A
Colonial
Legacy!
10/10♥️
Totally
worth
the
money.
One
of
the
most
calm
and
peaceful
places
I’ve
ever
been
to🍃😇
This
place
Built
a
century
ago,
in
the
time
of
the
British
Governor,
Henry
Arthur
Blake,
the
Sanctuary
at
Tissawewa,
known
as
Grand
Hotel
Anuradhapura
back
then,
is
a
colonial
style
hotel
that
encapsulates
undeniable
old-world
charm.
Hotel
staff
was
super-super-friendly
and
their
service
is
5
star
⭐️
(Specially
Shantha
&
Damith
-
they
told
us
the
history
behind
this
hotel
and
many
more
stories
of
the
ancient
city
of
Anuradhapura)
Everything
in
the
hotel
rhyme
with
the
colonial
architecture.
Rooms
are
well
appointed
and
clean
(They
have
Double,Triple
&
Family
Rooms
-
family
rooms
can
accommodate
for
4).
Food
was
really
tasty👌🏻
This
place
is
located
in
the
Pooja
Nagaraya
(There
are
very
few
hotels
located
in
this
area).
Also
they
are
giving
you
free
bicycles
at
day
time🚲.
I’ve
been
to
the
ancient
city
many
times
and
believe
me
cycling
is
the
best
way
to
explore
the
ancient
city.
Distance
from
the
hotel
to
Atamasthana
-
අටමස්ථාන
as
follows;
1.
Mirisawetiya
-
220
m
2.
Sri
Maha
Bodhiya
-
1
km
3.
Lowamahapaya
-
1.1km
4.
Ruwanweli
Maha
Seya
-
1.3
km
5.

6.

Would
highly
recommend
this
place
to
anyone
who
love
colonial
architecture
and
peaceful
place
to
stay
in
Anuradhapura♥️
