Well presented and tasty food but nothing special. A few more customers arrived both families and couples. Reasonable prices comparable to any where else in Bangor. Good parking nearby on street and a car park opposite. Free glass of fizzy wine with the bill.

Food delivered fantastic though missing items and bad responese when we rang to say they left out an item we were asked to come pick it up, not possible. We spent the guts of£100, so far no answer since! Food great, customer service not so fair!

Staff are so pleasant and the food unreal. Never was a massive fan of Indian food but will always jump at the chance to go to Yak's, absolute great dining experience.

Fantastic meal in Yaks this evening for hubby's birthday. So glad that Les from Cotswold Outdoor recommend this place, excellent meal and they went out of their way and provided a lovely cake with sparkles and fizzy wine, such a lovely thought. Highly recommended and although we live 35 miles away, will definitely be back for a great coastal walk then meal in Yaks.

Loved this place. Had a number of dishes we'd never heard of, so gave them a shot and they were all delicious. Can't wait to get back!

Indian-Nepalese eats done flawlessly. Jolly service, great (great!) food. All the familiar classics, done to the highest standard and spiced according to preference, plus some lovely things that you don't get just anywhere. Recommend the choila and the chicken 65. Vegan friendly in a big way too.

We had a fabulous meal at Yaks last night. We ordered three main dishes from the menu and they were all very tasty. The service was excellent, the waiting staff being very attentive. We will certainly be back.

We loved this place. The place is eclectic, welcoming and spacious... just what I like. The atmosphere and staff were great and the food is spectacular. I highly recommend this place. So many Gluten free options and wheelchair accessible (although I cannot comment on the bathrooms). I would highly recommend a visit.

Awesome place to eat in Bangor! We ordered non-veg platter, fried lamb Momos in starters and Chicken Jholilo Masu, Garlic nan in main course. Food was great and so is the service! Definitely would love to be back to this place. Food - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Staff - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ambience - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ What else you need?

Have had many takeaway meals from here and have been waiting over a year and a half to sit in and eat. It was definitely worth the wait! Customer service is exceptional, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. It’s a large dining space that is beautifully decorated and plenty if space for social distancing. The spice level of each meal can be adjusted from mild, medium, hot to very hot. The food tastes delicious and is wonderfully presented. There are great vegetarian/ vegan options with most other curries being vegan-adaptable. We had the tofu masala, aloo gobi, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala and chicken korma with roti, pershwari, and cheese naan, as well as pilau rice and masala chips. All plates were empty at the end of the meal and we were given complimentary bubbly and cake because it was a going-away dinner. Best Nepalese and Indian restaurant in Northern Ireland.

We haven't been here for a few years but we have definitely been missing out! What a fantastic experience we had. Five stars for the steamed dumpling starter alone!! I had a rather unusual choice of noodles with chicken which was perfectly cooked with delicious lightly bbq'd chicken pieces and subtle flavours coming through the fiery spice. Service was flawless and attentive with plenty of well informed advice about the menu. Well done yaks! You could give some of your competitors tips on service!!
