Amazing cave pool for swimming and snorkelling, fresh water crystal clean. A bit cooler than sea water, but it is perfect to chill out in hot summer time.

Beautiful fresh water cave pool. Spotted a few eels, worth the drive. Water is nice and cool. A dozen of outdoor fales (Samoan open houses) you can use. It’s costs 10Tala per person. Free parking but I find it’s a little distant. Pay an extra 10 Tala so you can get a parking right near the cavepool is more preferable. Toilets and showers are available there. They also have open covered public places with tables and seats so families can bring there food and eat together. I enjoyed my time here.

Really clear and fresh water pool, deep enough you can swim but can still touch the bottom in places. There are a few fish in there too. Plenty of shade and facilities too so a good place to spend the afternoon and go for a swim.

Not that exciting. Maybe nice natural pool with little cave for families with kids but otherwise as impressive as any other (free) coastal area in the island

Amazing. Like the rest of the country, it is low key and laid back. Top tip: use a snorkel to see the fish! A waterproof light would not go astray in the back of the cave. Definitely go into the cave and look back to the entrance to see the electric blue water.

Beautiful picnic areas overlooking gorgeous views of the beach. Ample of parking area & resting fales, $5 entrance (ST) …$2.50 Aust. Lovely day out although it was quite crowded and we arrived before midday.

It's never look the same as the website photos and please expect to meet up heaps locals there. Swimming is good there as you can see lots of fish in the pool. Please be aware that if you don't look like a Samoan, you will be charged $5 per head entry fee.

This place is amazing and kids friendly, went there and we had an awesome time.Loved where this cave pool is located in the middle of this samoan community where you see the locals, there is a place for fish and chips it was handy at the time because we didn't bring any snacks.Keep your eyes open at the pool because you might see those wonderful fish sweaming near your feet, again it's a most see place.

Beautiful place, if you go at the right time it's not very busy and you can enjoy swimming in the cave pool uninterrupted. Absolutely gorgeous! Note, you have to pay per car upon entry.

A great place to swim, even bring your snorkel. Swimming within a cake is a special moment and also beautiful. The fresh water is a nice change.

Fantastic, beautiful refreshingly cool clear water, lots of shade, and lots of fish, plus a big eel that minds his own business. Well worth the 5 tala entry fee. Terrific variety of fish you can get close to

Beautiful 😍 we took or snorkeling gear and the kids loved it! We didn’t swim thru as the locals told us it can be dangerous for young children - our kids are 8 and 14. But absolutely stunning!

Enjoyable time spent with family at pPiula. . Has changed since last there.(2005). More sheltered with trees and fales. Coffee was refreshing after dip. Recommend.

One of my favorite places in Samoa to spend a hot day reading a book in a fale or going for a swim.

  • 5/5 Yeri T. 5 years ago on Google
Quiet tint cave with a small pond attached with fishes. Water can be cold but very relaxing.

  • 5/5 Ramesh P. 10 months ago on Google
Great fresh water pool, very refreshing. One can swim deep into the cave but it gets dark very quickly. Water drips from the cave walls and its not crowded during the morning part. Picnic areas and toilets available.

We’ve come many times over the years and we’re pleased to see that there’s many new improvements which include numerous fales, a deck with chairs and another bathroom. The only thing to fault is the condition of the main toilets but in saying that was impressed that there was soap and toilet paper.

    Great adventure to swim through

  • 5/5 Hayley O. 8 months ago on Google
Beautiful day spent at the cave pools. Well worth the drive from the Port of Apia… As long as you’re not afraid of an eel, then you’ll love it! Haha

  • 3/5 N E. 8 months ago on Google
Very busy spot, nice place to spend some time. The water is colder than a lot on the island - probably because it's freshwater. Few eels which was a bit scary. 20T entrance fee is a bit much for what you get but the grounds are well maintained.

Beautiful. We went as a tour through Le Vasa Resort. The cave does go somewhere, however that was originally where they washed and was for a specific set of their community so i wont say where that is:) THERE WAS A COOL EEL and all of us were watching it! As long as you give a cheery 'Talofa!' you can settle in anywhere in Samoa. They can also do mean manu's.

Great little pool for a very nice swim. The Cave is cool but we were too chicken to go in too far. Their are signs saying not to go too deep but our guide did mention you still can if you are brave enough. The pool was a good size and was a little bit colder than the ocean. You can see plenty of fish. You can also enjoy the view from one of the many fale's by the pool. Please note as it is on the grounds of theological school it is closed on Sunday and alcohol is prohibited. You pay to enter the site to a local waiting in the drive way.

Such a nice place to cool off with friends and family. You will literally be swimming with the fishes. Make sure you bring a nice packed lunch and extra change of clothes as you may decide to swim more than once. As of January 2020 it cost 5 tala per person.

  • 5/5 Alonso A. 4 years ago on Google

You are not allowed to enter the sea from this site as it is protected area. Puila pool is crystal clear and I cant forget forever. Facilities like fale and bathrooms are well maintained.

A must do while in Samoa, beautiful setting with cool fresh water that is crystal clear. Complete with fish, so like swimming in a fish tank! For the adventurous there is a small swim through at the end of the cave into the next cave. A mask and touch is recommended. $5 tala a head and there’s a small local take away at the site. Small walk from the car or pay an extra $10 tala to drive the car down to the pool, heaps of fale’s so you could take a packed lunch and stay a while. Right on the sea wall also with nice outlook.

  • 3/5 Rebecca L. 4 years ago on Google
Came here because of the good reviews, but it’s nothing but a pool of water. Like many other spots again in Samoa, you had to pay. The view of the ocean was nice, but there weren’t a lot of fish to see inside the pool. We met some locals who said there used to be a hole inside the cave to swim to the other side, but it doesn’t seem to exist anymore.

I always choose to take my foreign guests to Piula because its so close to Apia & affordable. Cave & water is beautiful. Also fale & facilities are nice. Best to go early in the morning as it can get quite crowded at times

Great place to visit for a Cool Swim on a hot day. Be mindful it is in a Theological College, so be respectful to the locals.
