Our journey with Houm has been wonderful. We have had two children at this center and we highly recommend it to our friends and family. The staff are kind and professional, Dr Chung is a childbirth expert and Mrs Oh is a master lactation consultant. They have onboard an expert team of midwives and doulas that work closely with you to ensure you have the birth you envision. Through the entire experience you feel like you are being taken care of like family.

I am writing this review after one appointment, a simple women's wellness checkup for someone who is not pregnant and not trying to be. I put visiting the gynecologist in a foreign country up there with eating glass or getting swallowed by a python. I was not looking forward to this visit. However, my experience turned out to be very positive. Firstly, everyone I interacted with in the clinic was incredibly professional and welcoming. The whole staff seemed dedicated to making my experience as pleasant and efficient as possible. Secondly, this clinic offers much more thorough care than what I am used to in the US, and at much better costs too. I saw Dr. Kim for my pap smear and ultrasounds. I found her very approachable, and she patiently answered all of my questions as I inquired about the differences in care between the US and Korea. I have not visited any other clinics in Korea, but I am happy enough with my experience at HOUM that I would definitely return.

The facility is clean and the English speaking staff assistants are very nice however I’m giving this only two stars because 1) the workers are not diligent (for example they didn’t remember to test for two things i had paid for and I had to remind them ) 2) they do not take korean health insurance but rather have set prices (compared to America though the procedures and tests are affordable) 3) the doctor does not show compassion for her patients. She is quite rude and if you have questions she visibly gets irritated and rushes and makes you feel as if your concerns are holding her back from other patients. She said to me during my visit some of the following things β€œI don’t know” with no explanation, β€œI have other patients. It’s saturday and I’m very busy”. She did not make me feel welcome or cared for. I definitely wouldn’t go here to birth a child as i have no confidence they would give me the reassurance or attention I’d need if I had concerns or general questions.

We had an excellent experience at Medi Flower. As American expats living here in Korea we were a bit worried about delivering our first child here at a Korean hospital due to the language barrier and cultural differences we have encountered and heard about from other foriengers who delivered babies in the country. From our first prenatal appointment with Dr. Chung and his team at 30 weeks to our delivery at exactly 40 weeks, we were so impressed with the level of care we received. The staff speaks excellent English and we never had a problem with communication. They were patient, kind, and took the time to call to check up on me after and between appointments. We never felt pressured to have interventions or procedures and I appreciated Dr. Chung's commitment to a natural birth experience. Dr. Chung and Medi Flower's holistic approach to pregnancy, labor and delivery aligned exactly with mine. Everything I wanted in my birth plan was standard practice for Medi Flower which was great! We live 2 hours from Medi Flower which caused us some initial concern but Dr. Chung and his staff assured us that everything would work out and not to worry. They were right and we had no issues getting to Medi Flower for our delivery. We were given their newest birthing suite which was so comfortable, peaceful, and welcoming and included a wonderful birthing tub where we delivered our baby girl. My midwife took such great care of us and helped guide me through labor and a beautiful natural delivery. I highly recommend Doula Sarah as she helped me immensely as well. We stayed 2 nights and were impressed by the personalized care, wonderful night nurses, and great food! The lactation consultant was excellent and made me feel confident about my breastfeeding abilities before we headed home. It was wonderful to be surrounded by such supportive staff and great to have my husband and family able to be in the room with me, something we heard was not common in most Korean hospitals. We also enjoyed being able to have skin to skin time with our baby for hours after delivery and liked that our baby stayed in our room with us the entire time (there is no baby nursery). I highly recommend MediFlower to anyone, especially English Speaking foreigners, who are looking for a natural birthing center that will provide holistic, well rounded, and comprehensive care. From the front desk staff, nurses, doctors, and midwives, we were well taken care of every visit. Medi Flower helped me to have the labor and delivery my husband and I dreamed of having and for that I am greateful.

