Not stayed here for 20 plus years, so commenting on food only. I am lucky enough to live locally now. I love this place. Service is swift. Choice is good. Children's menu is good too. Superb location. Must have visited for a meal 50 plus times. Never disappointed.

Lovely building. Lovely view. Food was great and all the staff were nice and welcoming... However, our room (room 4) had an odd smell, was extremely hot, and the extractor fans for the kitchen were right outside the bathroom window and were VERY loud and ran from very early in the morning until very late at night. I'd be happy to stay there again but would ensure my room was not above the kitchen! Lovely place but don't stay in room 4!

Holiday with family and dog. Both our rooms were excellent, really relaxed approach at hotel with excellent service. Free sausage for the dog every morning. Great location for ferry and walks around Lake Derwent, view over to Catbells.

An excellent find! Been past so many years times I can't count and just never realised what was there. Thoroughly recommend the place for food, refreshment, location and views. As I didn't Overnight there I can't make comment on that side of things but if standards are likewise with the rest of the place I'm sure I wouldn't be disappointed. I'll definitely go back.

Very good hotel surrounded by amazing nature! Very nice and helpful owner and staff, delicious dinner (three times in series i was ordering the hake-filet). Very cozy restaurant with huge windows facing the beatiful scenery outside. One evening we were sitting outside in the pavillion, having the hake-dish. This was the best evening of our two weeks in england. We booked the deluxe double room, it was so amazing! Next time we are in england, we will be back for sure! Thank you for the good time we spent at derwent water.

My third stay at 'Mary Mount' and it never disappoints. Superb outside seating area, of which I particularly like the wooden gazebos, great for afternoon tea. Lovely clean rooms, great food and attentive staff, nothing seems too much trouble. Fabulous.

A lovely hotel in great location. Was given a small double room which was nice and clean, beautiful views. Fair breakfast selection included which was nicely cooked. An excellent base for many hikes around the Ullswater area. Town centre 5 minutes drive, plenty of parking and options for dining out, can't comment on restaurant menu at hotel as we ate out in Kewsick.

Had a wonderful weekend here it's in a fabulous location with beautiful views. The rooms are basic but very clean. We had a meal in the hotel restaurant, the chicken stuffed with black pudding was cold and dry, and the fondant sweet potato was very undercooked and hard, but the steak and ale pie was delicious so maybe a little hit and miss in the restaurant. The breakfast is second to none it was truly delicious. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. We paid £140 per night, which is slightly high, but as I said, it is in a beautiful setting and worth a visit.

Stayed here at Christmas. Lovely dog friendly hotel. Food was amazing on each of the 3 evenings. Everything was perfect for a relaxing break. Staff always pleasant and attentive.

We had a brilliant stay. The hotel is beautifully located in the Borrowdale valley right on the shores of Derwent Water. Super evening meal and breakfast and a great room with stunning mountain views. Look forward to staying again one day.

Staff is very accommodating and friendly throughout. Dinner wasn’t great, but my dish wasn’t charged. Room was very small. So was the bed, which to me was a size in between a single bed and a Queen sized bed, which is pretty narrow for two people. Heating wasn’t working and the room was pretty chilly. We only stayed one night, so we didn’t make a fuss out of it. All in all, I expected more.

Six of us stayed for 2 nights to celebrate family birthdays. We were warmly welcomed, the food and service were excellent (even including a small cheesecake birthday cake!), and the setting of the hotel was delightful, overlooking Derwentwater with grand views of Catbells and Skiddaw. We stayed very comfortably in the annexe as it's a dog-free area and we don't own dogs. Many thanks!
