What a pleasant surprise you're in for if you dine at Paddles! This chic restaurant is like a little black dress - it's classy and can easily be upscale and fancy or casual, yet always elegant. Our food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the warmth and hospitality of the family who owns and operates the business are like the proverbial cherries on top of the sundae. Speaking of desserts, if you're anything like me and like caramel, be sure to save room for dessert! Taking pride and passion in culinary arts, another family member operates a cute little coffee shop located just a few blocks away. Words cannot express how much I’d appreciate the beautiful experience I’ve had here at Paddles. This is a place where you know food and care are the love language and the bestest Giovanni here wouldn’t have treated you with anything but love. We booked a “fancy dinner “ at a local resort and were disappointed by the menu, so we decided to drive to Paddles through the rain, with the trust that we had the best food there 2 days ago. Knowing it’s my birthday without any preparation, the bestest Giovanni quickly arranged flowers and PINK PLATES for us. I was in tears how I was cared for and I will truly visit Samoa again just for this. Grazie Giovanni. Se il migliore.

The best dining experience we have had in Samoa. Wonderful food, even better people. The lovely host Giovanni saw me try and take a photo of the sunset, asked for my phone and walked outside, across the road and snapped the last photo, after he had come over to ask me to ‘please leave the babies mess on the floor and just enjoy my dinner’. After a long week of being a mum, your kindness will be remembered . Can’t recommend this place enough. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Loved this place, a family run restaurant from an Italian father and Samoan mother... the blend comes through in the food with Italian flare to some local produce. Highly recommended. Booking is important, we did get in without but it was busy so another night may not have worked out. By local standards, not cheap. But excellent value in my view.

We'd give this place 10 stars if we could!! The service was impeccable (we went twice, and would have gone a 3rd time if open on a Sunday night!). The food absolutely divine. The attentive team made my belated birthday one of my most memorable. And we loved Mia the CEO Cat. A dining experience, with a beautiful vista across Apia Harbour, not to be missed. Amazing experience from when you step in. Walked in without a booking, accommodated us 3. Great views of the marina, amazing italian cross samoan atmosphere, best service from Giovanni and papa mama rossi. We got the eggplant and calamari for entree, both fried to perfection. Handmade lasagne by papa rossi, most delicious mahimahi fish stew, and carbonara. Will return to Samoa just for the experience again. And oh the cat! ❤️

Definitely a MUST while in Apia! The sunset views of the bay, harbor and the Immaculate Conception Cathedral are stunning. The food and the service were fantastic.

Took new and old friends to Paddles tonight and made a bold statement "I've never had bad a meal here, everything is stunning" then noticed we had been given a new menu - damn! I'm delighted to say I was not wrong, everything that came over the pass was outstanding, our guests were so impressed. The wait staff were just as amazing as always, the legendary Papa Rossi personally greeted everyone in the restaurant table by table dispite being fully booked and very busy running front of house. Paddles is full of exceptional people doing extraordinary things with beautiful ingredients to create the best dinning experience in Apia. Reservations essential!

The service and food was great. The owner went above to make sure we had a wonderful view and dining experience. Nice large servings too! My only regret is that I didn’t have room for dessert. Definitely recommend.

There is no better restaurant in Samoa, than Paddles. I cannot fault it. We didn’t have a booking, but they were gracious enough to take us in anyway. Their service is incredible - Paddles have the friendliest, most courteous staff we’ve ever come across - we dined here with my young children on our last night in Samoa (6, 5 and 1yr olds) - before I could even ask, a high chair was brought to the table & then colouring pens and papers for my older children (heavenly distraction for this Mama). But the food... wow!!! Hubby and I are foodies, and have dined in the lowliest (but super delicious) of places, right through to places with $300AUD steak & lobsters.. I can easily say Paddles rightfully sits at #1 of the best meal we’ve ever had. Their Masi Masi dish is perfection - with every mouthful, I could taste the thought, pride and love that was put into creating it. But the oka? An absolute masterpiece. Hands down, the best oka we’ve ever had. I had to stomp on my husband’s foot because he wanted to go out to the kitchen and ask for the recipe. My children thoroughly enjoyed their chicken carbonara. Just beautiful, honest food and people! Thank you for your hospitality and your first class meals. We will definately be back for more!!

