Well,
where
do
I
start?
Even
before
we
arrived
there
were
problems.
I
booked
two
rooms
for
our
group
of
three
people
via
Expedia
at
this
place
months
in
advance.
A
few
days
before
we
were
due
to
depart
I
started
receiving
messages
from
someone
at
the
hotel
who
seemed
to
think
I
had
booked
two
rooms
in
error
and
couldn't
comprehend
that
I
required
two
rooms:
one
for
my
wife
and
I
and
one
for
our
adult
son.
It
took
many
messages
and
several
phone
calls
to
convince
them
my
booking
for
two
rooms
was
correct.
When
we
finally
arrived,
the
real
disappointment
set
in.
Our
"deluxe
rooms"
are
advertised
as
follows:
"Enjoy
the
sea
breeze
from
your
own
private
balcony".
Our
ground
floor
"deluxe
room",
which
turned
out
to
be
about
the
size
of
a
prison
cell,
faced
the
PPS
bulk
fuel
storage
tanks
at
the
rear
of
the
hotel.
The
"private
balcony"
consisted
of
an
open
court
yard
with
a
mouldy
table
and
a
couple
of
mouldy
plastic
chairs
that
was
anything
but
private
(one
evening
we
heard
voices
coming
from
our
"balcony"
and
found
two
staff
members
sitting
there
having
a
smoke!).
I
asked
reception
why
our
"deluxe
room"
had
no
balcony
with
no
seabreeze.
The
response
I
received
was,
"You
do
have
a
balcony
and
we
apologise
if
you
don't
like
it".
Our
son's
deluxe
room
was
located
on
the
first
floor
at
the
front
of
the
hotel.
It
was
literally
four
times
the
size
of
our
ground
floor
room
and
was
surrounded
by
a
huge
balcony.
This
balcony,
however,
was
not
private
and
could
be
accessed
by
anyone
at
all
times,
day
or
night.
More
about
this
room
later...
Our
room
had
dirty
walls
that
looked
like
they
hadn't
been
cleaned
for
years,
a
TV
that
didn't
work
as
the
antenna
had
been
unplugged,
a
large
desk
with
no
chair,
a
small
bar
fridge
that
you
had
to
unplug
if
you
wanted
to
boil
the
jug,
an
uncomfortable
double
bed
with
no
bed
side
lamps
and
a
tiny
single
bed
that
we
had
to
use
to
store
our
luggage
on
as
there
was
no
room
anywhere
else
in
the
room.
As
for
the
bathroom,
the
shower
had
no
drain
cover,
the
soap
holder
in
the
shower
was
broken
(soap
wasn't
even
provided
in
any
case)
and
there
was
no
cabinet
or
bench
where
you
could
place
toiletries.
After
one
night
we
had
to
invest
in
a
can
of
insect
spray
to
combat
the
cockroaches.
Housekeeping
was
basically
non-existent.
For
the
entire
week
we
were
there,
towels
were
not
changed
once,
tea
and
coffee
was
not
replenished
and
used
cups
were
not
replaced.
In
fact,
all
housekeeping
did
was
empty
the
bin
(the
bin
in
our
room
was
in
fact
a
bucket)
providing
you
left
it
outside
the
door
each
morning.
Most
nights
we
had
trouble
sleeping
with
children
yelling
and
playing
in
the
next
room
and
running
down
the
hall
at
all
hours
and
other
guests
drinking
and
singing
in
the
common
area
near
our
room
until
2:00am.
The
staff
never
seemed
to
care.
On
the
subject
of
sleep,
our
son
didn't
get
much
of
that
either.
While
he
had
a
nice
big
room
compared
to
ours,
it
was
situated
directly
above
the
bar.
The
walls
and
floor
of
his
room
literally
shook
when
music
was
playing
at
the
bar
and
it
wasn't
uncommon
for
people
to
continue
partying
and
drinking
beneath
his
room
and
on
the
balcony
surrounding
his
room
well
after
the
bar
closed.
Staff
were
generally
incompetent,
lazy
and
disinterested.
One
particular
member
of
the
bar
staff
had
a
constant
scowl
on
her
face
and
had
a
habit
of
disappearing
when
she
saw
someone
walking
towards
the
bar.
At
times
it
was
hard
to
work
out
who
the
staff
actually
were.
There
always
seemed
to
be
youths
hanging
around
reception
helping
out
with
things
here
and
there
who,
in
hindsight,
may
have
been
family
members
of
some
of
the
workers.
As
for
food,
we
didn't
have
lunch
or
dinner
at
the
"restaurant",
but
did
try
the
complimentary
breakfast
once.
This
consisted
of
toast,
rockmelon
and
porridge
(a
strange
option
in
100%
humidity).
All
other
mornings
we
ended
up
walking
down
the
road
and
buying
a
nice
breakfast
at
another
hotel.
It
got
to
the
point
where
we'd
leave
Millenia
as
early
as
we
could
each
day
and
returned
as
late
as
we
could.
Only
that
made
our
stay
bearable.
