Be careful when using this transportation. You need to buy the tickets online but then, (not mentioned) but you need to go to the AB Maritime office in Aqaba and request the formal tickets. In the office they are quick and easy. Once in the port, it is old and under construction. No one speaks English, no instructions anywhere, just ask and follow the locals. The good thing is that they take foreigners first. It takes ages for them to scan your bags, then you will pay a 10JOD fee, cash only! You are told to wait but no instructions until 15min before departure. The boarding is an absolute mess and no organization. They take your passport but they will return it at the end, in the port. The ferry is ok, outside the night view is nice as well. Once the ferry docks, it becomes a mess again. Complete caos, they shout at you to go to some place you do not know. They keep your passports and ask you to wait again in the port. We waited roughly 1h to get our passports back. Overall, the trip is done, is a mess to buy the tickets, it is caos to board, caos to leave the ship and the port.. Unfortunately, not many options

I don't even know where to begin. We paid double the price of the ticket that was agreed upon when we called to book, and still could not get in the boat. After waiting more than an hour, we passed the customs and got the departure stamp on our passport. The confusion around the exit tax, the fact that we could only pay cash, the waiting... made us be the last ones in line. The boat was overpacked (I highly question the security of it all) with extra heavy luggage as well, but the captain refused us to get on board. We were just 2 girls with one bag. We had to go back through customs, get a "CANCELLED" stamp on our passport, and go back to Aqaba to find another solution. The staff were unhelpful and laughing at us. For the taxi and the ATM commission we spent about 40 USD to finally not board the boat, with the extra pleasure of the staff making fun of us and being treated unfairly.

Took the ferry between Taba and Aqaba. At the website and via email, they said it would cost US$ 65 per person, one way. At the marine, they charged US$ 70. Very rude staff, saying that my only option was to pay the US$ 70 or not travel at all, even though I had the email stating that at the marine it would cost the same US$ 65. No egyptian pounds accepted, only US dollars, euros or jordan dinars, even though I was leaving from Egypt. Fortunately, the customer service from AB Maritime is really good! After my complaint via email, they quickly contacted me via WhatsApp saying they were really sorry, trying to better understand the situation and reimbursed the US$ 10 difference, since I was traveling with my husband. It's not something that we see very often and we were really glad.

Overly priced, I guess the last time the ferry was cleaned was in the 80’s. The guy at the ticketing office in Amman said the ferry has a family section that we would be able to sit in comfortably and that was a total LIE. And because of the war in Palestine there are no tourist boats going to taba so we are left with the only option that is a total SCAM for the amount of money paid. You offer a service for people at least be honest and realistic when it comes to how the situation will be. Staff is very rude and abusive towards passengers. Dear traveler… pay more and take a flight because this is a disaster you should avoid.

For any foreigners looking to travel to Egypt via ferry, just don’t. It was cancelled for 2 days, then the day of we sat at port for 3.5 hours before leaving at 1:30am. No one speaks English. I was the only women on the ferry of several hundred men. And the ferry police took my passport and wouldn’t give it back for no reason at all. AVOID AVOID AVOID
