One of my favorite in St Paul.Their expresso affogoto is a must try I love it.They have variety of flavors to choose from. It’s also conveniently located beside Nook so I usually come here for dessert after dinner. The staff are very friendly and you can ask for recommendations they are also very patient incase you are new to this place.

Cold Front is the first place I think of when I want an ice cream treat. My favorite is the Affogato, a combination of espresso and ice cream. It's crafted with locally roasted beans from Backstory, in St. Paul. The best combo I have discovered is the Burnt Brown Sugar ice cream with espresso, but classic vanilla is also excellent. Parking is easily available along the side streets. There are a few outdoor tables during warmer months of the year.

If you want some local ice cream, Cold Front is the place to go! They have flavors that rotate seasonally. There’s seating inside and outside. Street parking only, but there’s plenty of spots.

One of my favorite places in the WORLD, let alone St. Paul! It's not just the drinks that are warm, or the ice cream that's cool. This little shop has an abundance of care and joy that make it a great place to visit. THE BEST cappuccinos for years on end. Get here pronto!

I stumbled on Cold Front at just the right moment, and it was the vacation coffee I needed! The coffee was excellent, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff were kind and helpful! I will definitely make my way back the next time I visit the twin cities!! Highly recommend!

Even during winter Cold Front is a must stop! We got the warm brownie sundae and it was fantastic. The vanilla ice cream was really good along with the nice chewy brownie in the bottom. Topped with Carmel sauce, waffle cone pieces and whipped cream, it was just the finishing touch to make it an amazing treat.

this is a great little neighborhood shop that happens to be walking distance from me. the ice cream pies might just qualify as the best thing ever. you can get an affogato with any flavor. being right next door to a legendary dive diner doesn't hurt either. only point of criticism i could offer is that the brand of ice cream they use is very sugary for my taste. but cut it with a shot of espresso & bob's your uncle. (please bring back "burnt butterscotch" -- my all-time fave!)

We really like this place. Decent ice cream, great value, great atmosphere. Frankly I'm surprised how not busy they've been the two times we've been in. It's a nice retro themed ice cream joint.

I absolutely love Cold Front. Their ice cream is just unparalelled. We typically visit after our traditional lunch at the Nook right next door with my husband and father in law, but we’ve brought friends and family here over the years and it’s never a miss. Their seasonal ice creams are always in point, today i had “witches brew” and it was delightful. My father in law always orders a shake and they customize it for him just the way he likes it, service is always friendly. I have always raved about this place and will continue raving about it. Best ice cream in the US!!! 😋😍

Best ice cream store in the entire St. Paul area. While there's a competing ice cream store less than a mile away, that one serves grocery store ice cream and obscene amounts. The ice cream that you get a Cold Front is from the University of Wisconsin Madison's dairy barn and amazing. They have incredible flavors and generous servings for a single cone. Definitely worth supporting this local small business. While I've never joined Cold Front's $40 a month coffee club, they seem to make amazing fancy espresso drinks too. You're missing out if you stop by the Nook and don't come here for dessert.

Chocolate Factory Ice Cream! Ridiculously high milk fat content, meaning incredibly smooth ice cream. You’ll always find a friendly face behind the counter ready to dish up amazing ice cream, whether it’s 100 degrees or -30 degrees outside. Got to love that Minnesotans eat ice cream even on the coldest days!

The ice cream was great but the staff seemed absolutely miserable to be there. Waited 20 minutes in line when it should have been 5 max. No apology and no thank you once it was our turn. They should hire people who actually want to be there.

Layout/atmosphere *Ice cream/coffee shop with old fashioned touches; tables for dine in; counter area Service *Good; able to try a teaspoon sample of flavors Food/drink *Superman (cherry, blue moon & vanilla ice cream) - good but little too sweet for me *This $&@! Got Serious (salted caramel ice cream, sea salt fudge & salted cashews) - Good

The ice cream was fantastic! Customer service was 10 out of 10. Glad the owner was finally able to fix the A/C and we were able to relax inside

It was our second time coming and both times have been nothing but enjoyable. First time was last summer and I can still remember how good the ice cream was. This most recent stop I got a double scoop of the coconut almond and blueberry cheesecake… what an incredible mixture. Great service, location, and most importantly, ice cream!
