Nice ambience, alert staff, & great food

Leckeres Essen trifft auf eine urchige Atmosphäre. Wir bekamen spontan einen Tisch obwohl das Restaurant gut besucht war. Am Ende waren wir zufrieden und satt 😊👍🙏 Preise gehen in Ordnung, angenehm ist auch die übersichtliche Speisekarte. Die Älplerrösti mit Käse und Spiegelei ist sehr empfehlenswert!

We had cold drinks, which were okay. Serve was quite prompt. Like all Swiss places expect to pay more than you do at home. Toilets not wheelchair accessible. Cobbled streets and plenty of parking.

Nice restaurant with polite staff and average choice of meals. The meals are very tasty and portions are medium to big in size (we had two Appenzell specialities - a sausage with potato salad and rösti with fried egg - you will not leave this place hungry, for sure). It was summer, so the garden was open. We sat there, and several big trees provide excellent shade and great escape from midday sun. Although the place is quite touristy, I would recommend it :).

The cheese rösti and macaroni were a little too salty for our taste. However, it was nice and cozy eating in the shade of the trees.

Sehr leckeres Essen in angemessen Portionen.

Mitten in Appenzell am Landsgemeindeplatz. Natürlich dadurch super gelegen. Bei schönem Wetter hat er hier draussen ein grosser Aussenbereich unter den Bäumen. Das Mittagsmenue war sehr lecker und auch schnell geliefert. Besonders das Dessert könnte ich hier hervorheben. Freundliche und speditives Personal. Komme gerne wieder.

Decent food. I mean it's swiss food nothing special . Founde is not worth it. But the vibe and service were great.

Super tasty food and the portion size is good too (even if you are very hungry). I highly recommend their foundue and the Mac an cheese with appenzeller cheese and apple sauce. Their outdoor space is very nice, with trees and a good shadow (good for sunny days).

Great place to dine in, although alittle expensive, but food is great, environment is ok. We ordered the rosti which is delicious and the macgronen (mac&cheese) which can be alittle surfeiting, but the Apple sauce goes surprisingly well with it!

Good location and nice outside seating garden. However, the food was mediocre. Certainly not the best schnitzel..

Very nice place in center and very good food!!! We had chicken breast and salats. And oh boy...they were like 5 different salats!!! Very big portions. Very tasty! Bier was also cold and good! Desert were on the spot! It was really busy and we have waited like 39 min for the desert menu but we played cards in the time so we were not unhappy.3 adults and 2 kildren main course and drinks and desert little over 200 E.
