👍👍 The sails are torn and worn, multiple patches which lend a great authenticity to this venerable Samoan restaurant. Great location. Beautiful views of the sea, Apia city looking across to Aggie's, and the mountains. Fantastic menu and service just right. Food presented well and tasted so yummy. I don... People often mention great, Great, service, fish, staff, nice, good, restaurant, location, night,

The setting and ambience was great but the food was very slow to arrive, granted the food was great. I had the lamb and it was well prepared. My friend has the fish and we were quite surprised that it came whole, with bones and the head. Of course we've all eaten fish this way at home but you'd think a restaurant would think twice about doing this since the bones present a liability issue. We were given one menu for the 5 of us. Most of us has never been before so it was slow going so I asked for more menus, we were given just one other. Although the waiter was very kind and welcoming, I didn't like the length of time it took for our food to come out. The restroom had a strong urine odor and it was not as clean as I'd like to see, especially at a pricey establishment. Otherwise, the setting by the sea along with a nice view and sea breeze made it a good location.

(Translated by Google) Great food and very friendly staff. Located in a beautiful location just the sea. Sometimes there are live music and dance shows. (Original) God mat och mycket trevlig personal. Ligger på en vacker plats precis vi havet. Ibland finns här levande musik och dansuppvisningar.

Worst experience in Samoa. The one star is for the male wait staff who were lovely. Took a while for our orders to be taken, but not the end of the world. We then waited 2 hours for food and should have walked out like another table (although i didn't agree with the way this man insulted the chef)! We also saw another table who left before us say they only received two meals for three diners. We really should have left at this point too. When the meals came they weren't of a high standard. The butter chicken had small bits of chicken and the sauce was nothing like butter chicken. The 'roti' that accompanied the 'curry' was a flour tortilla!! This butter chicken needs to be taken off the menu. We ended up taking away one butter chicken as my daughter had tasted it and the two fish dishes that had arrived. My partner and I ordered two different fish dishes and while they were edible (ish), they weren't great. The fish was overcooked and overpowered by the taste of dried herbs. With fish less is more. We were really unhappy when we received our food (due to the time we had waited at this point, the way the butter chicken looked and the way our displeasure was dealt with by the woman behind the bar) and left only paying for three out of five meals - the other two butter chicken dishes were sent back. One dish didn't even arrive. The woman behind the bar had a bad attitude toward my elderly mother when she complained. Would not recommend and would not return. Not good enough.

Sails is the best restaurant food that I have experienced since living & working in the Sth Pacific. Well priced, good service, happy friendly staff, & great views. Puts many Melb & Syd restaurants w big reputations & prices to shame. An absolute must if you ever travel to Apia, Samoa.

Sails is one of Apia's restaurant gems. The first-class food, beautiful Samoan hospitality and outstanding service draws you back time and time again. It is the perfect spot to enjoy a sundowner and watch the sun settle over the ocean. A must next time you are in town!

Honestly the worst dining experience I have ever had. The staff were very welcoming but service was slow. It was a quiet Monday evening too and there was only one small table of people when we arrived. We waited over an hour for our food which, when it came out, we wished we had never even bothered. The laksa was lukewarm and was basically just a broth, 3 cherry tomtoes, some noodles and flakes of soggy fish. The taro fries were obviously microwaved and were also cold and dry and the eggplant bruchetta was the saddest, soggiest and also smallest dish I have ever been served. The food was terrible and I wish we never bothered. Upon leaving we did advise the staff and they kindly and graciously took it into their consideration. We walked past the kitchen and realised that there were actually 3 chefs in there but they couldn’t have possibly been doing their job for the hour we were hungry and waiting.. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else - it was a disappointing last meal in Samoa and we ended up filling out bellies at McDonald’s instead

Everytime I've gone to Sails it's like going home to family...the Celebration of life vibe is apparent i mean the food is fantastic, service is great and the million dollar view is breathtaking. Great place to visit if you have never been, and even if you have, and had a not so great experience (as I've read on one review)I urge you to give them a second chance I'm sure you will see the charm in this long established restaurant in Samoa😉👏👏👏👏

Really nice complimentary lemonade. But our burger and club sandwich were slow to arrive. The fish burger was leaking an excessive amount of water and the chicken in the club sandwich was a whole thigh which made it impossible to eat as a sandwich. Also had an upset stomach afterwards. Couldn't help wondering how anybody could cook in a dark dingy kitchen.

Big portion when I ordered a fish. Relatively quiet place with quick and friendly service. Lots of cats hanging out around the table. Nice view of the ocean from the deck.

We had a fantastic experience here. Our first night in Samoa. The staff were all so friendly and gave us some tips on where to go and what to see while we are here. The food was amazing and packed full of flavour. It can seem very windy upon arrival but the way they have the main deck set-up makes it barely noticeable. Will definately visit again soon.

Beautiful outlook at night beside the water with nice lighting on the deck. The staff were very friendly. The menu had a good selection and the meals were very tasty and well presented. Reasonably priced meals and drinks. The only downside was the staff not asking if we wanted any further drinks or dessert.

Two rounds of ordering - non were acceptable! First: Tipsy waiter didnt manage to take the correct order! Then second dish was fried half way the rest was raw. Fish! The food i tasted was completely unsalted because according to the sober waiter they ran out of it... Then they even dared to charge for the missdeliveries! i'd say a truely deserved one ̶m̶̶i̶̶c̶̶h̶̶e̶̶l̶̶i̶̶n̶, sorry google star rating!