Had a wonderful family dinner here tonite. Food, service & atmosphere was excellent. We had a party of 13 & everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Our server & host constantly checked on us & would definitely reccomend. Faafetai tele lava !

Incredible find. Service and food on par with London. Our waiter was attentive at all times, he would always scan around his table when he would be serving others (not the usual look down situation). The main was lovely we had the seafood pasta in white wine sauce with garlic bread and calamari for sides. Unfortunately desserts are bought externally and you can tell as we had the salted caramel chocolate cake, neither flavours came through. All in all the best meal experience we’ve had in Samoa (joint first with Coconuts)

Paddles was an absolute highlight of our eating experiences here in Samoa! Giovanni was an exceptional host and his staff were first class. Both my husband and I enjoyed our dinners immensely, and they were full of authentic Italian ingredients and flavours. We were given a table with a sunset view that did not disappoint. And Mila the ‘CEO’ (aka cute and cuddly resident cat who adopted Giovanni during lockdown) topped off the fabulous experience. Highly recommend!

We had an absolutely gorgeous night - which with our toddler these days doesn’t happen often… We were made to feel so at home, the service was outstanding and food incredible, it was clear all the other customers were having just as good a time as we were! This is without doubt one of the best restaurants in Apia. Italian style, the food and wine were delicious. From when Giovanni greeted us effusively and showed us to our table to the time we finally had to leave, we were attended to quietly and efficiently throughout the whole meal and enjoyed every moment. They even made us an excellent Espresso Martini, despite it not being on the menu and having no espresso machine available. Thank you for making it a memorable evening. Thoroughly recommend this place

Great place for dinner! Definitely recommend to book in advance, especially on Friday/Saturday as it can get busy. Food is fresh and very tasty - we had calamari, carbonara, Bella napoli pasta. Service is also fantastic and very hospitable. The local cat was the best host. Thanks for having us!

From the time we entered the premises to the moment we stepped out, the staff were amazing. Handshakes to greet us and the personal touch of asking our names and remembering them for the entire night. The bar staff were friendly and well trained. Our waiter was an absolute gentleman. Then came the food. The OKA is dangerously good. (We asked for a side of fresh chilli and we were not disappointed. Our mains were beautifully cooked and the drinks were kept topped up. A wonderful night out with great food and wine.

Staff are extremely friendly and helpful throughout. The owner took a real interest in our meal being enjoyable. The food was lovely and not too expensive, I had the fish and prawns risotto was delicious. I would definitely recommend.

How do I describe paddles well : tonight I had the Pork Belly for my birthday. Boys to Men was playing and it was a great companion to mouth sensation that followed. I would the chef made love to my taste buds but it would do a disservice to how amazing my dinner was. Love this place.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Paddles Restaurant. All our dishes tasted great (we ordered the oka, seafood pasta and baked fish), used fresh ingredients and had generous portions. The staff were very attentive and thoughtful (they even split and presented the oka on two plates to make it easier for us when they found out we were sharing) and it was great to see the owner out and about, greeting/ checking up on the guests. Would happily return if we ever get the chance. Booking is recommended as they tend to be quite busy.

Service and atmosphere was excellent. Oka still is the best. May be hard to find a parking but still you would walk from anywhere to eat in a place like this.

Amazing experience at this restaurant! So welcoming and friendly. The staff are so so incredible, the food is to die for, the drinks are fun and delicious. I couldn’t recommend Paddles enough. Giovanni is the host with most definitely the most 😉 We went for our 25th wedding anniversary and I didn’t want to leave.

The best Italian Restaurant in the country in my opinion. Don't miss the Calamari Starter and the Seafood Risotto. They have kids meal for Wst 25. They give kids colouring book to keep them busy. Boss and staff are very friendly. The entrance of the restaurant did say "Booking Essential" but they do take walk in. The place could get busy though so call them and book ahead. Does take Credit Card with no surcharge but staff will ask if yiu are happy to leave a tip. Overall great restaurant. See my photos below for the menu.
