    Pothanegama Junction also known as 2nd Mile post. It does not have that much of Historical value, but is a easy access to the Anuradhapura sacred city for whoever coming from puttalam- anuradhapura or Kurunegala Anuradhapura roads. Those most of the pictures are taken at "wessagiriya"- a sacred place 1km away from this place.

    Pothanegama junction is the first roundabout at Anuradhapura city from where the roads to Padeniya (A28) and putlam (A12) begins.

    Junction connecting Anuradhapura city, Puttlam Road (A12), Kurunegala Road (A28) and the ancient city of Anuradhapura. Long and shot distance buses stopping at this junction. Couple of bakeries and taxi also available.