Disappointing. The service was slow, food under whelming and not coming as stated on the menu, we weren't given cutlery and had to go looking for it. The ambience was nice and the restaurant is in a nice location, but it's definitely over rated. I wouldn't recommend this place

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! Poke? Gross 🤮 Chicken wings? Ketchup sauce. Shrimp? OLD! No one was there, no one came - now we know why? After hearing good things about this place from days ago - my worst experience ever! Don’t waste your time coming here! Wait staff was lost. No offer to comp our meal just a weak apology. Pictures are of Catch of the day - more like Catch of last year! Fish and chips - oily and the Chicken schnitzel wasn’t ready! While waiting for our taxi - one of group threw up. Stay AWAY!!!

Went to the buffet dinner and the FIA FIA night. Such a great night, amazing food, live band and show, with fun crowd interaction. A lot of spirits were out of stock for cocktails but our server Leah (not sure of that is how its spelt) was amazing and made suggestions. BEST FOOD AND CUSTOMER SERVICE on the island so far! Thanks Leah for making our night out so amazing.

Very poor. Waited 20mins at our table of 4 for any service before getting noticed that we are here - not many tables filled. No drinks menu provided, went up to ask for one only to be told it's usually on the white board - nothing. A group arrived 30mins after us and got their food and drinks before us. Got my order wrong, not happy to have to wait again as it tool quite a while for any food to come out. Other people on our table werent satisfied with the quality - below local takeways. Strongly would not recommend. Never coming back.

Sails isn't bad, but it's not particularly great either, although the ambiance is nice and it's probably worth going for the fire show. The food is well presented and is decent tasting. There were some things wrong with our order, but that may have been a language issue.

Great atmosphere while dining and the view was beautiful. Same issue from last was the shocking number of flies especially when we trying to eat fish in fish and chips along with sashimi. We ended up fanning the flies ourselves. We asked for a fan and we got a menu to use as a fan instead. It's hard enough trying to relax and ended up exercising fanning your own food. No coconuts and no lemon drink. C'mon what kind of island restaurant is this?

I visited at 8pm. Ran out of coconuts and don’t have lobsters as seen in other reviews. Catch of the day (fish) tastes a bit dry. I got bitten by flies. The view is absolutely amazing! Half a minute walk from the restaurant I can see absolute dark in the sea.

There was five of us turning up for lunch on the 4/7/2023. I was there with friends when visited Samoa in 2018 and it was great. This time, it was embarrassing because I raved on about this place and the food, drinks, service was below par. I must admit the waiter tried his best. The food was not of a qualified chef’s. I get better chips from DMC. Food was either overcooked or burnt. I told my lunch party to be kind. I asked the waiter how long they have had their chef, he said four years. ?? most of those years were covid years. Its the same owner. Chinese ambassador Tuilaepa was also there with his bodyguards lol Please improve on all these. The only thing 10 on the day was the location..

compare with other restaurant in the town, for the price I think this one is totally higher. I went there on Monday night, and wasn't too busy. Food serving wasn't fast. I ordered entrée and main dish, but both comes together. The entrée was tasty, but the main course pork belly was too hard to hard and very difficultly to sallow, on the side, there was some mushed potato, but taste like leftover from lunch. But the hospitality service was good and its has a very nice seaside view.

Almost an hour wait for food. The server forgot to ask for one person's order (only four at the table!) and we had to chase her down to add it in. Entrées arrived with mains. We were so pumped about the fresh-made oka; the tuna was fresh but the suavai was thin. The coconut crusted tuna was an amazingly sized tuna steak and had a lovely coconut crumb flavour, nice vege sides too. Pork belly was underwhelming, dry veges and pork just OK. The kids fish & chip meal fish was a bit overcooked. The kids burger was huge and tasty. The banana crumble was so good but ice cream accompaniment let it down (not a good brand). Meals were quite expensive but they were big (neither kid could finish theirs). Touted as a family restaurant but there's nothing to do for the kids. Amazing setting

I shouted lunch for my family and spent 300tala. I was appalled by the quality of food that was served. Out of all the five mains we ordered(tried all the plates) the garlic bread being average was the best tasting thing on our table. Spaghetti Bolognese tastes like bbq sauce meatballs Fish and Chips - fish frozen inside and burnt on the outside. Tatare sauce tasted like it was scooped straight of the mayo jar meaning no added flavours. Indian curry so bland tasteless. Beef Burger was awful fowl taste that didn't match it's description on the menu. Waiters running around touching puppies, then making our drinks without washing hands. Not sure if the real Chef went for a quick break cause I felt a 4 year old could have cooked far better than this person. So sad this happened to us . We had to go home and cook food to eat for dinner. Wish the owner was there so I could complain. Anyway first and last time there.

Well, overrated!!! Good location which is 1 star: ordered satay beef, came out 1 slice of 2x2 size of beef on a stick 😤 cooking takes hilariously 45 min (this is like 8 customer and not even busy time) over priced!!!!! Just dont bother try to look for other locations with a view: btw not to mention a pinacolada which is half the glass is the forth! 😤😤😤😤
