    This is the oldest theater in Serbia.The first performance was "Fernando and Yariko" directed by Joakim Vujić ,based on the work of Karl von Eckartshauzen , performed on February 15, 1835, the same day that the first Constitution of the modern Serbian state, better known as the Sretenjski Constitution, was adopted in Kragujevac, then the capital of Serbia.
