A very good hotel to stay in if you are visiting the ancient Sacred City of Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka. Located in a tranquil, wooded land with ample garden and parking space. Food offered is vegetarian but chicken or fish can be ordered aside. Food quality is good. Rooms and bathrooms in the older wing needs large scale upgrading tho. Friendly and efficient staff. Courteous and helpful.

Very good place to stay if you are visiting Anuradhapura. Give a call to book a room with your requirements. Just confirm if you need lunch or dinner early enough, they will provide a nice dish. If there are many guests, there will be a buffet. Good food and good staff. We got Triple room with AC for 2 times. Was good condition, well cleaned. Only problem was Plug point, which was stuck with broken pen ( by another guest I guess) but I managed to charge my phone. There wasn't Iron ( I didn't need).

We were able to book a double room with AC for one night for Rs. 8,277/= which included dinner, next day morning tea and breakfast. That was a very reasonable price I would say. We made the reservation through a phone call and paid online few days ahead. Clean rooms and friendly staff. They even help pilgrims to make 'kiri ahara' for pooja for an extra charge. Food was really tasty and up to Sri Lankan spice levels. Definitely recommending to anyone for a decent stay who visits Anuradhapura puja city. May 2023

With the usual expectations of lower level services of similar tourist board rest houses, this place prooved to be better. I would say it was value for money. The rooms were with basic, but good facilities. Service staff were friendly. Food is vegetarian, but not so bad. For those on budget but expecting a decent, clean room with newly fitted bathroom fitting, this would be a best place. The only hinderance during my stay was the ongoing refurbishing/construction works which was a bit noisy, and not allowing the common places to be accessed.

This place is nice to stay if you are visiting Anuradhapura. They serve vegetarian dishes and the food is tasty. We had a pleasant stay there. The prices are very low. Update : September, 2023 Recently visited and there was a new complex added which offered deluxe rooms with all the basic facilities (room towels, coffee sachets, creamer sachets, electric kettle) but there was no soap, shower gel and shampoo included in the package. Normal AC room was only a few thousands different from the deluxe rooms but the facilities were disproportionately less; no room towels, no facilities for a tea (no electric kettle, tea/coffee sachets, no mineral water), no blankets (provided when asked from the reception). The morning tea could be taken from the morning breakfast buffet when requested for both packages. The place is still under construction however for the low charges it is definitely worth it. And food was really good too. Would recommend to take enough water as they do not provide mineral water bottles in the rooms and although there is a water dispenser at the buffet, filling up of bottles is not allowed. There were many woodapple trees in the garden and under the trees lots of woodapples were seen.

There is nobody responsible from resort available at night. Our room lost power. There was Nobody to even get a flash light. Nobody knew where the breaker is. Manager came in the morning. He also didn't know. They called an electrician and trace it around 11.00 am. We missed our travel plans. Other than that rooms are not bad. They provide only vegetarian food which is not bad. No trained staff for an emergency.

This is basic, but clean accommodation. Very reasonably priced. The chef was fantastic when we stayed we were treated extremely well as we were the only ones here due to the terror attacks. Close to all the attractions of Anuradnapura.

Very good place to stay @ Anuradhapura. Price is very reasonable for what they provide. Food is good, includes dinner, breakfast and morning tea. However, the office staff needs to be more attentive to concerns of the customers.

Nice place with good staf. However the same lethargy and the inefficiency elsewhere in the Government is also here in the hospitality business too.

Food was awful. Not tasty at all. No selection. For morning they “informed “ there will be only Dhal Curry, Tomato Curry, Rice and String Hoppers.

The Anuradhapura National Holiday Resort provides a perfect place to visit sites such as the Thuparama, Lovamahapaya, Isurumuniya, Ruwanweliseya, the Sri Maha Bodhi, the Abayagiri and Jetavana dagobas. It is also within easy walking distance of the railway station.

