This place is just like coming home to mums house which is everything you need after a day at the beach, sightseeing or even a work trip. You can feel the love that's gone into the place from the quality bed linen, super comfy beds, awesome water pressure, lovely TV's, satelitte WiFi and so much more. You've also got everything at your fingertips with the laundry, convenience store (dairy/bar/off license/eat in or takeaway restaurant/gas station), boat ramp, playground, skate ramp, taxi service, coach tours all a 1-3 minute walk away. You can feed the eels in the creek, watch the beautiful sunsets or head across the road to the beach for easy and free family entertainment. Quite possibly the best place on the island to stay! Highly recommended.

Sunset Waterfront Lodge is an absolute gem on the Great Barrier Island! Open checkin, we were greeted by the owner and offered a bottle of the freshest milk I’ve ever had. The villa is clean, spacious, and boasts a beautiful view. It’s also just a few steps away from Mulberry Grove, a shop that sells groceries, snacks, breakfast, and the best Thai food! The area is serene and peaceful, perfect for a holiday or quick getaway. Thank you Lynley and Leigh!

We stayed in Studio 1.. Our room had a magnificent view of the beach from our bed. Clean rooms, very quiet area. The gas cooking took a little getting used to... but if I can manage it, anyone can. πŸ˜† The kitchen was stocked with every utensil you might need. Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar ,milk, and toiletries, on arrival. Dish liquid, Jiff, spray and wipe, spare loo rolls all provided Laundry at the end of Studios, I think it cost $10. to wash and dry a load. The store/gas station right next door had the yummiest burgers ever. Toilet and shower were a bit of a tight squeeze for us fatties.. Our bedroom/ dining area was HUGE. The proprietors were an awesome, friendly, helpful couple. Loved our 4 days here, and I will definitely stay here again. Parking right outside our room. Thank you for everything, Sunset Lodge. You guys rock!!! πŸ’ 🌞