While in Seoul, I visited Medi Flower and they were by far, the most pleasant hospital/medical experience I had while abroad. The staff was friendly and patient, and spoke excellent English. Mrs. Stella Chang was a great translator and answered all of my questions. The whole process was smooth and simple and the doctor was very knowledgeable and understanding. I definitely recommend this location to anyone who needs an OBGYN while living in Korea.

Gave birth at this clinic twice. Before I learned about MediFlower/Houm I didn't want to give birth in Korea at all. Very glad I found this place. I like everything about it, have nothing to complain about. Everybody is very professional, wide range of services, very flexible birth plan - perfect place for natural birth! Special thanks to: - breastfeeding consultant Mrs.Oh (for solving many breastfeeding problems), midwife Selina doula Kate from my first delivery, - doula Jinny (for magic hands), Debora (for support) and midwife (sorry, don't remember her name) from my second labor. Of course huge thanks to doctor Chung. P.S: love a beautiful painting of a tree made with placenta.

Highly recommended. Most of the staff and nurses speaks English there. They were aware that it will be a one time visit for me but everyone was super friendly and welcoming. If I were to deliver in Korea, will definitely give birth here. Thanks Houm team πŸ₯°

I have loved my journey with MediFlower. From my prenatal care to emergency situations the staff are calm, friendly and supportive. I can't wait to have our little one join us with mediflower in July 2017. I would recommend this place for all your care!

I have experienced here the best care, kindness and patience. Even though I was treated only during my first trimester, I firmly believe that I owe my beautiful daughter to the care of the wonderful doctor and nurses. All my concerns and fears were addressed and acknowledged.

I've been living in korea for a year now and needed a prescription for birth control pills ( my previous one can't be found in korea so I needed to know what could I take we could be similar and else) so I searched for an english speaking gyneco and found this place ~ I got my appointment by phone and just got there today (also you have the choice to ask for a women doctor) they were professional, very kind and friendly ( even saw another foreign woman coming back two time to say something and ask question ans they were really fine with it like "no problem madam ~~~" can't really do that easily in France XD) The doctor was really kind tooand listened to my bad explanation as my english was very broken ( not native+ very tired and still cold from the -11 degree XD) and with that I only got for around 30 dollars I would say ( around 35000 won ) with no korean national insurance ( i'm a student and I don't work) compared to France it's very cheap so ~~~ definitly recommand the place ~~~~ check the website too En Francais maintenant? pour faire plus cours que l'anglais ... je recommande vivement si vous chercher un gyneco parlant anglais a seoul ( en plus vous pouvez demander un rdv avec une femme ou un homme selon preference si voulu )

They staff is professional and helpful especially for English speakers. HOWEVER, they are a clinic and therefore a business looking to make money. Clinics in Korea are known (even by Koreans) for scaring patients into procedures and tests that are not medically necessary and can actually be harmful. The doctor I saw at this clinic told me that I should schedule an invasive biopsy and surgery. When I sent my results back home to the States for a second opinion, they told me that the tests had been administered at the incorrect time in my cycle, so the results were skewed. I went back to Mediflower insisting that they retake my tests for free at the correct time in my cycle (which they did, I'll admit) and the results came back more regular (though not perfect). Now I'm back home, and going through a MUCH less invasive procedure which does not involve biopsy or invasive surgery (which my doctor at Mediflower recommended). I'd like to believe that there was a misunderstanding or mixup , rather than think that they were either hasty in diagnosis or even exploitative. Either way,, I would suggest going to the hospital rather than a GYN clinic, even though it may be more expensive.