One of the best places to stay in Anuradhapura. Not very far from the puja nagaraya. Place is well maintained and very tidy. The bathrooms are clean, and also wlvery well maintained. The food is as always phenomenal 😍. Whole vibe of the place is good. Surrounding enviroment is also good. Really enjoyed the stay.

Would have given 5stars if it weren't for the main shower being out of commission. We took a Delux room spacious enough. Friendly staff, clean and hygienic rooms and wash rooms. Meals were really good mostly vegan unless you make a prior request. Buffet Lunch per person with a fried egg (egg was not on the menu) would cost about Rs. 1000 including the service charge. If you are to reserve a Deluxe room you would get buffet dinner and breakfast tea and buffet breakfast for about Rs. 11,500 including all charges. Would visit them once again, definitely.

My stay at the Ceylon Tourist Board Holiday Resort at Anuradhapura was excellent. The resort is very clean and well-maintained, and the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. It's a great place to relax and unwind. Rooms are clean and comfortable. They cater only to vegetarian meals, and the food was delicious! I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable vacation.

Not suitable for a stay ! Animal urinated from the ceiling in the morning. Room No.06 on 14th November 2021. Complained to the person in charge in the morning. But no response from him. In the afternoon when we checked out we told him that we will complain to Colombo. Then only he came and checked.

Budget place to stay when you visit Anuradhapura Near Sri Maha Bodiya and Ruwanwelisaya. We choose this place because of distance. They are renovating. Should not expect luxury things. We stay one day in a AC room. It was good bcz it’s was not a picnic or leisure

Nice and spacious place to stay. Close to all historical sites. Prices are not very high. Foods are acceptable. Not fancy like in hotels. Unlike hotels, you have a lot of freedom. But not very well maintained like most of the government places. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They are renovating the area in September 2023. I hope it will be much better in the future.

Food was nice. Washroom was clean and the staff was nice and helpful. But wish the hotel was better maintained. Curtains were dusty and the mosquito nets had big rips in them (there were mosquitoes in the room). They don't provide tea or coffee packets in the room and no towels but if you ask they bring tea to the room. They could increase the price and maintain it better.

Extremely peaceful surrounding, unbelievable in the heart of Anuradhapura city. Very close to the sacred city. Can improve by providing hot water, some variety to the buffet and connection for the televisions fixed in the rooms.

Came for a day visit to Anuradhapura and was on half board basis. We were not informed about the vegetable buffet at the time of booking nor when we arrived at the premises. Therefore, we did not have any meat items or eggs for dinner. Desserts were not included in the buffet and needed to be ordered prior despite them being only Ice cream and Yoghurt. While the new wing has nice and cozy rooms which are AC, they don't have hot water. Although the staff are nice and friendly, they have very limited resources to provide the guests. Location is extremely convenient and above all peaceful. These places could attract many tourists provided that the services offered overall are improved. Please develop these places to offer guests a pleasant experience! Officials of the Tourism Development Authority, For your Attention Please!

This resort is maintained and run by the Sri Lanka tourist board. It’s located 2-3 km from the Anuradhapura pooja nagaraya. First of all this not a star hotel. I give 5stars because it’s worth the money you spend here. There are A/C and non A/C rooms. Rooms are somewhat old, but they are clean and maintained properly. A Triple room is around Rs. 4000 with buffet dinner and breakfast. Vegetarian buffet only. If you wish to stay in and average place for a decent sum of money with food supplied, this is the place for you. If you are looking for a trendy, cozy place this is not the place for you. Overall staff is pretty friendly. Worth the money you pay. I have the photos of the dining area only.

Convenient and affordable place if you planned to visit historical places around Anuradhapura. We stayed during the Covid-19 season. Even if it was a difficult time, place was well maintained and fairly clean. They provide only a basic room (with a bed) with attached bathroom, Better you bring your own stuff. Also bring some mosquito repellent with you if you have kids. There is no hot water. The food was fairly ok.
