I came to learn about the history of Samoa since I know very little to nothing. The museum provides a decent insight in the last 130 years. Would have liked to learn more about the time before colonialism. The visit was well worth it, very informative. Hope the museum will keep up the good work and expand its coverage on the history of this beautiful country and its lovely people.

Small museum, not much there. The lower levels has items from Samoan life and culture while the upper level focuses mainly on the period when Samoa was an NZ colony and how independence was gained. A quick glimpse into Samoa's past.

This museum is free, but feel free to leave a donation at the front. Great place for people to get to know the history of Samoa. Many artifacts to look at. It’s a great way for tourists to learn about the background of the country they are travelling in.

Really enjoyed learning about 19th and 20th century Samoa, particularly the changing relationship with NZ. Facilities are basic, entrance is free.

Walked from our Hotel especially to go thru the Museum and it was closed. No signage outside saying why it was closed..... very disappointing.

Excellent selection of resources from the colonial era. Would have loved to see some more about Sāmoa before European colonisation

The museum is in the process of being moved to this new site. A sign on the front door says it is closed until further notice but I was still able to visit. The guest book showed several others had visited today as well. There are two rooms open with a variety of signs and artefacts. It's worth a look if you are in the area as they have items that are thousands of years old!

Came on Friday 3pm and the Museum is closed, the museum office is empty with the air air conditioning running. Give me back my time walking under the sun for 45mins!

The history is very interesting, but not all exhibits were open and some extra funding would be good to give the place the position that it deserves.

Informative history of colonisation of Samoan people and their fight for independence. Extremely moving to witness some of what the people have endured. It would also be interesting to hear about the effects of all the different religions on Samoan culture. The young woman who greeted us could not have been more helpful or welcoming. We were surprised that this museum did not seem to be well publicised. It truly is worth visiting. Thank you.

Not much to see... but it's free! Didn't see a single staff member while I was there.

Huge building with very very small exhibits. Not sure what has happened here. Foreign money. Perhaps the old museum was better or this is still waiting to be developed. No information seemed to be available. A bit sad.