I should've listened to the negative reviews. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: -Very friendly staff -Speak good English Cons: -Hidden fee: I emailed them about Nexplanon (they still call it implanon in Korea) removal and reinsertion prices before visiting. When I arrived for my appointment, the prices were the same EXCEPT that there was a "possible" ultrasound fee (not mentioned in the email and I did end up paying). They go over prices before getting called in and I should've taken this hidden fee as a red flag. -Neglected to prescribe antibiotics: I have been busy going back and forth to clinics/dentists since I delayed it during COVID-19 so I forgot to ask them about prescribed medicine when they didn't prescribe it to me. After the male doctor and the assistant performed the procedure which went smoothly, my arm started bruising really bad after a few days (more than usual from the looks of other Korean people's blog post). I could not move my arm and it was painful so even though they told me to come in a week later after my visit, I went early (4 days later) to get it checked. I asked them why they didn't prescribe antibiotics and they made the excuse that it depended on the individual's circumstance (well, not that I know of because any clinic in Korea will always prescribe medicine for some kind of treatment/procedure unless it is dangerous for the patient's health). I got an antibiotic prescription and they took my blood sample to check if there is an infection. I was told to come back in 2 days to check up. I went 2 days later and thankfully, there was no infection but if I didn't go in earlier, who knows what would've happened. They probably would have never said anything if I didn't. I also had to request more antibiotics and it took me an extra 3 weeks before I could start using my arm again. Never be afraid or hesitant to ask questions or requests. Sometimes you might know what's best for you than the doctor. -Lack of communication: When I went back for the second time to get a prescription, the front desk lady said I had to come back a week later but the doctor had said 2 days later. The lady next to her who does cashiering had to correct her that it was 2 days. -Long waiting time: 45min They schedule more people than they can handle. A pregnant lady who looked like she was going to give birth soon waited about 45min until her husband said something. I came a few minutes after them so I also waited about 50 min until I said something. They said their weekdays are less busy so I scheduled my last visit there on a weekday but it was the same waiting time... I think it's helpful that they offer English service for customers but as a business that is gaining financially from foreigners and locals, it's too obvious that they focus more on profit than the customers' best interest. They have very friendly staff but I would never come back here again. If you do, hopefully they will improve their services or else look out for all the cons mentioned above.

The reason why I leave 1 star is because of the bad attention of gynecologist Dr. Su Hee Cho. She was very rude to me when answering my doubts from the first moment about the blood tests that I did there, it included 12 tests and results. But I'll do the exams again somewhere else because I'm not satisfied with the doctor's answers. Also I took the opportunity to ask her about my birth control pills. The pills that I usually took, are not available here in South Korea. Then when I arrived here in Seoul I went to a pharmacy and the pharmacist sold me some with different components that I had previously, I bought them and took them, I have been taking them for two and a half months, which is the time I have been living here. in Seoul. But for more than a month I suffer from a kind of acne on my face that I had never suffered and I do not know if it is caused by these new pills that I sold at the pharmacy. Then I explained this to the doctor and asked her if she could recommend some pills that would be good for me and show her the ones I had previously, as I did the day I went to the pharmacy to prescribe something similar because I know that the component what I drank here does not exist. So her response was, I do not know, if you think they are bad for you, leave them or if you do not continue to take them. I do not know, she said. And if she does not know, well I less! I thought, for something I went to see me with a gynecologist to answer this kind of questions. Then I asked her if she could prescribe other pills or if she could advise me on a similar one that was good for me and her answer was again, I do not know and after I asked her that same question for the third time, she He said, keep taking the same pills. His attitude was bad. The all staff in general was very friendly. But she is not. I think that she only wants to earn the money without answering the patient's doubts. It's the first time in my life that I'm going to see a gynecologist and it does not help me with which contraceptive pills I can take. So could I have had more answers than nothing in the pharmacy? The cost of blood tests and "medical consultation" was 165,000 KRW. Equals about 140 USD.

The International Clinic at Mediflower has been very helpful. Their general approach to birthing is a natural process. Otherwise, their gyno services are comprehensive and they are equipped for medical testing as needed. The staff is kind and helpful. The doctors are thorough (but speedy as usual anywhere), the space is clean and relaxing. Conveniently located close to metro and bus stops, parking also available.
