Managers (the brothers) tried to scam us by cancelling our reservation when we were in the lobby and already checked in with one of their employees. They tried to lie about it and then forced us to book a room of 4 (instead of 2 rooms booked via expedia). Of course, this room was more expensive. We did not have a choice, all the hotels were full. A horrible experience. There are a lot of hotels in Aqaba, just choose another one to be sure to not be scammed. On a positive note, the room and bathroom are clean. However, the breakfast is horrible.

On first arriving at reception to check in, the man on reception spoke very poor english. Of course I wouldnt hold this against anybody, after all I was travelling in Jordan so you dont expect everyone to speak English. However, the way in which he spoke just appeared rude along with his poor body language towards me. Initially he couldnt find my reservation and proceeded to give me the incorrect room type which I had booked. I couldnt be bothered to try and explain this, so I accepted the room.i was given. The room was very dark as it was facing another building, but the room lighting certainly didnt help. The basics all worked fine, AC unit, water pressure, hot water and kettle. Sadly tv did not seem to work though. Luckily I was very tired from Petra so I slept fine. I did notice people talking very loud and slamming doors late at night. In future I'll pay a bit extra to stay somewhere better.

Maswada Plaza hotel is a very old rundown hotel in need of total renovation. Bathroom has mould everywhere. Room is very dirty with a strong smell of cigarette smoke. In the lobby cigarette smoke is extremely bad. Not much of a variety of food at breakfast and what they did have was awful

Excellent small hotel in a good position. Breakfast is a buffet that is well stocked, the food is good and everything is kept very clean. There are numerous restaurants and fast food outlets close by for dinner. All the staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. They have rooms with good balconys which overlook the Mosque and are worth booking. Highly recommended hotel and better than staying at the larger more expensive hotels in Aqaba.
