Very nice personal. Food is very good and dish size is appropriate for the prize. Guests range from families over tourists to whole clubs. I definitely can recommend the restaurant. The restaurant is situated near the town square (Landsgemeindeplatz). Easy reachable by foot from the train station (about 5 minutes). From there the town center is about 1 minute away.

We eat dinner here and the location is very nice and the food was excellent.

Booked a room for a few days here and I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and how friendly the staff was. What made our stay even better were the list of local deals the hotel provides, 2 free cable car rides, free public transportation, and we even got to check out the Appenzell museum for free - this was super cool! On top of this, breakfast was included and was delicious. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant for a couple of nights and it was pretty good too. We really enjoyed our stay here, would gladly come back again and would definitely recommend.

Went here for some fondue and came out very disappointed. We ordered one portion of the herb Appenzeller fondue, which we enjoyed and one portion of the mushroom fondue which we did not enjoy. I also ordered a aperol spritz, however they had used a flat bottle of soda and it tasted terrible. They remade it with a fresh bottle. However I believe they may have forgotten to include the prosecco in the mix because it still tasted terrible.

Haben im Restaurant das Wiener Schnitzel für 37 Franken gegessen. Es war sehr enttäuschend. Portion war gleich groß wie die "Kleine Portion" mit Gemüse aus der Tiefkühltruhe und einer Scheibe Zitrone die man nichtmal ausdrücken kann. Dazu nur 5 Kroketten. Keinem zu empfehlen. Die Bedienung war dennoch sehr nett.

Sehr nette und freundliche Gastgeber :) Essen war lecker und reichhaltig. Wir hatten einen Tisch um Garten und konnten den Abend in der Sonne ausklingen lassen. 🙂 gerne wieder

Dieses Gasthaus strahlt eine sehr angenehme Gemütlichkeit aus. Das Essen ist sehr, sehr gut und der Service spitze. Die Zimmer sind sehr gemütlich uns sauber. Die Ortschaft Appenzell ist Traumhaft. Alles in allem, es ist Zauberhaft hier.

Quite nice authentic Appenzel hotel

Beautiful little town, Very nice hotel in the Heart of Appenzell, clean rooms and a bit tiny, prices are high, but we stayed in busy season- June. Super Nice and helpful Owners I can highly recommend the hotel and the restaurant.

Great food, but maybe only eat here if you are really hungry.

Tasty meals (and CHEESE) near the main visitors lot in beautiful Appenzell. It's all good, so don't hold back.

Had a family get together here. The food was delicious and fast service. Very friendly staff. Prices are reasonable for the area.

Clean, kind, and helpful. Breakfast included. In the middle of town. Would go back there anytime.
