Awesome sanctuary. A nice and relaxing walk through the bush with plenty of birdlife and nature to see. Well worth a trip, especially for the Kauri suspension bridge and viewing platform.

Nice place for walks to check out the nature. W little underwhelming on the native wildlife side, but it was made up for by the views. Be sure to check out the Kauri Tree House right at the top end of the sanctuary, as well as the Sunset lookout.

Great visitor centre, with lots of information and free WiFi! A good walk through lush bush, fun swing bridge to a giant Kauri and a great look out spot.

This is a hidden gem of a place, we didn't stay here but took the walk up the hill and through the bush where we climbed the Kauri tree. A great experience that costs no more than your time.

A great place to walk around and enjoy the views and be in nature. Take a hike up to sunset rock for some of the best views on GBI, and take a swingbridge over to a large kauri. Free entry but feel free to bring some cash to donate.

Great sanctuary to have a walk through. Though we did not see much bird life when we were there. Heard a lot. Also the Kauri suspension bridge is an experience.

Amazing place which allowed our group to get away from it all while still being able to do our work. The team of Chris and Sarah looked after us so well (thanks for all the fish) and we can't wait to have our next annual planning meeting there. Access by boat or from the airport was good and the team loved the guided walks as well as the awesome snorkelling, swimming and kayaking. Wifi was great and accommodation perfect.

Great trek to the top of sunset point. Chatted to a Gentleman who lived there and he told us some of the history etc. Fantastic views at the top. Had fun hand feeding the ducks.

👍 Easy, nice walk to the hot springs. Springs are natural, not curated and not big. 6 people max in the main area of the stream. Take care-it is a geothermal spring so temperatures are not moderated and can get VERY hot.
