The room is clean and nice, well renovated with comfortable bed. The problem is the FAKE advertising on booking. We paid 280fr. for a view from the window and a bathtub. When we arrived they asked how long time we are gonna stay and as soon as we said one night, we got a room with "a view" which is someone else's windows and no bathtub at all. No refund for a totally downgraded room! And they said they opened 3 hotels in the town, how!

Very good and clean hotel. My room had a strange odour, I notified this and immediately got another one, which was even an upgrade. Tasty breakfast, the hallways in the hotel are nicely decorated, staff is helpful. The location is excellent, in front of St. Mauritius church. I would recommend this hotel.

As in the past Hecht is a trusted address for a splendid accommodation in picturesque Appenzell.

Stayed here during our Swiss vacation. Lovely and spacious hotel with a great breakfast. The people who work at this hotel are very friendly and helpful. Parking is nearby and free (which is a rarity in Switzerland). The hotel is centrally located in Appenzell and all the major sights are within walking distance. The only issue is that the Internet connection is not very reliable. Other than that, our stay was thoroughly enjoyable.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Hecht. We came to hike Eben Alp located in Wasserauen. The hotel is with in walking distance of the train but far enough that it is very quiet. The staff is very attentive and the hotel itself is a cozy boutique, very unique! They have board games and books for rainy days which we were very fortunate to not encounter. The rooms are quite large and the beds are comfortable. It felt a bit like coming home when we arrived. I would recommend the hotel to anyone: single travelers, couples or families. Thank you so much for making our Anniversary trip so comfortable, Hotel Hecht!!

Small family run hotel with modest rooms. The amenities are liquid soap/shampoo, a bed with one pillow, 200 thread count sheets in a comforter bed sack. NO air conditioning. Noisy hourly church bell across the street. No coffee machine or tea pot, no fridge. More like a motel 6. Staff is pleasant enough with decent buffet breakfast.

Nice rooms. Very comfortable. No A/C or fan in rooms. Cute little town but not much to do except shop.

["This was an older, small, charming hotel. It was no fuss. Nothing fancy, but totally adequate.\n\nThere were fake flowers in the room \u2014 I\u2019d rather nothing.\n\nThere was a cute little rubber ducky and very new and clean bathrooms. No bath.\n\nThe view was nothing special, but the location was prime.\n\nSimple. Honest. Approachable.",null,[0,94]]

Nice hotel in the old part of the town. Breakfast was with a decent buffet. The front desk was not always staffed to answer questions. The junior suite was very large and comfortable. Unfortunately, the main light switch didn't work, so you had to walk in the dark across the room every time. Also, the hotel is directly across from a clock tower that rings all night... you get used to it!
